Two MSC's, same client and locations?

A job I just completed for one MSC is now posted on KSS Intl. under a different MSC - same client, same location, same pay. I also see 2 shops that are open for the exact same client and location but listed under 2 MSC's. Has anyone ever seen this?

Well, I have done some gas stations that the store and the gas are shopped by two different MSC. They will require a purchase at both the pumps and in-store for both companies. I usually chalk it up to checks and balances.

I saw that last week. I did an apartment shop for one agent at one community and two days later saw a different MSC offering a different agent at the same place. I thought about asking the scheduler for the shop I did if they were affiliated with the other company, but felt that would violate my ICA with both companies to bring it up.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
Maybe the complex hired a company and the real estate agent hired a company... LOL, that's funny....

I recently shopped a bank for one company. When I was looking for other shops in the area I came across 3 shops, for the same location, on another job board. I was tempted for about 1/10th of a second. Then I remembered that the MSC I was working for was paying me 10x as much as that one would and I didn't really wanna do anything to upset that gravy train.

I have been shopping for a few years, but just really got into it within the last year. I have found out that a lot of companies don't schedule from within the company, but hire outside schedulers to find shoppers for the shops. Sometimes these schedulers work for several companies and will use info about shoppers from one company to get shops done for another. Also, the schedulers usually have different email addresses for each company (ie jane.doe@msc1.com and jane.doe@msc2.com) and they sometimes use the wrong one in sending out shops to be done, making it look like two different companies are doing the same shop.
It's also possible one company has a competitor as the client and those are competitor shops.
I've seen that too. One shop for Cori and one for Trendsource. Same client, same guidelines but..Trendsource offered a higher fee.

Imagine that, eh? winking smiley
I wonder what would happen if I signed up for both and submitted the same report to 2 different MSC's. I couldn't really call it double dipping because I'd be working for 2 separate entities. The client would probably catch on though.
I don't suggest you do that shopper-dude. I think you either accept it from one company or decline the other's. The client might not benefit anything from your same report and if they catch on it, your reputation as a shopper might be at stake.

I once had a similar situation. It was a restaurant shop. Posted by both MF and Customer Impact for the same location, date and time. Identical instructions and similar pay etc. We cancelled one of them cos what happened was my spouse applied for one thru MF and I did the same with CI!

I don't think either MSC appreciated the honesty on our end, but who cares? I act like I do to please a higher power....not people. He ALWAYS appreciates!

Day2Day - I wouldn't really do that. It seems odd though that the exact same scenario would be offered by 2 different MSCs.

Trendsource was higher? Than....anyone???? Dear. Diary.
We have an outlet mall based tool store here that I have shopped for two separate companies. The reports are nearly identical. The only real difference is one company lets me shop every month, and the other every six month. Oh, and the one that lets me shop every month has a much lower reimbursement, so I have to wait till closer to the end of the month for the fees to go up.

Some times you just have to turn around, give a little smile, toss the match, set the bridge ablaze, and walk away.

Silver Certified on the Carolina Coast. You want fries with that?
I would like to weigh in on this...

I have seen such listings before and if I want to do both, I will contact the schedulers for each company and ask if they mind(and will pay) if I accept both locations... Some companies have a policy flat out you cannot do this, others don't mind. About 50% of the time, I am given an ok to do both.
I do a restaurant that is shopped by two different companies. I NEVER would try to do them both at once- that would be unethical, in my opinion.

But I do like that the rotation is effectively halved for me by shopping for both companies!

I've done three shops with different MSCs for the same location simultaneously for two of the three more than once. Each shop was for different parts of the location (one shop was for a vendor inside the location, one was for the location itself and one was for a brand sold by the location). I haven't run into problems, and the shops weren't for the same thing (so these shops were not identical). However, I'll admit that it was vendor & brand and vendor & location, never brand & location (which could, possibly, be an issue since the location requirements for that rotation could overlap with the brand shop requirements if that department was being shopped for that rotation -- however, the brand shop is about how their items are being merchandised and sold by the salespeople while the location shop is how the salespeople are selling, period).
Shopperdude,

Doesn't it notify you on the email, do not apply if you have shopped the same location within the last 12 months?
Next week, I have a grocery shop with gas purchase in a town.

Another msc has a gas station picture audit at the same place.

Different scenario, so I just might do it.

Would you?
