BestMark payment schedule

Does anyone know why processing has slowed down so much?

I've been shopping with BestMark for about a year. I did notice that last year payment schedules would fluctuate between weekly and bi-weekly (the weekly checks were great!) Recently, I received their update about possibly increased processing times; I'm up to double digit shops that haven't been processed, some were performed 12 days ago! I know they said interest has increased, but can it really be that bad? Has this happened before, seasoned BM shoppers?

Not me..my scheduler takes care of the mileage and other expenses. I think you can assign shops yourself if you want to work for the shown fee; I usually don't.
Email them. I usually get good responses even on the weekends. Ask about the shops you are interested in. Bestmark is my favorite company and one big reason is the good communication I have with my scheduler, and the company in general.

I agree that Bestmark is one of the best Mystery Shopping companies around and even though I have noticed the slowing payment process, I know it is coming sooner or later and lately it has been later. I inquired about it and this is the reply from Bestmark early March 2014:
Hello,

{Due to the volume of shops to be processed at this time, there has been a slight delay in getting the shops through our system. In order to honor our commitment to pay our shoppers as promptly as possible, we are running payment batches every Friday this month rather than every other Friday as is the norm. Please keep in mind that you are advised in your shopper guidelines to allow 3 to 4 weeks from date of shop to receive payment. These shops should be through the process and included in the batch next Friday, 3/7.}

It came one week later on the 14th.......... but it came!!!!

I do not remember reading anywhere in the guidelines to allow 3 or 4 weeks from date of shop to payment. I don't want to read a ton of writing to find one line.
The payment is tied to the editing. The shops have to be edited before payment. I noticed the few shops I've done in March are not being edited in a timely manner and I am going to contact my scheduler to find out why. I did two shops last weekend and one was edited and finalized in a few days. The other is still sitting there.

Received a reply this morning at 10 AM EDT(Sunday)-"We have a lot of shops getting edited right now, they will be getting to them as soon as they can."
Does Bestmark still dock your pay if your report is even a minute past their already very-short deadline? With not a single explanation, no matter how reasonable, acceptable to reverse that action?

If so, it seems particularly egregious, not to mention *highly* hypocritical, that they'd EVER be late paying contractors. And if they are, shouldn't they add a couple bucks (equal to whatever they dock if you're late) to the pay? winking smiley

Maybe they don't engage in that practice anymore, but I could swear they were one of the MSCs who did at one time.

I am not aware of any excuses which are considered acceptable. Case in point, an ice storm knocked out my power and internet. First it was a Saturday night into Sunday morning which meant the library or any other back up location would have been closed, second, it was an ice storm dammit!

I've never been docked for a late report. But for some reason I don't have a problem with their deadlines. I do my reports the day I do the shops. A few times, I knew it was going to be close because I was traveling. I texted my scheduler who extended the deadline. I did over a 100 shops for them last year, and only got close to submitting a late report once.
BTW I can go to my history and see what fee I received for each shop.
