I just got a check from my March shop yesterday in the mail. I guess it probably took a while to get here due to it was coming from Texas which is far away.

Teri, you posted on the 14th you had received your check, but didn't say which day you received it. My understanding is they said they would pay on the 9th, which was a delay from payment on the 7th which you had expected and agreed to when you took the job. If they cut a batch of checks on the 9th, I wouldn't expect to receive the check on the 9th. I would expect it a few days later, allowing for possibly being put in the mail on the 10th or so which would have been a Thursday or Friday. You received it on the 14th or earlier so that sounds about right for a check cut on the 9th.

I know these payments didn't come out exactly like everyone expected and hoped, and I know they were some days later than expected originally but it appears there was something like a week drag involved from the date originally expected (the 7th) to the date received (the 14th or earlier).

If someone other than Sentry had bought Feedback Plus, we may have had a different reaction on this forum regarding the changes in payment. Sentry seems to be subjected to the most bitter criticisms here and I'm sure everyone has a good reason but my experiences with the company don't tell me what those reasons may be. Everyone of us is free to pick and choose who we work for and maybe some shoppers will bail out of Feedback Plus shops over the change. Rest assured there are plenty waiting in line to pick up that work.

I want to express my sympathy to those who actually suffered financially from that week or so delay in payment, but I hope and believe most of us have our affairs arranged so that a delay of a week or so in payment for a few shops is not critical.

You are correct this check did not come by horse. We already beat that horse to death, he's dead, he's gone to the glue factory, and he's not delivering the mail anymore.

Personally, it wouldn't matter to me who bought Feedback. Since Feedback had been paying via PayPal on the 8th of the month there was no reason to suddenly expect to have to wait an additional week for a check. The information shared here did indicate the normal payment process would be in effect for shops performed prior to April and changing to check was never mentioned.

And no, this horse has not been beaten to death. Shoppers performed assignments per the contract in place at the time. The MSC did not pay per the agreement. Whether or not this caused financial suffering for the shoppers is actually irrelevant.

Yes, Mary. You love Sentry and Dave. I get it. Everybody gets it.

I don't think I complained about when I received payment. I merely posted (on the day I received payment) that my payment had arrived. I listed the expected date and noted that it arrived later than that, but not as late as Sentry payments. If this is somehow offensive to you, that is really your problem. My post wasn't inflammatory. Dave even liked it. The remark about horses was a joke about the fact that it really doesn't take long for mail to cross the country. It had nothing to do with Sentry at all.

If the horse is dead, it probably didn't need 5 paragraphs from you extending the conversation.
Yes, this is a major issue and I'm sure if we all stop shopping for both companies something will change, like, for example, they will replace us with other shoppers. I regret the delay of payments due to be paid on the 7th which were apparently paid on or around the 9th as the checks were received on or before the 14th. I don't intend to stop working with any company that pays me on or close to the agreed upon date. I agree the one week delay is regrettable but I do not see it as monumental. I sincerely sympathize with those who were actually adversely affected by the payment delay, as in they could not meet their obligations as a result. However, we have to realize we are in business now, not working on a W2 job, and we will not be paid on Friday as employees are. We are contractors and sometimes contractors have to wait for their money. If that's not satisfactory with us as contractors, we have the option to move on and we should.

Toggle me. Works great. I use it a lot.

I actually got paid on time but I was paid via PayPal. I assumed when people were complaining about not getting paid on time that they weren't expecting a check in the mail.

I had always gotten PayPal as well as was expecting PayPal on the 10th or 11th (which is why I thought maybe I had been forgotten about). I didn't expect to get a check which I would have allowed time to arrive via snail (or horse LOL) mail. It all spends and all is good now. I'm wondering if they are going to move the existing FP clients to Sentry Prophet site sometime soon. I had signed up for Sentry a while back but they don't have anything in my area (until they merged with FP).

I was wondering that, as well. It seems more efficient and easier to manage to just have one platform. But, maybe they are running as two separate entities.

Dave??
Hey, Teri. If you want to communicate to Dave you will have to email him, I suspect. I noticed a few posts ago you wrote, "Dave even liked it." Where do see any interaction with Dave on this thread? Did you email him with what has been written in this thread and get a response?
I can attest to the fact that Dave had used the "Like This Post" function for one of Teri's posts. The thing is, there is also an option to delete your "Like" and apparently he did just that.

I completed a job on March 5th for Feedback Plus. I have always been paid by Paypal for this MSC. I received a check in the mail yesterday (April 14th) for said job.

I have never worked for Sentry as of now, not that I wouldn't, I have had email contact with Dave and as much as the company gets bashed in the forum... he has always come in to explain... that to me says a lot.

So, the check thing for Feedback was new (I don't know how Sentry pays) but still on point with payment schedules as far as MSC's go.

So I will continue to take jobs with Feedback and will keep checking the Sentry website for jobs in my area.

As of right now there are still two separate websites for these companies.

O.o o.O

Happily shopping New England and beyond!!!!!
FB+ and Sentry clearly have a different corporate culture and philosophy. I've done at least 25 shops for FB+, all were problem free and paid either within 2 or four weeks. I actually got an apology for one missed $5 bonus, a promise of payment and another apology at payment time. I truly felt valued and respected. I've done four for Sentry. Only one was problem free. The pay was essentially a $20 return on my $32.95 upper lip clean up. I've yet to get paid for my 2/19/14 burger shop, my third effort, as my paycheck was returned to sender. The mailed to address was confirmed as correct but I still have not received the check in the promised " next cycle". My most recent burger shop got $2.00 deducted because I allegedly did not make the requested revisions. I e-mailed both the original submit confirmation number and the number confirming the revision submit. My answer was that I did not address all the revisions. So I am to receive $2.00 for three plus hours of writing! I 'll miss FB+....however not the burger shop with the garbage fields of Calcutta below the tables nor imagining what the behind the scenes kitchen floor had on it..... and what's up with them quizzes? Miss you FB+.
Feedback Plus was always one of my favorites: Competent and courteous schedulers, on time payments, and assignments with clear instructions with flexible options to provide the 'whole' experience.

I will miss them.

I signed up for three of the shops I used to do regularly for FeedbackPlus without realizing they had been bought by Sentry. Loved Feedback Plus! Have done a few shops for Sentry and never had a problem BUT not at all happy about the change in the payment policy. Will see how it goes with the three I just did. However I may no longer be doing them just because I'm so annoyed about the change in payment. I feel like they should have notified their regular shoppers of this change via an email.
Outside of the MSC world, I have worked for 5 companies that were bought out. I also worked for a Fortune 50 company that bought out 4 other companies while I worked for them.

In a purchase/merger there is always a transition period. During the transition, the books have to be closed on the acquired company and the work in progress has to be transitioned to the new company.

Whatever payment processes were in place may or may not be continued while accounts for vendors to the old company get paid out. It was not unusual to see an electronic payment be transitioned to a check for the final payoff out of funds from the old company.

For example, the old finance guy might not be around anymore. Sometmes all the payment funds for the old vendors (that's us!) may be moved to an isolated bank account. In this case, it is faster/easier for finance to write a check to the old vendors instead of set up electronic payments that may happen only once or twice more from that acount before the acquired company's books are closed permanently.

Then the transition happens and everyone still working for the new company (whether employee or contractor) is under the new rules and new payment procedures.

My guess is this is why you got checks. They have isolated the funds to pay off the remaining FB+ shops. Once those final payments are processes, that account will be closed.

They may pull in the FB+ shoppers accounts into their system, but that is less likely as you will probably have to sign a new ICA with different terms and conditions.

Mergers and Acquisitions are always interesting and very hectic. Probably someone should have sent email to all the FB+ shoppers saying that is what would happen. But I am not surprised it didn't happen since everyone in the acquiring company is super busy with the transition.

Keep in mind, a check instead of a paypal payment, while inconvenient, is still minor compared to those employees who may lose their jobs due to "streamlining operations".
