I might be done with Maritz w/o even trying!

I did a hardware shop....they didn't like the size of my receipt....twice I re-did and resent...yesterday I called to make sure all was fine as it was still "on hold"....was asked if I re-ded receipt...said yes, the woman says ok, i will take care of it....today NO shop showing as being completed....it's just nowhere...I will call when they open, but think I've had enough of this company......sigh...

What I think you are describing is normal. After performing a shop, before it is reviewed, the shop stays in your Current Shops list showing "no action necessary." When they review and want something, it shows "on hold." When they are happy and have approved it, it is gone from your Current Shops list. It sounds like you are good to go on this one.
I had some similar problems with them to begin with. I will continue to work from them because they have a million jobs in my area but they will never be the first company I look at. They pay by check and the payments have been coming out slower lately. I have had to call several times and resubmit receipts. Which, in the thick of things is not a huge problem as I have done 100's of jobs for them. It's just an added aggravation I don't need.

I will say the website has gotten slightly faster but the excessive calls from them (sometimes 4 a day) are getting to me. Some of them are down right pushy....

Example: I'm driving down the highway at a very busy traffic hour and I tell her I will have to call her back when I get to my next job. She says she will just wait on the phone... OK you wait right there.... I just hung up.

Honestly they are becoming a non favorite for me but then again, this is my business and they have a ton of work so I will deal with it when I have to.

You submit the invoice (at least I do) on another screen after you have completed input for the shop. You have up to 14 days to submit.

The completed jobs will show for 14 days on that screen. However, I have had jobs disappear from that screen when payment was issued in far less time than 14 days.

It may just be that it got accepted and the one that you spoke with pushed it right through for payment (which I believe is this week.)

You can always call them back, explain your new and were wondering and they will always be more than happy to help you... that is one of the great benefits of this company... it's always a person at the other end and they are always helpful.

Submit the invoice just as soon as you have completed and uploaded the job. Don't wait for any approval other than the screen that says "debriefing successful (paraphrasing). It's best to put the monkey on their back. If there are questions, they'll ask. But, at least you have billed them.

As for phone calls, just let them leave a message. Then, you choose whether to return the call. Typically, they leave a message on your welcome screen when logging in anyway.

I consider Maritz one of the easier MSC in which to work.
They're good people overall, been with them for close to 19 years now.

I will call when they open....I sure hope all is fine with this job as I didn't ask the woman's name yesterday when I called....
nanabelle, Maritz is one of the very best companies. I encourage you to hang in there.

In the guidelines of the shop that I'm thinking of, there is a long detailed scenario, probably more details than you would need. If I remember rightly, you had a 15 year old fridge, and had decided you wanted a French-door one, but weren't sure what the difference was between the two-drawer and one-drawer one. Sound right to anyone else?
this just proves to me that sometimes you do just need a BREAK from MS....I have cut way down since Jan...and was just starting to get back into it.....I feel like such a DOLT!
The thing I have learned about MS mistakes is that when I make one, I never make that mistake again (I make new ones). Take it as a learning experience and don't give up. I usually lose my edge when I've had a break from shopping. I haven't done a shop in over a month due to tax season and I'm about to get back into it with some trepidation because I know I'll be a bit rusty at first.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
You're right Ishmael. The guidelines say refrigerator and all that other stuff. The questioniare for the job just says appliances at the top, but you have to go with the scenerio in the guidelines. Tough lesson, but now you know.
Nanabelle, in the guidelines, it breaks out each area (Paint, Appliances, etc.) and gives a detailed scenario. Ishmael is right on target with the Appliance requirement.
Ask me why I'm putting in a backsplash! winking smiley Actually, at first I felt a little jaded about the scenario, because none of the salespeople seemed to ask any questions that would have me needing to know any of the material. And then, the last time I did it, the salesperson asked me what was there now. And I KNEW! I knew without having to think about it, and my answer inspired the salesperson to say some more things that'll make him look good. (He told me a lot of info about removing the old one.)

Ha! Yes, this is definitely the truth for me, too! smiling smiley

I'm feeling rusty too because I haven't had a car since mid-January (except for borrowing one sporadically) and have barely shopped. Just now getting back into the swing of things with a new-to-me car. smiling smiley

Yep, the job listing only shows the department. The long guidelines document shows the details of the scenarios. At the start of this round, I emailed myself the details of each scenario and put them each into a separate notepad file on my smart phone so that I can reference them at any time. I've had four different scenarios in one route so far, and being able to quickly glance at only what I need has been golden. I've also been using the same out of stock item each time - after they checked a huge radius and no location had it anywhere, I would double-check the shelf and then was ready with that item number every time.

Do mind sharing your out of stock item? I have another shop tomorow.
I used a toaster oven for many of mine, and discovered something strange. In my area, they have stopped carrying them, any of them in the stores. But, the online listing shows the same stores as having a wide assortment of them in stock.

7 piece wrench set, item #516024. However, shipments were to be arriving at at least 20 different stores in my region later this week. It's generally not too hard to find a gap on a shelf or peg board somewhere in "Tool World," snag the item number from the shelf tag, and retreat to a main aisle or another nearby department to find someone to help you.

Thanks to both of you for the ideas. I think I will use the toaster oven and see if they have them where I am going tomorrow.
Aww. Don't get mad at Maritz. That's like getting mad at your grandmother cuz you have to repeat yourself more now that she's in her golden years.

Um, Hoju and all of you who persist in entertaining yourselves with these inappropriate and insulting age-related comments/jokes...I am old enough to be a grandmother or great grandmother to a lot of you and, quite frankly, my tolerance is wearing thin. I have to wonder if you show this same disrespect to your own grandmother or great grandmother?

(heart)

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
Why don't you guys just provide the rest of us with a list of topics off limits for jokes. And yes, I tease my own grandmother about being old. But then again, she has a sense of humor.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

I actually don't see what the joke is, unless one assumes that it's inherently humorous to be old, and still be working. The nerve of it!
I wasn't even making fun of old people, I was making fun of Maritz because most of their employees are old. Two entirely different things. If they were all French I would have changed the post to "you can talk to a real French person." That's not insulting to French people so why is saying they're old insulting to old people??

I agree. Better yet, some people need to learn to have a sense of humor and pull the proverbial sticks (in some cases not proverbial) out of their anal passages.

We're all in this together to share our experiences, vent and unwind together. This is supposed to be a "support system" in a way. The way some people act with their uppity attitudes on here, you would think this was some sort of inquisition.

I try and respect everybody's opinion, because whether I agree or disagree, they are sharing with everyone. It gets to the point where there are some people who's attitudes should be kept in check.

People joke; it may offend you, especially if you offend easily. Get over it; it's human nature. If a person offends you too much, either talk to them privately and address it or hit the "Toggle User Visibility" link. Easiest way not to be offended.

This is the second time I have seen someone take offense on a Maritz post; maybe Maritz should be on that off limit joke list most of us are unaware of?

Where is Maritz's main office located anyways, Bedrock? tongue sticking out smiley

Arguing with fools is like playing chess with a pigeon...
...No matter how good you are, the pigeon will s@^t on the board and strut around like it won anyway.

I apologize. Let me rephrase my comment-
It's like getting mad at your grandmother because she's completely lost her sense of humor in her golden years.

Get over yourself. Life is too short to worry about other people making jokes and nobody cares that you're so easily offended.
