What in the world did you do, MarketForce?

Wow, this is a first. I've been scheduled for a week to do a FF shop for them tomorrow. Built an entire route around this shop.

I just got an e-mail rescheduling the shop for next Wednesday. No phone call from the scheduler,
no notice, just an e-mail changing the date.

I built a route around this shop -- and many of you know exactly the time and effort that takes.

And I am NOT available next Wednesday.

Any of you have this happen to you? How did you handle it? I'm mighty tempted to cancel....

No. They assigned a different shopper for tomorrow, so I can't reschedule for tomorrow.

Fortunately, the other shopper called me & told me, so I knew about it before I even got an e-mail from the help desk.

Drat.

To add insult to injury, they bonused her!

You might want to call them. I had a MF shop canceled once that I had built a route around. I had a couple other MF shops on the route and they bonused those up enough to make up for the lost fees on the canceled shop. Perhaps if you explain the pickle they've put you in, they might be accommodating for you too.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
That must make you feel like a red headed step child.

All the schedulers I have phone numbers for went straight to
voice mail. Help desk, no answer. I have to leave at 6 AM
tomorrow. There aren't any other MF shops in the route, only
this one.

And cpburt, I am redheaded.....but I don't think I'm a stepchild.

But the other shopper has only been with them 2 or 3 months, and
I've been shopping for them for FIVE YEARS, and the shop was
already ASSIGNED to me!

I'm confused....how did the "other shopper" know it was assigned to you?

It's understandable if you need to cancel.

I would be livid, too! Oh, that would really make me fume. >: (

I've had MF cancel shops on me stating it was the client doing it, but I've never had another shopper tell me they were shopping the location I had planned.

Evaluating and mailing packages since 1994
A shopper would never tell me because I do not know another shopper. Except for PMs here in the board, I do not
know or have any contact with any shopper. With the exception of course when I had a movie shop and I was the leader. After that, I never had any contact with anyone mshopping. As a matter of fact, I am not aware of anyone doing my kind of work in the vicinity.
MF has done that to me one time back in February. I assigned the shop that morning or the day before, and it was nicely bonused. It was a cell phone store. I hate them and only take them when they are bonused. I was working nearby so it worked for me.

MF called me and left a message that the shop was canceled because the store would be closing. They said if I already did the shop, it was fine but otherwise don't do it. They also sent an email. I was annoyed since it was nicely bonused but I was nearby - didn't make a special trip so no loss. However, it's two months later and the store is still open. I'm not sure if they lied about the closing, or whether they had multiple shoppers and just came up with their best excuse.
Ah, just got off the phone with MF. All fixed. Yay! I get to do the shop today, the other shopper gets to do it next Wednesday.

Gotta run....

Market Force does not accept EIN#, insists on getting your SS# even before you performed a job for them. I do not give out my SS# or EIN# until I have seen their Job Board and I actually did a shop for them and am waiting for pay.
The first payment is a check mailed to you, and they are generally mailed around the 20th of the month following.

They are a super company with lots and lots of shops.

"The first payment is a check mailed to you, and they are generally mailed around the 20th of the month following."

Not for me. My first pay came the month after my first shop and it was direct deposit.
Yup junk, I am DD as well. Like clockwork around the 13th of each month for the previous month's work.
Oops. I meant to say, the first payment is (ordinarily) by check that's mailed around the 20th of the month following. Once you sign up for DD, then it's usually DD earlier (around the middle of the month).

I recently changed my DD to a new bank. That month, MF mailed me my check; the following month, the new DD went through.

You know from my experience in administration and training of individuals, I always prepare alternatives, whereby you become flexible of the performance of your daily activities. Therefore, it does not become a negative journey, controled by a change of schedule. Always plan ahead of different direction, you can alter your travel in case of road being closed etc. Take a few minutes as you are about to review your daily schedule, to sit and consentrate positively for a few minutes of what you are about to do. Foremost to appreciate of the potentials of a financial rewarding day. This will get you ready to have a very positive dealing with clients, who would notice a very professional presentation! This create an atmosphere of not only allow you to make a good analysis of the requirements of being a "Mystery Shopper Report", but to render an honest appraisal of the location that you have visited!
A Marketforce scheduler called me yesterday and asked me to do some FF shops. I told him that I could not do one of the shops for the next day but could do it the same day as the call. He said that he would put in a request to change the date and fee, and he would call me back if the the changes were approved. He called me back 10 minutes later and said that it was approved and give him a few minutes to change the date and fee. The location is an hour drive from my home but was on my way home from my route I was working on. I received the conformation email for the assignment but it did not include the assignment date. I completed the assignment on my way home because I have done this assignment many times before. When I went to enter the assignment the date had not been changed. I send a email to MF through the contact MF on their web site. There response is that I should have printed the CPI before doing the visit.

My view is that verbal agreement on the phone is a binding contract. The scheduler asked if I would give my 100% commitment to complete the assignment as agreed to on the phone call. I had no problem agreeing to this because I could complete the assignment on the date I had agreed to. I can not complete on the date assigned.

I am fuming mad and just wanted to vent. I now want to cancel the 3 other assignments I agreed to on that call. I do not need the FF meals.
Should have called the scheduler. They are much more helpful than "helpdesk" people, who are not always very helpful.
