Maritz has lost their minds!

So, it's true, I have no love for Maritz, they drive me insane, but I couldn't turn down the $75 incentives to do a few DIYs. They called me yesterday and I missed the call, and before I had a chance to call them back, they called me back again today wanting me to do a bunch more. Told me to name my price, they were pretty much desperate, and even waived the two visit rule on a couple of locations because they couldn't get anyone else to do them. At some point today I get an email saying more incentives are available for self scheduling, and they are listing incentives of $30-$40. I figured I would wait and see if they call me back because I had asked for another $75. They finally called me back and offered me....$20 & $25 incentives. That was less than if I scheduled it online. So...they are desperate enough to waive the hard and fast two visit rule, but they are offering less than what they are offering online? Just last week they were offering $75 for some of the same locations, but unfortunately I was too busy to get them done by the deadline so I had to turn them down.

I truly will never understand this company.

It's too bad they don't have managers monitoring this forum and finding out all the stuff people say about them. lol. I see at least of couple of the MSC's have people here trying to fix their problems. Kudos to them.

Jon, I'm going to make a guess on what happened here. The larger incentive was offered in efforts to make a deadline. They missed the deadline they were going for, and now the shop is in a different mode. Perhaps they have a second deadline after missing the first one, and they're not close to the second deadline; therefore, the offer went down. Just a hunch, don't know a thing for sure.

Still doesn't explain why they would call me in panic mode, and offer me less than what I can self schedule for. Doesn't matter I suppose. I have been too busy to really worry about this. It just annoyed me that I spent the afternoon trying to clear a day to do these shops just to have them lowball me. I'm not flaking on anything, just had to kiss up to about three different schedulers to move stuff around. I really thought they were going to offer the money.

In other news, I now have a full day off this week!

Been shopping for several years with many different companies. My two experiences with Maritz.1) the business was long out of operation they scheduled me for, and 2) their pay isnt nearly as quick as I have heard others state..and the first check I got had NA on it instead of my name followed by my address...slack and stupid...an elder woman who called me for Maritz told me she didnt know how to email..all she did was call....fine for little house in the prairie day...not acceptable now..
My checks from Maritz come about every two weeks, sometimes off by a day or so. They do most of their business on the phone so if that bothers you, you can take your phone number out of your profile and just work off the website availability.
Most of the employees who work the phones are not allowed to email; however, I've seen them use email on payroll issues, offering bundles of work, and offering incentives.

They do have an email icon next to each assigned shop. As far as I can tell, though, nobody ever reads the emails sent via this method.
It seems Maritz is a love 'em or hate 'em MSC. Although they can be very frustrating when shops available disappear and magically re-appear and no one there can explain why, put me on the love 'em side. I don't mind the phone calls - I answer or call back all of them. Quite often they involve bonuses. Like Mary, I get my checks on or about the 15th and 30th of each month.
I too am frustrated with Maritz. The shops you refer to--I did many with the $80 bonus. Got the email today (with the typo "Insented Shops"winking smiley. The bonuses were $12 and $10, but you get the option to do them monthly (but at the $12 rate, no bonus). Then they called again and wanted me to do more. I asked for the same bonus. Was called back and the supervisor said no to bonus. Frustrating, but it's their show.

aggiejim72, the last time they called me with a last minute shop with no bonus, I told whoever I was speaking to that I was not going to do those shops without some sort of bonus. She asked if I wanted that written down -that they should not call me unless the shop comes with a bonus. I told her yes. And they have so far stuck with that. I no longer get daily calls from them. I have to drive too far ...
Oh and those DIY reports have changed. The out of stock item needs to be named.

Thanks for reminding me since I'm about to do one of the DYI shops. In the reports I did last month, I always named the out-of-stock item in detail, even listing the item #, because it fills up space in the report.

I told them that I would do any of these DYI shops for $25 if I got them every month. If I can get 10 locations locked down in my area then I can build routes around them. But the supervisor said "no."

BTW, do you think they really have a supervisor? Because one of the schedulers calls me and he agrees or disagrees with my bonus request without laying the blame on the supervisor. And this scheduler is not a supervisor. I ask because last month one of the scheduler's rejected my bonus request of $80, calling back and saying the supervisor said "no". Then within an hour the good scheduler called me and gave me the bonus immediately. Had to talk to the other scheduler again that night and she said: "You mean you got the $80 approved?"
