On this point, I'm going to share a little anecdote with you. Back in January, I made a big mistake on a shop for them. I overlooked the part of the instructions that said when to shop, and started it a half hour too late. (This was not a fast food place, or any place that they're famous for shopping.) I got home, realized my mistake, and e-mailed them. I got a response saying that they were going to submit it, and we'd just have to see if the client accepted it.
I got paid.
Obviously, they had a client who wasn't fanatical about the time for the shop. I think I may have been saved by the fact that the salesman approached me the moment I entered the department, so, clearly I didn't get poor service because of the time of day.
However, nothing could have stopped them from telling me that the shop was unacceptable, and then sending it along to the client, if they'd wanted to chisel me out of my fee. I would have accepted it--it was an obvious mistake on my part. But, they just didn't.
