Market Force -- what is a CPI?

i JSUT DID TWO JOBS FOR MARKETFORCE. What is a CPI? Do you have to submit an invoice after you submit the online report and receipt? In addition, I notice after the report, it asks about tolls and parking. Does the tolls and parking require a receipt?

Thanks

The CPI is the "contractor payment invoice." Yes, you must submit it. If you don't, you will get paid still. However if you do not do this within the time frame they want and do not submit one a few times, they have been known to deactivate the shopper for this "sin of omission."

If you already submitted the shop report, you no longer have access to the original CPI. They require that you print and/or electronically save the file before the report is completed. So, you have to submit a replacement CPI. It requires that you word process the details into their text file and upload that.
You can find the replacement at the Help section of their shopper site.

I am not sure about the tolls and parking as I never have had to pay any for my shops for them.

Thanks.

I see a replacement Contractor Payment Invoice. Can I fax it? I already sent my report and receipts?
I don't know about faxing. I don't have a fax machine. :-) It probably says something about that somewhere there.

They should tell you about whether you can fax or not. If you have a fax, you probably can use it as a scanner. Otherwise pull out your digital camera and take a good clean photo of the thing. Make sure that when you load it to your computer it is clear enough to read. You upload receipts and the CPI onto their system in jpg (or JPG or JPEG) form.
Also expect one of the editors at MF to send you a note reprimanding you for this. Do not worry about it, but just expect it, and make sure in the future the CPI's are submitted properly or they will deactivate. They are notorious for it.

You can fax it, but they much prefer scanning. Even though you already uploaded your receipt, you can still upload a scan of the CPI. Just go back to the scan CPI/receipt section, click on the jobs and upload the scans.

Hi, I've done allot of shops for MF and in order to get reimbursed for tolls you must have a receipt, no exceptions to the rule.

the CPI I was wondering if some of the field reps are just overly picky?
In this case, the person did not submit it at all. I have not ever had to resubmit for them, so I can't answer your question on that one.

I don't understand what you are talking about. I was new to marketforce and did not realize about the CPI. Apparently they did not deactivate me because I got a telephone call asking me to do a rush job for them today.

No I was speaking from a different prospective. I was having issues of my own.

They won't deactivate you on one time. Just make sure you do them and on time using the form (not the replacement) and you'll be fine.

On the bottom of the CPI, next to the place where you sign your name, what does notes mean?
The number next to your name (6 digit number) is your shopper number. Then there is the Note:____ area where I do nothing and then there is a 7 digit number which is the Assignment ID number (job number).
I could be wrong, but I believe the notes is an area to leave notes if for some reason you can not complete the job as described. There is something like that printed on the CPI.
Thanks:

Thanks Flash, Dee, lisams and everyone, you really have been helpful. I am so glad this board found me. What is a Super Star Member?
It just means you hve posted over a certain number of times.

There is a place to submit an invoice with them, and now that I have completed the shops I can no longer find that place to submit an invoice. Does this mean I will not get paid? Do you have to submit an invoice everytime AND the CPI? I have submitted the CPI and the status says Verified. I know I have submitted invoices for them before for most of my jobs...and done the CPI. Are both steps necessary to get paid?
The CPI is the invoice. There is no additional invoice. If you submitted the CPI, then you are okay.
So the place where you submit an invoice and it asks for the assignment id and it generates the invoice and then asks for you to upload receipts AGAIN is additional and not required?
Maybe I am confused by all of this... But, if you have submitted the shop, you can still go to the submit CPI/receipts, find the job and submit. All you have to do is type in your name, the rest of the CPI is filled out.
When you have shops to complete at the top of that list on the left above the list of shops it had a clickable hyperlink that says "submit invoice"...this takes you to a screen that asks which invoice you want to submit and you put in the shop number and it takes you to an invoice (looks like a payment coupon -- like that you would get with a check) and you input your amounts and upload receipts. This is totally a different thing than the CPI. But this is not accessible if you do not have any shops on your current shops list. So since I have nothing scheduled for now I can no longer access this link...I was making sure that I did not need to do that step everytime to get paid as long as I did the electronic signature thing on the CPI.
Are you sure you aren't thinking of another MSC? I have never heard them refer to the CPI as just an invoice, and I see nothing like the link you describe on my pending shops list.

The harder I work, the luckier I get.
The description of the link and invoice actually sound like Maritz rather than MF. I have never noticed an additional link in MF called an invoice, only the CPI, although I might have missed it. If it exists, with MF, it must not be required, because I have been paid by them for years without ever seeing or submitting it.
