New people at GFK stealing from me

They are ripping me off too. They can't even give me a reason for not paying me. I'm done

Haven't done a lot of these for GfK because I don't meet the age and/or gender requirements ( I pick some up at the end of the month when they lift the restrictions).

Sorry about your issues, pantherion.

Here's my experience: Never a rejection. Paid within 2 weeks 50% of the time, 3 weeks the other 50%.

90% of scores of 9/10 or 10/10. Lowest was 7/10 when they had a question. Actually, that one was a lot of back and forth. The Receipt showed a Grilled Cheese (which is on the kid's menu) but the requirement is for a beef or chicken sandwich. They canceled the shop and gave me a 0/10. I had a lot of back-and-forth showing them that the menu item is Buffalo Chicken Grilled Cheese (At $8.79, it had better be more than cheese!)! They finally accepted the shop but gave me a 7/10 because of the question.

My scheduler is Kelly. She has been great.

NOTE: I'm not on the forum every day. If someone comments on my post, I might not reply right away. I've been a shopper since 1991. I've never done any work for a MS company in any other capacity.
Recently read at this forum about payment issues at GFK involving PayPal freezing their account because an app failed and they dropped below their reserve. I posted then that I was interested in this, but was dismissed. I'm interested now by all these new complaints, as an MSC will sometimes delay payments if they are short cash, or reject shops if they can't pay. GFK owes me and I'll keep all informed. Be mindful, too, that according to someone called Techman01 the owner of this board may share user data with MSCs that you work for. I'm going to look into this, but so far its just this Techman01 erupting on his own.

Nobody knows what the issue was with GFK's PayPal account. That story of not being notified about a low balance was not in reference to GFK. The poster was speculating on why there was a problem and shared the story. The company in question was one of those mystery shopping apps. She did not specify which one.

I had a smart phone shop that was just declined from GFK. I have been performing mystery shops for 9 years. I always have my doubts when you start answering questions and after you answer one, an exhausting amount of other questions drop down and suddenly appear. A survey that resembles 50 question is suddenly close to 90 questions for minimal pay. I entered my shop yesterday and the reviewer pointed out that a question was left unanswered. I answered and resubmitted. Another point this morning was asked and I responded.Bottom line they rejected the shop. I have learned my lesson with them.
I just got back from a well-bonused smart phone shop for GfK. If you didn't know there were more questions, you didn't catch the instruction to "click here" to get the full survey. It's admittedly obscure and a bit confusing because it appears to duplicate the partial survey that shows up at the bottom of the shop page. But if you carefully read the instructions and follow them, you'll know what is expected. I will say there is a lot of information to keep track of on these shops, but they are doable.

The link to the full survey is on the page with the instructions, not on the shop page. They do this to force shoppers to read the instructions because they might change from the last time you did them, and they are not like the smartphone shops for other MSCs.

There was a whole discussion about this a couple months ago, where a GfK scheduler came onto the thread and explained how that worked.

Time to build a bigger bridge.
But last I knew, those shops were only paying $11; at least to start.

They are worth much more than $11.

At least they quit advertising them (I'm pretty sure) as something along the lines of 'quick report with no narrative'.

That's how they were presented when I took some a couple years ago. At least I found the 'surprise' questions ahead of time... or I may have missed some observations. But they were NOT 'no narrative', and the report was NOT 'quick'.

Never again for $11... cell phone shops are pretty much my most-hated, anyway. :/
But I will relent for the right pay. smiling smiley

I wouldn't have done this particular shop for less than $20. It was an awkward shop and I think there were five narrative boxes, although none were particularly lengthy. I do other cell phone shops for $15. I'll do them for less if I'm going right by them and can't find anything more lucrative for a route, but I don't like to do them for less than that if I have other options for my time.

Time to build a bigger bridge.

I pull out my 12 gauge shot gun with No. 9 bird shot. I blow one half of the purple martins away. I feel so much better now.

You are anonymous chrsj, no way to track it to you. So I'm skeptical.

whosear, why would you post something like that, except to horrify the soft-hearted people in this world? Oh, I guess you answered that--to make yourself feel better.

Thank you for the clarification, Mod...just when I finished puking from the pre-edited posting.

I still don't know what whosear was talking about. Not sure I want to know. Not sure what shooting purple martins has to do with mystery shopping.

lol seems like many folks are having issues with this company lately. Very scary thought about them rejecting shops because their Paypal reserve is low. confused smiley

Nobody said their PayPal account was low. So now the rumor is going to be it was low AND they rejected shops to save money?

i've been paid on time no problem with already one payment
this month. But in order to receive the payment I had
to some things. It wasn't easy!

1) I had to go to the shop on the specified day.
2) I had to complete it as the guidelines stated.
3) I had to enter it in a timely manner.
4) Get paid.

That's what I took from it. It's almost 11PM and I'm tired. I'm personally just seeing red cause I've been annoyed with their company for a long time for multiple reasons. I'm just going to cut my losses. I'm sure plenty of people have had awesome experiences with them and that's nice but there are times where people do 1-3 and don't get to 4. We all can't be perfect but it seems there is always an issue with them

Hmmm...I got paid on time from them (last paid on 8/1/14) but...I did a cell phone shop for them today and then had to complete the report from Hell. It went onandonandonandon and it took me about 40-ish minutes to complete and by the time I finally got to the end and tried to submit the damn thing I wound up with the dreaded oops. It took me another 15-ish minutes to try and figure out where the oops was because there was a glitch in their computer system and it failed to properly identify the oops (it turned out that there was no oops). All of this for $14???? I think I drank more than $14 in alcohol in order to rid myself of the frustration.
He mixed up two different companies. The one whose issue with PayPal was admittedly a low balance was one of those so called mystery shopping apps. Honestly, none of us have a clue what GFK's problem was so while that is one of the possibilities, it is far from the only thing that could have happened.
