Need information on Second to None

Second, in my experience, all the paperwork and new types of shops regardless of company involved seem overwhelming at first. Practice makes things a lot easier.

So far the only shops I've done with STN are the "cholesterol bombs" that originated in North Carolina. I generally only do two of those a month so I won't gain weight.

I've done precisely a gazillion old peoples' insurance shops, a handful of medical testing shops, exactly one cholesterol bomb shop and maybe some other miscellaneous ones. In a little over two years, I have received a few pre-shop bonuses and a couple of post-shop bonuses and those were for shops that took extraordinarily long.
In my opinion, their fees might be a little on the low side, but still in line with what I consider semi-reasonable.
Needless to say, Second To None is one of my favorite companies. Nice people!

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
If you shop for them watch the pending reports.... just in case they have a question. Do not depend on an email.
I shop with them, and with a few exceptions, love them. Bonuses? Definitely. They will offer bonuses on the board, depending on geography and availability of shoppers. Knowledge is power. As with all MSCs, forewarned is forearmed. Certain locations are historically undesireable, then due dates loom. I disregard the incentive that is offered, and communicate with the scheduler. I counter offer, reasonable but not exorbitant. Regardless, an orphan in the middle of nowhere is not attractive to me, unless I can find a few siblings to go with.
Second To None is one of my favorite companies. I've done <oops! let's just go with the previously used "old people insurance"> shops for them and well as drug testing for more than two years. They pay in a timely fashion by direct deposit. Their forms are easy and the people are great! Totally responsive!

I have had no problems with this MSC. I have had quite a few free sandwich lunches. They pay timely and the reports are pretty easy. I think I might have been responsible for one franchise owner to be replaced. Their store and service were horrendous. One day I came to do another shop and the ownership had changed.
Second to None is on my list of companies that I don't want to do work for. They are the only ones that have rejected a shop that I did without any clarification. One other shop that I did for them did not even cover the cost...and then they take a $1 "fee" for Paypal.
Although I prefer PayPal, I am set up with direct deposit with Second to None - there is no fee charged for direct deposit.
I used to do a lot of the office supply shops for STN, and sometimes they were bonused. They have largely disappeared except for an occasional copy center. The ones which are left in my area are senior citizen shops that require me to be somewhere at a specific time during the work day, which I can't do. I got burned on a blood-draw because the rude receptionist refused to tell me her name. Instead of dealing with a rude employee, I didn't get paid. I literally gave blood for that one. I have refused to do another regardless of the bonus they offer. Still, I am generally glad to accept shops from STN when I can. They pay reliably, and the reports are reasonable.

I love the "cholesterol Bomb" shops. They can be picky about the photos, but I always take extras, and the one time they asked for more I had them. They always pay me on time and are constantly waiving rotation times for me to do the aforementioned cholesterol bomb shops because a lot of people don't like the photo requirements.

I have been doing quite a few shops for a major cable company thru them. Several of the shops have been bonused, the scheduler has been really good about working with me. Previously done a few blood draws, donut shops and other miscellaneous shops for them with few problems.
So I have seen the blood draw shop in my neck of the woods recently. I assume that it would all be sanitary and what-not, but I have to admit it makes me leery when I read questions like, "Did they wear gloves?" I mean what if they don't? Although it did have a pretty great bonus a few weeks ago, so if it comes up again, I may consider it. Any idea how many vials of blood they need? Have you found them to be professional...and sanitary?
@prairieshopper I have never done a blood draw shop.
I am a nurse and have done the medical shops. The facilities where I have been have been pristine. I would be VERY surprised if a technician did not wear gloves!
@PrairieShopper Some of these shops are available for them to come to your home (I have them come to my office) which is more than likely why the glove question is in place. They want to ensure the employees are following the proper procedures in the field. I have never had any issues; they always wear gloves.

I have finished three shops for second-to-none now. So far so good. I have two more to do and at this point everything is going ok. And yes you are so right. The paper work does seem overwhelming at first. I think I'm getting the hang of it. I guess with anything new in life one experiences learning curves.
Thank you for your advise. I have looked at the threads relating to this company. And one thing is for sure no two people seem to agree on what companies are good or bad to work for. So it's best to read what you can and than take on a job or two and come to your own decision on a particular company.

I think STN is great! They have always had interesting shops and pay pretty well. You do need to make sure you complete the assignment correctly or you will receive a call from their team. I would highly recommend Second To None.
Rarely do they call you. They will occasionally send a follow up email. But more often they leave it to the shopper to find follow up on the web site. YOU are responsible to go back to the web site and keep track.

I've done a number of shops, namely the office ones...not really too many problems....also tried the local sub shops and was surprised at how easy it is...only bad part with the sub shops are mainly done during the week and during the day when I am at my regular job.
I think I get more intimidated with the things to remember...once I get my first one under my belt and see how easy it is, then its not so bad....

I did two jobs over a month ago, both approved but payments still show pending. For my payment method I chose PayPal. Does it usually take that long to pay? Both jobs were completed the 1st and 2nd of August.

Then they're not due to pay you until September 15th.
Second-to-None pays on the 15th of the following month. All shops completed in August, no matter whether it's the 1st or the 31st, will pay on the 15th of September.

Then they're not due to pay you until September 15th.

You do realize your payment will include a deduction for the PayPal fee assuming you are in the US? STN also uses direct deposit as a free to the shopper option. I don't know if any of it applies to Canadian shoppers.

As someone's mentioned already, the paperwork SEEMS to be overwhelming. It's just the learning curve to mystery shopping.
Granted, I've only done one assignment for Second to None, I had no issues with the assignment. The guidelines I was given was clear-cut and straight-forward. Data entry was also appropriate for the payout I received.
