I am highly successful, and in constant demand...There must be a reason for it. I have no phony check jobs being offered to me, only full fledged responsible companies, offering nice shops at good rates.

Hello ALiving! Gold certification must be purchased from the MSPA, an organization of MSPs. In my opinion, it's nothing more than an expensive piece of paper pronouncing that you are certified. It does not guarantee you jobs. Read other opinions at this forum, by using the search feature.

I agree. It really does not mean anything. I am not MSPA certified and it has never cost me a job. Actually, several of the companies I shop for say they pay no attention to the certification.

Here are some experiences I've had, that some people may find helpful. I'm just outside Los Angeles, CA
I have worked with/contacted the following:
Sassie Shop www.sassieshop.com/site/ This is a site for shopping company's to market their shops, and process them. They aren't a mystery shopping company.
KSS International www.kernscheduling.com/shoppers/ Lot's of contacts but no contracts. They seem to work from mid-CA to San Francisco. What has been available in So Cal has been low pay.
MarketForce/ www.certifiedfieldassociate.com/ One of my busier ones, lots of small shops.
Ellis Property Management Services Fairly demanding apartment shops, but decent pay, if you can remember a lot of details.
Corporate Research International (CoRI) OK, but not a lot of action in my area.
Cirrus Marketing Consultants I've only got IKEA shops from them, which are detailed and take a LOT of time to fill out the report. 3-4 hours on the report, 3-4 in store. Flat rate pay. If you can do the whole thing in 6 hours it's $10 hour (minus the $5-6 you pay for lunch.) The best I've done is 7 hours.
Amusement Advantage Go to the Los Angeles Science museam, take someone with you, pay admission for 2, $14 each, evaluate lots of things-they figure 3-4 hours at the location-pay for meals for two, go to an event and pay that admission, another $15-20, oh yeah, parking too. $65. Good if you want to take a child maybe, but not for the pay.
[www.a-closer-look.com] Not much in my area, and a lot of $5 and $10.
Ann Michaels & Associates Ltd. -- [www.ishopforyou.com] Decent pay when you can get one. Not much available here.
-- [www.beyondhello.com] No action yet
www.certified.com] Some decent paying
-- [www.jancyn.com] Were ok a year ago when I started this, but now (I think) a lot of womens sizing shops, count the number of blouses at $x on the rack. Maybe it's good for women.
[www.mystery-shoppers.com] I don't know which this is, there are at least 5 who use those words.
-- [www.nwlpc.com] Did a few for them, ok, but $20 for an apartment shop no good.
www.shopnchek.com.] (Uses Sassie I think) Have lot of $10-15 shops, but by the time I drive to the shop I've used up the time.

I may be wrong, but I think MarketForce is what Shopnchek is now called.

Both CoRI and Maritz do a lot of gas stations, MFI does a lot of fast food shops. But there are other companies that do gas and other companies that do fast food.

Iam listed as a complainer, a vindictive old man, a troublemaker and other nasty names. However, I know who screws who and am not afraid to use my vindictive nature to tell newbees about who will put it to you.
Corporate Research Int. CORI=tests, low pay and they will find a million ways not to pay you.
ATH Power consultants. They are trouble as they have many departments who do not know what the other has agreed to. Stay away.
Tell us about Us. They are a major donut company shopping company. They were thrown out of an area by this major donut company and did not pay their shoppers.
Now the good ones; Bare International, A closer look, Beyond Hello (they deactivated me after I was spotted) They are still OK., Coyle Hospitality, Feedback Plus, Gamefish Consultants, Informa and Spies in Disguise.
I have no problems with telling someone the good ones and the bad ones should be avoided like the plague.

Anyone ever work for GameFilm consultants, doing the video shop? I am wondering if anyone can give me any insight on the company and working for them. Any opinions are hugely appreciated!

On the index page, at the top, you will see "Search". Click on that and it will open an inquiry box. Just type in GameFilms and select the time period you are interested in. Probably 'in the last year' will give you a good sense of where and when the discussions have taken place that might be relevant. Can't help you beyond that because I've not done anything with them in more than a year because they offer almost nothing in my area.

That's what I was wondering, they are saying to me that they are going to cover all my travel expenses up front like rental cars and airline tickets, etc. Just wanted to know if this was a serious job that I could actually support myself on or if it's like others where I would use my own car, gas, car upkeep, etc. So if you used to work with them, then fill me in, they also say they pay between $75-$135 a day.

This sounds like a scam using their name. I would contact the firm directly by going to their website, calling them up, and asking if they sent you such a solicitation, if you cannot tell any other way. If you have not been shopping for them, this does not sound like an offer they would make. It sounds like one a scammer would make. Are they sending you a check as well? How did they find you?

It is from GameFilms in Austin, TX. I am scheduled to go to an orientation, it isn't a scam but it does so far sound a bit too good to be true to me. They also guaranteed a minimum of 12 working days a month.

Yes, what I did here was just your standard, mundane, minimally paid mystery shopping. There are companies that fly you around the country to do jobs and indeed the pay you mention is in line with that but believe me, you earn every dime. And if you have not mystery shopped for them before or have outstanding qualifications in the field, one would wonder. So keep your wallet closed and see what it is about. If you did not sign up at their website [www.gamefilmconsultants.com] be especially leery.

I have only been paid per job by them, and they pay per contract. But as to the rest, if you know it isn't a scam, then I don't know what else to say. They certainly are not listing jobs that pay like that on their sassie site. How did they find you?

They had an ad on craigslist in Austin, I then spoke to a contact both via email and by phone. I was invited to an orientation.

Unfortunately 'whois.net' doesn't give a whole lot of information about their website. It simply states:
Administrative Contact, Technical Contact:
Game Film Consultants jstern@gamefilmconsultants.com
PO Box 10027
Austin, TX 78766
US
866-334-3456
If you have been emailing with xxx@gamefilmconsultants.com you are probably okay, but do be cautious.
