It's a First ! A 10 rating from Intellishop !!

I am sorry but I just had to pat myself on the back and post this review (no client name of course).

I haven't worked for them since the middle of last year due to the low pay, slow pay and snippy editors.

This has to be an anomaly - a 10 rating - never happened to me before (with them) and nice comments to boot !

Maybe they have been reading the forum ...

I have done a lot of shops for them. I have received only a handful of 10's but they do happen when its a full moon and Saturn is in retrograde.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
techman were we feeling a little snarky? I am not feeling well and making me laugh so hard I had a coughing fit was not nice.

Boutique I can tell if my report was positive, negative or somewhere in between by the rating I receive. If it is a 10, then I had put in that I received awesome service and the associate did their job. An 8 was several points not hit by the associate. Lastly a 5 is such bad service by the associate that I had to fight the editor on getting my report accepted. Yes I have a few 5's with this msc and only with this msc. I wish I was kidding about the rating but I have doubled checked my notes with each shop and it always coincides.

Gypsymonkey -there probably is a correlation.

I didn't give the actual establishment a totally glowing report, there were a few minor negs - but I did comment about how the clerk was calm in the face of complications and she kept things running smoothly and professionally. Maybe that was the trigger.

I just received a 10 also. I have had issues with one of the schedulers and one of their proofreaders. Each time I did not let the issue go. I got my satisfaction both times. I also only do their shops that I get a big bonus.
I don't get it. I've never received anything BUT a 10 from them. I know I'm no better at report writing than the rest of you, so why the discrepancy? I'm sure the individual editors differ in their own scoring, whether intentionally or not. Are there different editors for different states or regions?

Hey guys,

I've been on here in the past, but I just want to touch base again and reiterate that we do not, in ANY WAY, give you a negative score if you've had a negative experience. I think the issue of this matter is the tone people use when they write the report--how you construct a sentence is everything.

We are not Yelp. As a mystery shopper, we need you to be the eyes and the ears--we want you to tell us what happened. What we see often is people write their reports as how the shop SHOULD have happened, what SHOULD have been said, and yes, we take points off for giving opinions in reports.

Giving personal opinions is what people do in focus groups, not mystery shops. Instead of saying, "the floor should have been mopped, the toilet needed to be cleaned, it took me forever to get my food, I felt that the salesperson was rude and I was offended," try saying, "the floor was dirty, the toilet had stains, I received my meal after the people in line behind me received their food, the salesperson was using profane language and/or racial slurs during the shop" etc.

There are some reports where the client wants to know your opinion, which is usually in the last narrative box. However, unless you are specifically asked for your opinion, you need to keep it out of the report.

Trust me, I've had some terrible service before. I've been blown off because I'm a woman and ignored because I was broke college student. When writing out a report, it is instinct to write a negative review as opposed to an objective report. You are dealing with these people directly and it's hard to not take things personally, but that's what mystery shoppers are supposed to do. Report objectively what happened instead of letting the emotional response take over.

I hope this helps. Again, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to PM me or shoot me an email at sara.petersen@intelli-shop.com.
Intellisara, I notice you did not mention again that Intellishop's employees are required to respond to every email. I assume that has changed? I sent an email to a scheduler two days ago regarding a shop that was available. I did not receive a reply within 24 hours so I sent yet another email through the contact us. I have yet to receive a reply and now the shop is no longer available. It was a shop with a decent bonus, $30 total. Do you have any comments for us on this? Is this normal? You've stated several times that you are required to read and respond to every email. I've given details before of emails that did not get responded to and yet you still claim it never happens. Now it has happened again.

Dear IntelliSara,

I do believe that the shoppers here know the difference between turning in an objective report and posting on "Yelp". I believe that the unusually high pattern of low shopper scores and demands for previously submitted information by Intellishop editors should be of concern to you in the interest of shopper retention.....or not.
I've gotten lots of 10s from Intellishop in the past 6 months, and the same comment that the OP got. It could be the same editor, or that the editors have been instructed to give this rating unless there's a problem with the shopper's report. After last year's editors repeatedly taking off points for "grammatical errors" that didn't exist, this new approach is a breath of fresh air!
We all like to side with fellow shoppers and say that the editors are unreasonable. I'd like to think that we all know the difference between objective and subjective. However, until I actually see some reports as submitted the first time, I'll have to reserve judgment.

I'd like to take a little walk in an editor's shoes. Wouldn't we all like to see some sample reports?

One of the reason's Intellishop is on my new shopper don't join list. Apparently they found another shopper that they preferred for the job or who applied first and didn't want to waste time emailing you the bad news.

It may have been IntelliSara who, a couple months ago, posted the points deduction system used in grading our reports. It was enlightening.
The most egregious conduct I have ever observed for IS (an attendant setting cash aside instead of into the register and claiming that the receipt dispenser was jammed) earned me a 10 when reported.
I still get the occasional phantom grammar error single point deduction. I used to obsess, but anymore I glance at my pdf copy of the report, see there's nothing there, and just move on.
I hope some day to get the point where I just move on without even glancing.
Dear Boutique,

Unfortunately, due to a software glitch recently discovered in our online reporting system, you were inadvertently given a grade of "10". This was incorrect. Your actual grade was "1.0".

Because we had to contact you to correct this, your score has been lowered to "0.".

Thanks for using Intellishop's SASSIE online reporting system!

Sincerely,

Proofreader 4
The only time I've had a problem, lots of problems, with Intelli is with Proofreader 4.
When I came back doing Intellishop, I did notice the absence of Proofreader 4.
Getting 10s made me wonder if he/she was on extended leave. How did the
Proofreader manage to get the info already on my report without contacting me?

Boutique, way to go! Buy a lottery ticket. It could be your day.
I received a 10 for one shop this month but every spotter report received a lower score. Proofreader5 gave a 6 on one because they had to contact me. I kept trying to contact them even calling the company I never received a reply to anything. They griped that the info was not all on one page, but their report printed that way and I scanned the page directly. They didn't even have the winner survey available to print on their site, it was one 10 page report with multiple surveys split between pages and no place for a signature. I used up an ink cartrdge doing their shops in one week.
I give Intelishop a 2/10 because I had to contact them multiple times and they never replied.

Let's hope Proofreader 4 or 5 does not get hold of your report. You never know, they may find some contractions you were
never aware of using. Keep your fingers crossed.
i do'nt no why, i ca'nt never get no ten's from them at Intilleshop's: but there not the only one's what give me pour mark's they all do it and if it keep's hapening............... me and them are gonna half to talk!
