Walmart....Does this sound fishy to you??

I got this email today and it just sounds a little like spam to me. Did anyone else get this email? It is directly from "Walmart." When I click on the "Apply Now" button it takes me to a site to apply. The links to go to other areas of the "site" don't work. And I can't copy and paste what is written above the application. Overall, just sounds too good to be true. Pays $200 a week, no fee, keep what you buy. Plus wouldn't Walmart hire a mystery shopping company to do their shops for them? I have been mystery shopping for over 10 years and have never heard of this from Walmart. Below is the text of the email:

Do you shop at Walmart?
Do you know that you can shop at Walmart and get paid for that.
And even better, keep all the products you purchased.
We are hiring today and we need you in our team.
WalmartShopper is needing people just like you to inspect our employees and to offer better services to our clients.

You will be contacted shortly to validate your position.

I really thought that Walmart didn't care about how their employee were with customers or offering better service.
To answer your question, it doesn't sound "fishy". It sounds "phishy".
It's a perfect example of Phishing.

There are two types of people in this world: Those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.

There are five words that scream "SCAM". I would list them, but I don't really feel like helping out the scammers to become better scammers. (Scammers, just to help you, one of those words is "you".)

They don't pay their employees half that!

When you scan your mouse over the email address, what does it say?
Walmart is too cheap to pay for something like that. A truck driver told me one time that while the truck is being unloaded, he is supposed to walk around the store and report on various things he sees.

Your radar is most definitely fine tuned. Spam.
LOL. And now they have sent me a check for $915. HELLO SCAMMERS! I wish I knew what to do to turn these people in, but I am sure they are using fake names.

These people are scammers. They are trying to cheat unsuspecting people out of money. A lot of scams have been reported, and there have been a lot of discussions on the forum of different types of scams. As you continue reading, you will come across many discussions that contain this information. To find discussions right away, use the search function and type in "scam" or other variations of the word and select "all dates." You can read more than you ever wanted to know about scams that are out there.
Walmart does not have mystery shops...

Walmart has tobacco, alcohol, and M-rated video game compliance shops all of the time. Not to mention laptop/tablet/smartphone shops, for the stores with those kiosks in them. Walmart is constantly shopped.

------------------------------------------------
Plan the work. Work the plan.
Those are separate from the corporation itself though... Their actual employees are not shopped. I should note I do not live in the US and Walmart locations here do not sell smokes. They rent out space to companies like Wine Rack but only in certain locations. Same with hair salons. Those companies and their employees are not Walmart employees. The only thing I can think of is yes, Walmart Wireless are shopped but by research firms, cell phone providers and manufacturers. Very seldom.

In the future, I would recommend that you NEVER click on a link unless you are sure who it came from. Scammers can "attach" themselves to all your information through your Internet connection/computer.
