Is secretshopper.com still in business?

I've done a few shops for them over the past two years and was looking to find another one. When I tried to login, I was rejected, saying there was no such shopper. So early this week I e-mailed them twice and also left a phone message. No return on either. So I figured a way to get around all of that. I'd open a new account. So I go through the process and am rejected as a new shopper because my social security number shows that I'm already a shopper. BTW, I checked and double checked my login info and it is correct.

So are these folks still in business? If so, any ideas how to contact them?

Thanks.

Still in business. They are Sights on Service. You were probably deactivated because of inactivity and might need to be reactivated.

I do their haircut shops for my children. They don't have many shops in my area. Mostly low-pay fitness shops, a cable company, and a hair salon.

I really liked the highlights I got with my shop. My boyfriend said it the best haircut/style he had ever seen on me.

Shopping across Indiana but mostly around Indianapolis.
Last shop I did was only two months ago, so I'm not even eligible to repeat that shop. As a matter of fact just today I deposited their check from my last shop. I just wanted to check the site to see what was available. I've gone a lot longer than that in the past with no issues.

Thanks for the replies. If any of you have a close working relationship with anyone there, please tell them that shopper 802486 would like to find out what's going on.

Just got an email from them and got into my account via smartphone. I used to do the veterinarian shops. I was considering downloading their app but not after reading the slow pay, check lost in the mail, $35 stop payment fee for a $30 Shopper pay still owed...from bunch of other posters.

First their regular website is not working right with my smartphone. Maybe that's why they built a phone app. The radius & city is glitchy and doesn't click on what I click. Then after fiddling, I get my area...try to find url link, blue or some live link...to show me the pre-guidelines, nothing. So I decide to click on hot button, Schedule, but no window pops up. I check the window pages to see if it is behind...no luck.

I go back look at email, no pre-guideline info. I don't know about any other Shoppers, but I do not apply or self-assign to any shop until I know the scope of the project!

I wrote to the generic Scheduler ( pet peeve), in typical automaton style they shot back a generic answer...RTM read the manual, rather than answer my question as to what do they need done. Exasperating, I so dislike companies who hide behind anonymity when trying to do business. I will try to see if I have any luck using a PC and see if any "buttons" or windows pop up showing the pre-guidelines.

Otherwise, forget it! If they can't take the time to have a real person assigned as a Scheduler, there will probably be problems all around. I browsed this forum and found one brave Scheduler who gave his name on an older post, with the same generic email address. From reading the forum, it looks like they've gone downhill since the days when I did those medical shops.
I found Secret Shopper, a.k.a. Sights On Service phone number but no names of any Schedulers. They only have sent me the generic Coordinator email (763) 525-1460

I'm not willing at this time to download their app on Google Playstore. I'm going to try my PC to see if I can see the pre-guidelines...but I'm losing confidence in them. After reading some of these posts, I'm not sure I want to do biz with them again.

Although, its been years since I did those vet shops...pretty sure I got paid. I may just have to look over my account receivables...thought I was square and they were good to work for.

Water under the bridge if I wasn't paid...but going forward with them...not sure. Will keep you updated. Let me know how your situation turns out.
Eh, they're at the bottom of my list after my last shop with them. I did 5-10 shops with them. All but one got paid. They claimed to have sent my check; however, I never received it. Since the MSC never got the check back, they stated they would charge a fee, which was basically more than what I was owed to get the check.

This was in Fall of 2013; still no resolution. They'll likely never see my business ever again.

Well, I finally got someone to answer the phone at Sights on Service. I was told that I had been dropped because "I was not able to remain anonymous" while doing my last shop. I certainly did not reveal myself. I guess the shop figured out I was the secret shopper. Too bad they reported that info, because the shop always did a nice job and always got good reports. Oh well, guess I'll just have to get my haircuts elsewhere now. smiling smiley Or next time I go there, I'll have something to talk about.

SecretShopper has a definite superiority complex, that's for certain. I'm finding that a few of these companies have real chips on their shoulders, and basically will dump newer shoppers for nothing or issues on their ends.

It's pretty entertaining when then they dump you from a shop/the site because they didn't bother checking their emails, then have to send out desperate Sassie-wide recruiting emails to try to find shoppers to fill the gaps at massive bonuses. Oops.

My other personal favorite was when a sassy (see what I did there?) scheduler decided she was going to start handing out ultimatums after she changed a shop requirement post-application and "tarnish my name". I literally have to turn down assignments that are being offered because I'm booked up, so I think there's a little bit of an inflated scheduler ego situation running rampant.
I am scheduled to do my first shops for them tonight. After reading all of this, I'm wondering if I should cancel the shops. I'm not thrilled with some of the parameters of the shop anyway.

It's a high end retail shop and I have to take a printed letter if I wish to return the item. (Which I do because I am not in the market to purchase high end retail ATM) and a $15 shop is hardly going to cover high end retail. lol

The letter would reveal me as a mystery shopper however and I'm scared they'd use that as an excuse not to accept the shop.

Think I am going to send an email and decline this.
I think that I have been deactivated from the MSC because I rescheduled a shop. When the scheduler called to offer the shop, I told her that I was fairly new at MSing. She didn't have a problem with this news. Anyway, I left my house two hours before I was to be there. Well, just my luck - I got stuck in heavy traffic because of a bad accident on the freeway. I called the scheduler and left a voicemail as soon as I could get off of the freeway to make the call. I told her about being hung up in traffic due to an accident and that I may not able to make it to the shop in time, but that I would try. Turns out that I arrived at the location too late to do the shop. I still had not heard from the scheduler, so I called again and left another voicemail and offered to do the shop the next day. After arriving home, I sent the scheduler an email to let her know what had happened. She never called me back, but she sent an email around 10:00 AM the next day and told me to go ahead and do the shop that day. I replied and told her that I was on my way. When I arrived at the location, I checked my email and was surprised to see another email from her to say that the shop was cancelled. I was horrified and confused as heck. I replied to let her know that I was at the location and requested a reason as to why she cancelled the shop. She never replied or had the courtesy to call. About a month later, I tried to log in and was denied access. So, I figure that I was deactivated. After reading other negative posts regarding this company, my feelings are not hurt over being deactivated.

So I stopped by the haircut shop today. Since this was the only shop I did for the company, it was pretty easy to figure out which shop identified and outed me. Since I no longer worked for them, I figured that my confidentiality was no longer an issue and since the shop knew that I was the secret shopper, it wasn't a big surprise when I asked what happened. They told me that they get notified when a secret shopper makes a report and apparently the info the shop gets is specific enough to let them know of the date and time the secret shopper was there. So since I did the shop three or four times, all they had to do was match up their computer records to the customer who was there at those times. Still not sure why they outed me, since my reports were always positive. Oh well, the good news is that I liked their work and they will still be my go to haircut place even if I have to pay for it myself. smiling smiley

I just accepted my first job with this company. It's a boutique and I have to make a purchase and will be reimbursed up to $15. Maybe I'll get a keychain! I'm a little nervous about working for them after reading these comments.

I have done many shops for them and never had an issue. I understand from the forum there is a second company that has a similar name which is evidently not legit. There will always be shoppers who have problems with almost every company but I just wanted to chime in positively. My only issue with them right now is that they have been releasing jobs prior to their published release date so they are all gone when i look on the correct day. I have finally learned I need to check the board early.
Done a handful of shops for them. I am do to get a check for 2 shops and site says check will be sent 11/20/14. So we shall see if they pay. They always have in the past.

I did a shop in Oct for them with a $300 reimbursement. It's scheduled to pay in Dec. I did the same shop last year and they paid no problem. It worried me until the check cleared last time, and it will worry me until the check clears this time.

Seriously, nobody cares that you're offended.
Off the topic but this is the only thread I found when doing search for this company.
Secret shopper has food delivery shops in my city. I have never taken one but they increased the reimbursement from $10 to $15. I got an email about a shop yesterday. Since there are only a few days left in the month, let alone the year, I decided to take a look at the shop as I thought (my fault for thinking) perhaps there would be a bonus. No bonus mentioned but upon reading the guidelines and looking at the menu for the restaurant my out of pocket for the order would be a minimum of $23. The delivery fee is $15 or $25. I am not sure of which as the restaurant quotes $25 and the delivery company quotes $15 and then I would probably want to tip the delivery driver. There is no mention of reimbursing the delivery fee or the tip. It also says if the restaurant does not use this delivery service you are required to pick the food up yourself??? It seems to me they are testing the delivery service so why use restaurants that do not use the service? These jobs seem to be taken so for those of you who have done them...are you truly out of pocket $35 or so for the least expensive meal at this place for one person with delivery that needs to be within 3 miles? Or is there some other draw to take this shop?
