Maritz assigned shops limit

There have been questions and confusion, me included, concerning the number of shops Maritz allows per month and the job board coming up blank. My job board has come up blank several times over the past year. I was finally able to speak with a supervisor and get some clarification. I was told that there is a limit of 75 shops per month that can be self-assigned and appear on the job board. And the 75 shops include all projects that Maritz offers - banks, gas stations, diy, etc. Go over 75 and the job board goes blank. As you de-brief visits and go below 75 the job board should open up again. The schedulers I spoke with were not aware of this and I don't see it anywhere in Maritz's documentation. But this is what the supervisor told me. I am glad to get this info as I can now plan my month(s) accordingly.

I was also told by the supervisor that 5 call per day and 20 per week are for each project, not a total of both bank projects that require a phone call.

I am one of the shoppers that likes Maritz, despite their gaps in comunication, and would do more with them if rules allowed, but it is what it is. I will be forced to diversify more than I do, but that should be a good thing.

Diversification is always a good thing, especially in Mystery Shopping. Also, I diversify with companies that pay at different times, e.g. I work with companies that pay within 30 days, between 30 & 60 days, and a few that take up to 90 days to pay. That way, if I have a bad month, it becomes a little less painful knowing that I'll have some 60 and 90 day payments coming in.

^Yep.

I'll pick up CORI and RSG shops sometimes just because they pay quick, and I have high outlay shops later. I only pay for shops out of shops.

Jake, thanks for the info on the bank phone calls. I was told it was five per day total, glad to find out it's five per day per project. I may pick up some of a second project now that I'm not so limited on the phone calls. I like the project that gives you a couple of weeks to shop due to the flexibility of it. That second project ties down to a tighter time frame so its more restrictive. Seventy five is a generous limit especially since its not a restrictive total for the month and we can add shops as we report shops.

Maritz is one of my favorite companies for several reasons. One reason is that the people who answer the phone talk Texan and I can understand them. Another reason is I can schedule throughout the month. Another reason is some of the work is recurring. Another reason is that I get a two week window on one of my projects. Another reason is that they pay me. I know they don't have the best paying jobs in the wide world but I'd rather have $50 worth of work I can depend on than $75 or $100 I may or may not get, probably not. Just me, I like less excitement.

There are exasperating technical issues but hey, I'm not perfect either. All in all, an A+ company if you're willing to work a large quantity of lower paying jobs to get what you want.

Well, I just grabbed a route which put my total assignments over 75. I still see the expected number of potential assignments on the job board. I'm not crazy enough to actually try to self-assign any more, to see if I can.
Hi Mary - hope you are doing well, I had been told by several schedulers in the past that 5 per day and 20 per week is the limit. This was the first time I was able to speak with a supervisor and she said it is 5 per project. I asked her in a couple of different ways but I'm still a little skeptical. I have a bunch of combos and telephone only shops for Sep and I'll give it a try and see if I get a negative reaction. I'll let you know.

James B, I think I will take your advice and diversify. Like Mary, Maritz is one of my favorites. But you know what is said about eggs and baskets.

Ishmael, the supervisor said formal routes are the exception.
Can't help you Bill - I don't do formal routes. Perhaps you can pick up local stations one at a time from Maritz. I don't know what a treat shop is but I doubt I would do 20 for a net profit of $75 (less auto expense). Is the $125 re-embursed?
Alright, now I am confused. Is the 5 shops per day limit per client? Say I am doing shops for three clients. I can do 5 for A, 5 for B and 5 for C or is it just one client that won't allow more than 5 in one day?
Gogo, the limit is not on shops. The limit is on the phone calls. As far as I know, there are three different bank projects. One requires a phone call and a visit. The second requires a visit only. The third requires a phone call only.

There is a limit of five phone calls per day. The confusion has been that we don't know for sure if the limit is five total phone calls per day for all projects combined, or if the limit is five phone calls per day per project. We get conflicting information depending on who's giving it out.

My understanding is that the limit on visits is 20 per week and 60 per month. I don't think there is a daily limit. For a long time I thought there was a daily limit of five and then someone told me there is no daily limit on the shops, just on the phone calls.

I may know what I'm talking about. Or not. I'll let you know in a month or so. This week I did 16 bank shops in one day based on the information there was no limit on the number of visits. Fingers crossed, here's hoping.

Gogo, Mary,

There is a daily limit of 5 phone calls per day, 20 per week with a max of 60 per month. I was told today, by a supervisor, that this is per project. The information I had prior to this by schedulers was that it was 5/20/60 total (not by project). As far as bank visits, I have done as many as 13 or 14 in one day and regularly do 6 to 8. None of them have bounced.

Next month I will make more than 5 phone calls in one day and see if the schedulers or the supervisor are right. I would like to think the supervisor is correct.

They don't make it easy, do they?
BillBryan, you should edit one of your posts... since you named the MSC in one and the client in the other.
