Presto Instashop

Anyone else having issues with login? I was able to complete one shop, now I'm unable to login. I've tried the reset password link several times but I'm not receiving the email to proceed with that. I don't know how to get a hold of Presto help either.

If you are unable to log in and can't reset your password, chances are that you either didn't create a shopper account, or you typoed your email address. Try creating an account and make sure that your email address is spelled correctly.
thumbs down Ran around wasting gas like an idiot on this one.

I've used Presto Mobile for a while to find shops, but the Insta-Shop was new to me, so I thought I'd try it out today. Before I set out on a long trek, I figured I'd try it out on the closest location to me - 15 minutes away. I saw there was a shop near me, so I headed out, figuring I'd try to get that one first. If it worked, I'd head to the next city where I had some other business I could tend to.

I get to the parking lot, log in and it says all the shops have been filled - they reached their limit. I drove home.

I looked at it on the computer again, and they were still there. Curious, I clicked on the location nearest me. It said it was assigned to me and I had minutes and seconds (didn't specify how many) to complete the shop. Oops. I didn't realize I had accepted it earlier when I looked at it, but okay.

I drove back to the location again. Logged in, brought up the shop and verify location. It said that it had found my location, now it was going to check the distance. Although I was sitting in the parking lot, it said I was too far away. I walked up to the building. Still too far away. I sat at a table. Still to far away.

I gave up and came home again.

I still see there are locations available, but I think I've spent enough gas money for nothing.

Thumbs down on this one..

LJ,

Really sorry you spent so much time unsuccessfully trying to get your location verified (and the 30 minutes of driving - that must have been frustrating).

May I ask if you were using your mobile device or a computer? It sounds like you were using your computer. If so, what were you using for WIFI?

We've seen some instances in which the WIFI reports your computer's location pretty far off from where it actually is (WIFI's not always as accurate as GPS).

If you decide to give us another try and you still can't your location to locate, we'll still accept your shop if you have a receipt. Just go to [prestoshoppers.uservoice.com] and post an email to tech support and they'll tell you how to submit your shop and get paid.

We've filled about 500 of the 1000 shops, so there should still be some available for awhile!

FYI to other reading this: More tips and help are available on the 1000 Cups of Coffee thread at [www.mysteryshopforum.com]
That's weird... It said they'd been filled. But then, like I said, once home they were back again.

I was using my phone. Android OS version 2.2.3

LJ,

You were probably running into the "Personal Limits" of this project. You can only do one visit per location, so if you were already assigned one visit it would lock you out of that location (but leave it available for other shoppers).

Once your shop hit its one hour expiration it would be released to you again - maybe that's what happened here.

Thanks for the clarification on your Android device. According to our developers, 2.2.3 has reported some problems with geolocation in Presto. We have gotten some successful 2.2.3 shops but we actually only test back to 2.3.3 ourselves.
It won't let me sign up.

Live your life in such a way that when your feet hit the floor in the morning; the devil shudders...And yells OH #%*+! SHE'S AWAKE!
That makes sense, Jack; I bet that's exactly what happened. Thank you for the explanation. I will try that location again tomorrow with another newer phone and see what happens. Now I'm curious and determined to figure out where the problem was. I'll be taking two different phones. I'm on a mission.

I completed and was paid for my first Insta-Shop. Claimed a second, completed shop, tried to submit survey and the survey froze. After reloading the page, I was unable to login again. I tried resetting my password several times but received no link. I looked in junk mail.

I also used the help link provided, unfortunately, the response was not helpful at all. I was told that I'm not supposed to claim shops from home. I'm not at home, I'm traveling. I used my Android to claim and complete. I was also told that I should switch my email provider. I've been shopping for over 2 years with this email provider with no problems.

Not once did Customer Care explain why I was no longer able to login. Nor did they instruct me on how to get back into my account.
LJ, that happened to me too. It said that the quota for that particular coffee project had been filled. That was while I was at the location, having already bought my coffees (one free, one paid), answered the questions, and was uploading my receipt... I hit the back button and it let me finish and submit my survey. Weird!

I was also using my old Android device.

I did my shop at a gas station. They gave me four punchcards punched through, for four additional free coffees.

My husband did one of these yesterday morning at a standalone location and was given a free thermos. They didn't even tell him why, they just handed him his coffee in the Thermos and told him he'd won, and that anytime he came back with the Thermos, he'd get refills for $1. It's pretty nice... stainless steel with a leather sleeve.

Plan the work. Work the plan.
This is amazing. I was paid the day after I did my shop and approved instantly.

Every shop should be like this, seriously, with the option to delay by a day or two for route building.
I did a few of the presto coffee shops. They were some hiccups with the location assigning me the shop and it not being clear that was the case until I logged out and logged back in. Other than that it went off great.
