I'm aware they exist.

Do I have to remain aware all through October?

Plan the work. Work the plan.
They fixed it. I wondered how long it would tak them.

Now it says, Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
I have a haircut shop in twenty minutes. Getting fifteen inches (last I measured, may be more now) chopped off and donated.

I was diagnosed with Stage 2 lobular carcinoma of the left breast last November of 2013. Had my mastectomy in Jan of 2014, went thru chemo from March thru May and radiation from June thru August. I'm doing well! My port comes out in two weeks. I am a 61 year old female in otherwise great health and have had mammograms every year for the past 21 years! I would urge EVERY FEMALE to consider getting mammograms as recommended by their primary care physician! On a somewhat related note, I haven't done much in the way of mystery shopping for the past year or so, but I do enjoy reading this forum and gleaning all I can!! I am relaxing the rest of the year, since I'm no longer at the doctor's every other day or so (so it seemed!), and will probably pick up more of the mystery shopping next year!

There's a mystery shop we could use... evaluate a radiology clinic....

Time to build a bigger bridge.

OMG, I'm picturing my review on how badly they squished my boobies. Will we have to time exactly how long each boob was smashed like a pancake? In seconds, of course? But wait, I'm sure they won't let me use my cell phone while I'm getting a mammy, so I guess I'll have to invest in one of those geeky watches.

I suppose they'd want us to measure the percentage of squishness the tech achieved. For each boob, of course. Hmmm... Guess I'd better bring a ruler. Or maybe they'd accept an estimate of pain level for that measurement.

I'm sure we'd have to evaluate how cold the machine was. So I'll have to slip a thermometer into my pocket, too.

I'm afraid I draw the line at submitting photos, though. After all, I wouldn't want to jeopardize my identity as a MS.
Or..........how about evaluating the radiation clinic where I went for my radiation??? Totally different from getting a mammogram! On my first visit to be evaluated as to where they would radiate, they
had to mark my left chest area with black marker (washable) to get an idea of where to do whatever they do!! Anyhow, I had to laugh because when they were done, the marker outline on my chest looked
more like an outline of the State of Kansas!!! ha ha!!! Then the radiation machine reminded me of a
giant Cyclops with one rectangular eye with l-o-n-g metallic lashes that would open and close when the radiation is/was emitted! Don't know what kind of questions they could ask about that!!

BTW, ONE out of EVERY EIGHT women will develop breast cancer, and THIS YEAR, approximately
2,000 MEN will be diagnosed with breast cancer as well!!! Awareness is a good thing! Knowledge is
power!!
Now there is something we need to be aware of this month:
Men's breasts.
I will try to remember to check them out all month long.
My mother and sister are comparing their experiences. My mom went to the local hospital years ago and they put her in a room, let my dad in to visit and told them prepare to die.
My sister is driving 600 miles to go to the Cancer Center of America and they are putting her up in a nice hotel, driving her back and for in a limo, nice shuttle bus or van. Giving her hugs, smiles and encouragement. And the hospital food is better than what they get at a restaraunt.
If you would like some refridgerator magnets with pink ribbons, go do a BOA teller shop. I went to the teller at the main downtown branch and they gave me a big handfull of them and told me they still have boxes of them.

I have never seen anyone at the teller there as it's a $3 parking garage fee for 15 minutes and they don't validate. I only went there as I was shopping the parking garage company and had a few MS checks to deposit.

The cashier must have saw the names on the checks and I had to fight with her to not see a banker, and then she called a banker to the teller area and I just had to walk away as the banker was holding up a brocure and still talking to me to get out of there as they would not stop pitching some free program to add on to my "Advantage Checking" account that I've had for 15 years.

Note to self:
Depost all MS checks at the same branch and just consider it ruined for future teller shopping.

Use the ATM to make your deposits. I never go into branches anymore. (I don't do bank shops.)

Or better yet, use the mobile deposit feature on your smartphone! :-)

I worked in a hospital and our machine broke, while someone was having a mammogram. She was stuck there for a couple hours until the problem was resolved.
To all females - get a mammogram once every year, ALSO do a breast self-exam once every month. Love to all, Night Owl.
