I'm thinking about buying a new car!

And I thought to myself "Self if you are thinking of buying a new car then why not incorporate your search with a couple of shops?" But after looking at my usual shops I only see car shops from two MSC's one of them I know have heavy narratives but only pay $20.00 The other I have been warned about on this board.

Can any of you make a suggestion as to which MSC's does car shops that pay more than $20.00? I don't mind heavy narratives if the pay is commiserate with the work. I hope this doesn't violate any IA's because that is certainly not my intention :-)

I have been paid as much as $90 to shop a dealership for one of those MSCs, non-video. The other, I've made, I think $60 or so for a non-video shop.

I wasn't in the market for a car at the time, though. When I was, I took them at close to base pay just to see what was available at the time as far as rebates and price promotions.

Why not expand your search parameters or reach out to the schedulers to see if there is a bonus on one of those dealerships that may be outside of your normal search limits?

Thanks for your response BBird, I have expanded up to 100 miles, but the company that I know of that does dealerships has never bonused anything as far as I know.

Since no clients have been named, are you talking about Bestmark?? They bonus and have travel pay. Call them directly.

Last year, the day after I updated my profile to include my husband's truck, I received a desperate phone call to complete an oil change shop 100 miles away. The pay was increased insanely, plus I received travel pay, plus they threw me a dealership shop on the way back with a pretty hefty bonus as well.

Free oil change, plus I came out about $170 ahead on those two shops alone.

There is a couple of companies that offer dealership
shops that involve also shopping their competitors in
the same or nearby town. Usually pays around 200 total for
the few locations give or take depending on how much of a bonus you
can get out of them.

I got $75 (their normal fee) for a dealership that was two parts. You had to go back for a second visit.

You had to do phone training to be considered....

I do not remember the MSC that did this one.
Hi, I have a shop with this company tomorrow, I was just reading the guidelines for a new car shop, it says shop 2 hours before the dealership closes, to allow time for a test drive. Does anyone know if that is a typo, normally guidelines say shop AT LEAST 2 hours before closing. I did call the MSC, but wondered if anyone can share some insight. thanks

Research Services Group, although they go by a new name now. Mystery Researchers maybe? I did a couple of those $75 shops. Never again.
