GFK Self-Assign Issue for wings shops

I think it's the software because I've noticed that on other companies. It says self-assign qualified, then when I click on self-assign, another screen shows up like I can sign up, then in red letters above the box to put your email in it says "You are not qualified to accept this assignment" or something like that. For me it's usually because of rotation - I've done the shop too recently.

I was wondering that same thing, since he immediately got the gong.

I think I ran into the same problem you cited. I vaguely remember being told, by this MSC or another one who uses Sassie, that a scheduler needs to override it whenever an exception is waived. Self-assign does not work in these incidences.

Could it be the take out test needed to be completed first? There is a new test and I could not self assign until I passed it. Of course there should have a warning on Sassie to let you know.
You didn't lose money. You lost the potential to make money on that particular shop.

Sounds like someone else assigned the shop at the same time as you.

You are correct. The emails they send out cover this. The description/instructions will usually still show the orignial age restriction. The age restriction is still stuck somewhere in the verification process. I will email them and ask to be assigned, as I seem to get emailed on these (in my area) constantly. smiling smiley

I have quit doing shops for this company because of their confusing process of testing after a shop is assigned but the test cannot be accessed until the day it is due.

I think the age/gender specifications for this shop are silly. I'm female, but I take my hubby, and we've never had what I would call stellar service. Do they think the female servers give better service to men? I don't get it.
Phoebe70 – The client probably wants to have a specific balance of their evaluations for their demographics; maybe there's a variance on how a different demographic's were being treated or they just want other ways to look at their results? Whereas other clients don't care to specify a specific demographic for their reports, just a random sampling. When you random sample, you might not have acceptable sampling when taking focus on a specific demographic; this client apparently wanted to be able to do this. Does gender, age and race make a difference? Who knows.

I haven't felt a noticeable change in service for this client, but from other experiences, I have felt a difference in some fine-dining shops and up-scale bars when shopping alone vs. shopping with a female companion vs. shopping with a male companion. For example, I felt that the services I received were sub-par when I dined alone, compared to bringing a female companion around my age, or even an older person, like my mother.

Whether it's because of age, gender or race? Who knows if those were a factor in the services I received, but I definitely have felt a difference.

Shopping the Greater Denver Area, Colorado Springs and in-between in Colorado. 33 year old male and willing to travel!
Sometimes the assignment is already taken too and it says the same thing

There is a 5 day buffer between shops so if someone has done that location even thou the date may show up you actually cant self assign. Try emailing the scheduler. GFK used to be good now they suck. I used to be able to self assign and now cant. My rating is average of 9. I hope they go out of business soon so there 2 clients go to another better msp.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
You hope they go out of business (and a lot of people lose their jobs) because you can't self-assign? You're kidding, right?

It is not because I can no longer self-assign. It is their lack of communucation. It is the fact they don't respond to email. It is that they don't answer the phone and that their phone system is never updated so is info is old and incorrect.

I had the same problems with them. I wouldn't have much negative comments if they correct the issues that BuffaloNY101 mentioned. I agree that businesses that cannot do these basic things should not be in the business of providing evaluations of other businesses if they cannot pull up their own socks. That's just me but whatever. There are MSCs that are very stuck in the way that things are done and refuse to change even if all their best shoppers leave. There always have new Shoppers who will do the job and deal with the lack of communication.

I have that issue with the wings shops all the time and nobody ever responds when I have inquired about it. Namely whoever sent me the e-mail notifying me of the assignment. It has to be any age/gender for me to assign. Any other option won't so much as allow me to apply, let alone self assign. I don't think it's the system, it's whoever input the information onto the job board. I have funky issues with Bare from time to time when you have to select a certain date on self assign items. Often times it says "it must be done on x, y, or z; but you can't choose x, y, or z." Their schedulers are no help either. Like they all have that, if it's self assign and you can't assign yourself, too bad. You can't do it. Never mind that you are qualified.
I've completed several of these shops for GFK and, I've gotta say, I've never had a problem with the scheduler in my area. In fact, I once said, "Hey, I can't do this one but if you have one coming up fitting these particular parameters, I'll be happy to do it," and the scheduler offered the shop to me when it did fit my parameters. I wish I could remember the scheduler's name (I haven't done a shop for GFK in several months since the wings shops are typically the only ones in which I'm interested, and I haven't felt like going out for wings in awhile).
This is a shop I honestly love to complete (the wings are usually excellent!) and I love to assign! This month I have Ohio, PA and WV.

Dante,

You said, "This month I have Ohio, PA and WV." Does this mean you (schedulers) switch areas? Just curious.

And I love the wing shops also. Last time I chose boneless wings. I liked them but not as much.

This is my first full month as a scheduler, so I'm not sure. I like the area though.

Don't forget about rotations... If you have done a shop there in the past X days, you do not qualify. Check your profile and make sure that your age/gender are correct as well. They also might change the age/gender requirement and not change it in Sassie.
