Maritz and Allegiance Merging?

I wonder what this will mean for shoppers? I remember when CORI was bought out by SteriCycle. No good came of that.

Who is Allegiance? Also, can you tell us the source for this information?

Thank you, techman. That was helpful. Surely, you must have an opinion on the subject. smiling smiley

Sounds like they bought into someone they used as a vendor.

Recently, I've decided that Maritz has more modern sophistication than they let on. I'd bet a small amount, (I'd never bet more than a small amount on anything), that they have their own version of Photo DNA, for example.

It's way beyond my comprehension level, since I don't understand the role Allegiance played before the acquisition and/or how this benefits Maritz post-acquisition. From my perspective, it's a wait-and-see proposition to see if there's any noticeable impact to the shopper. smiling smiley

Ishmael, you're correct. I heard thru the grapevine that Maritz has something that alerts them if you use a photograph you ever used previously. Just because they prefer to conduct most of their shopper contacts on the phone doesn't mean they lack sophistication. It means they made a decision to do it that way for reasons of their own. If they wanted to do it differently, they would. Apparently they have one of the more successful businesses in the business. Color them green with a dollar sign.

They definately can detect if you use a photograph from a previous shop. I made the mistake of using the wrong photo and was asked to send the correct one, which I did. Perhaps they are really not Flintstonean.

Maritz had dedicated IT departments back in the early 1990s, possibly earlier, and tailored programs for individual clients. It is not because they lack the ability. From my perspective there would be two reasons to utilize more antiquated approaches to their mystery shopping division. For one, it has traditionally been a small, insignificant part of the overall organization and for another they are not overly inclined to make changes just to benefit their employees and contractors. If their recent push to acquire more mystery shopping clients means it will take on more importance within the organization it may eventually result in updates to their procedures on the MS side.

Looks like they are a Excel/Access software type company that makes graphs and charts to present the numbers for businesses.
