Gapbusters lunacy

For weeks I've been getting a call to do a restaurant shop for them. I keep telling them my number (WAY over the reimbursement) and they keep telling me they'll get back to me.
Finally I get a call saying they'll meet my number and asking when I can do it. I asked him to give me a call back in a half hour so I can line up a guest and determine which day to go.

Never heard back...

The shop is still on the board.

With all due respect, Hoju, I don't see it as lunacy on Gapbusters part. After "weeks of getting calls" they finally met your price, which you admit was "way over the reimbursement," and you've stalled them by asking for a half hour to get someone lined up to go with you. Odds are whoever you spoke to figured [rightly or wrongly] that when they called back they were going to be hit with another price increase on your part.

I would have asked for a three day window to complete the shop and then found someone to go with me who was available in that window.

I did ask for a window. I was told I needed to tell him right then what day specifically. The issue isn't that I kept increasing the price. I didn't. From the very beginning I told them how much it would cost to get me to do this shop. They call me at random times to ask if I'll take less and I keep telling them I won't. It's WAY too far.

Then I get a call saying they will finally meet my fee and expect me to tell them exactly when I can do it. I asked when it needed to be done by and I was told by next Monday but he would need to know right now what day I could do it.

I got the call back today, finally. I told her to put it on for the last day it's allowed and if I could do it sooner, I would process it as a reschedule. She said that was fine, then realized that apparently the increased fee was not yet authorized. Back at square one. This company is a hot mess.

The company is international based and thus has no idea where and how far things are. With that said once your price was accepted you should have had a day set to go you could do it. You also should have had a guest lined up if the shop required one. My only dislike with them is there is no number to contact them at.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
While waiting for them to get back with him he could have tentatively lined up a guest, but I don't see how it was possible to confirm his schedule or the guest's if this went on over several weeks. The original due date of the shop was probably sometime in November.

My issue, Buffalo, was that when he called a couple days ago to finally offer me the job at a rate I would accept, I did what I told him I would do and take 30 minutes to line up a guest, which I did- for that night OR last night. The guy never called me back to confirm.
I can't be calling people every day trying to line up jobs I haven't even gotten yet. That's stupid. It's not my fault they dragged this out for weeks and never got back to me when they said they would.

It's no skin off my back that they can't get their crap together. I don't particularly want to drove 90 minutes for dinner but I'll do it for the right fee. The only annoying part is that they keep calling me and now aren't even sure they can give me what they offered.

Ah, they do have problems, but that restaurant is one of my son's favorites, so if they meet my price, off we go. The report is just so easy, it's barely work.
