Going to Hawaii next month, looking for dinner shops

Next month I will be going to the island of Oahu. While there, I was hoping to pick up a few dinner shops out in the island. The ones that I have seen so far are the cheesecake place and the rockin cafe that is owned by the celebrities. While I love the food at both, I am hoping to try out more of a local flavor. Does anybody have any recommendations ?

I know Customer Impact has shops for some higher end restaurants that have locations on Oahu. Don't know if those locations are shopped, but it might be worth checking into
Not much in the way of true local flair being mystery shopped, unfortunately. MCG has some restaurants that are probably the closest to what I'd consider local food, but they're not restaurants I'd recommend to visitors as offering a true local flavor. You'll get the best local food from some of the hole-in-the-wall places. PM me if you're interested in hearing about some of my favorites.
They have Gyu-kakus there. But I'd really recommend eating local. If you like sushi, try Yohei out in Honolulu. You might be the only non-Islander there.

Ohh thanks for the tip! Every once in a while I love Gyu-Kaku and I find the pay to be good and the report to be super super easy.
Also, if you go over to Kailua, eat at Hibachi (their kalbi and poke are amazing) and stop at Island Snow. The Kailua beach is choice.
If you have the time, stop at Liliha Bakery for some Coco Puffs. Another island favorite is Kamehameha Bakery's Poi Balls. You will need to get the Kamehameha Bakery first thing in the morning because they sell out after a few hours.

Nico's Pier 38 has great food too. Reasonable, local but not fine dining. Enjoy!!
I've always want to sign up for the golf course shops...but I don't play golf and thinking would be hard to play the part of the golfer lol.

Roy's has great food. It's on the high end side, expensive dinners, but they have great happy hours with reasonably priced food, $6 to $15 range.
Thanks Guru! Have you ever heard of a place called Flamingo Inn for their Banana Pie ? My friend who used to live in Hawaii keeps on talking about how good it is..lol
There used to be a chain of Flamingo's restaurants here. Now they're down to just one location I believe.
