Angry With Gapbuster *resolved*

This company called me begging me to take a couple of FF shops with a $20 bonus for completing both of them before the month was over. They also had a higher pay fee. I agreed, even though the time frames weren't very convenient for me. Well, I just logged into their website to see when I should expect payment, and low and behold - one of my shops was rejected! No explanation! No email asking for clarification! Just rejected. They get to keep their fee, their bonus, and my money for the two meals I had to purchase to do this shop (inside and drive thru). They are constantly posting on this site begging for shoppers in my area. I can see why now. I won't shop for them again and I imagine they've burned a lot of other bridges if this is how they conduct business. And yes, I followed the guidelines exactly.

The Gapbusters postings on the job board here smell as much as the International Service Check postings. MelNel did you contact Dannie about that Gapbuster rejected shop?
I've contacted this company three different ways and have not heard back.

Hi MelNel,

Would you please email us at GAPbusterFollowUpUSA@gapbuster.com on this issue? Please quote your shopper code and the assignment number that was rejected in the email.

If you could put the subject of the email as 'Attention Dannie', it would be great.

I will liaise with the Quality Control to understand what went wrong upon receiving your email.

Regards,
Dannie
I just did an assignment for them in Ontario and I filled out the survey three times but it won't submit at all. I made two inquiries which no one is answering. They phoned and emailed to say my assignment is overdue yet won't answer the inquiry. I already don't like this company. I should be paid for having to do the shop and filling out the survey multiple times. I regret taking on shops with this company.

there have been quite a few "not so nice" postings about this company....I shopped many shops for them a long time ago, then got deactivated bec I had done so many and didn't fit their criteria any longer.....not a big loss to me...
They definitely keep you on your toes. I did some phone related assignments a few years ago. Some of the locations I was sent to I had to call ahead of time and discovered via the Internet that the stores were closed. The guidelines said to not go ahead with the assignment and contact GAPBuster. The person who responded said that I would still get paid, though the client would have to verify first. I was instructed to go to the location and take a photo of the establishment. One I didn't mind so much as it was enroute to another location. But another was completely out of the way, nearly 40 miles round trip. I never got paid for either one. After the assignments were processed, I noticed they were not approved or paid. I followed up and was still told I would be paid. Of course as that batch was the only assignments I ever attempted for them, I didn't remember to return to the website until months late and was never paid.
Follow up: I received a "whoops, our mistake" email with a promise of the job fee and bonus payment. The response was the inquiry. I emailed Dannie that day, but received an email from her(?) today saying I should hear something by Monday. I guess they didn't update their system?

They just emailed me about a shop, now I'm thinking I shouldn't do it!! I've seen too much bad stuff about them!
I have been doing Gapbuster grocery store Audits for ages and now they have taken all the bonus monies away from us and I have worked hard doing this job. I do feel that we are not appreciate by the companies which we represent. How do you feel.
If they won't bonus the grocery audits, just don't do them. It's not unusual for MSCs to get tight with the bonuses in the beginning of the year or even the beginning of a quarter. Since mystery shopping/auditing really isn't a job, you aren't required to take assignments for a lower fee.

Are they getting the FF shop back from the other big msc? I have been getting emails from Gapbuster about these shops.

Hi,

I would like to apologize behalf of GAPbuster for this. Our normal process is that we send email when noted that there was an mistake. If you dont mind to email me on ShopperPaymentsUSA@gapbuster.com , I will review what happend and also process the payment for these assignments.

Based on your feedback, I assume this was the first mistake so Quality Control Team should have paid you. So once again I would like to apologize.

Please email me with details and shopper code.

Thanks,

Daniel Edward

Hi Dannie,

I tried to sign up with GAPbuster today and I received this message:
Thank you for your interest in becoming a GAPbuster mystery shopper.
The details you provided in your application unfortunately do not match our database's selection criteria. As a result, we are unable to approve your request to join GAPbuster Worldwide. Thank you for your time and we wish you all the very best.

Best regards,

Shopper Team
GAPbuster Worldwide

Could you help me understand this?
Hi Tostresh,

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

As explained in another thread, you have registered yourself as a shopper with GAPbuster back in 2007. Since you are already a registered shopper (albeit the account is currently inactive), you will be declined if you attempted to register again.

I have since sent a request to reactivate your shopper account and will keep you posted upon activation.

Regards,
Dannie
Thank you. It would have been helpful if the message stated that my account was deactivated due to inactivity and given me a link to request reinstatement.
The way the message read it gave me impression that I was not a suitable candidate to do mystery shopping for GAPbusters.
Hi Tostresh,

Note that your shopper account has been reactivated. I have sent you a PM which contained your login details.

Your feedback in regards to the content of auto-generated message is well-received and I will pass this to our IT department.

Looking forward to working with you.

Regards,
Dannie
