Market Force Fires Mystery Shopper Because of “Known Associates”

Reports surfaced recently of Market Force International terminating a mystery shopper because of “known associates.”
The shopper had reportedly done extensive work with the company, and garnered a high rating by them. No other reason was cited for the termination of the agreement.
According to the report, Market Force refused to provide any information about the identity of the “known associate.” This is not the first time such an incident has been reported by members of the Mystery Shop Forum community.
Because mystery shoppers are generally treated as Independent Contractors, they do not have the legal rights that protect employees.
Mystery Shopper Magazine has repeatedly contacted Market Force about this issue, but has not received a response. In recent years, Market Force has quickly grown to be the largest mystery shopping company in the world, after acquiring many mystery shopping companies. Companies they have purchased include Shop ‘n Chek, Speedmark, Certified Marketing Services, Retail Eyes, and Tell Us About Us, among others.
