Further proof that intellishop has no idea on why they give the grades they do.

I received the following from intellishop after multiple emails back and forth and a phone call all after shop was submitted. I had to fix a portion and resubmitt. Despite this I still get a 10. I am not complaining just found it funny. Here is the comment:
Shop Grade: 10

Comments: Thank you for your report! This report has been finalized. You had well-written supporting comments with good attention to detail, and followed all of the guidelines set by the client for this shop. Due to the high quality of this report, it is receiving a full score of 10/10 points. Keep up the good work!

Thanks for using IntelliShop's INSITE system!

Huh? You didn't get deducted two points because they contacted you????

Congrats!!!

I intend to live forever. So far, so good.
Is it possible you caught an error in the guidelines and they are thanking you for it in this manner?

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
I am a pretty "solid-10 shopper" with most of my companies, but when Intellishop had to bug me..I mean "contact me" 2 times, for repeated questions, they gave me a 6! tongue sticking out smiley
I am an English teacher by day and occasionally lose points for grammatical errors. This is what they tell me.
I found that once in awhile the editors mark off for non-existent mistakes because they themselves don't know the proper grammar. The grade you get depends on how good the editor's education is and whether or not they are a generally negative and punitive person or an uplifting and positive person. Very briefly, negative people try to shame and punish people into doing a better job. Positive people believe whatever good they focus on will grow larger. When negative people control your scores they can do a lot of damage. Try to avoid them if possible. The hassle in working for a negatively focused company or with a punitive editor is not worth the money.
I don't think the editors are punitive or negatively focused. I think they are teenagers who have never worked before. I think they have been thrown into a job they are not well prepared for and they have had little training. The editors at this company are mostly college students making minimum wage. I think that explains a lot.
Anyone who points out errors or is gleeful to find errors is negatively focused. Anyone who gives less than 10 had to focus on errors. Not that everyone who gives less than a 10 is negative person, but if you have to focus on the negative to give less than a 10, then being at least temporarily negatively focused is part of the task of grading. The job is to find the ones who are glad to find errors versus the ones who are focused on praising the good.
I wonder if editors' work is audited. For example, would one editor have graded the OP's report lower than 10 due to multiple contacts about the report? Is any report ever given as anonymous work to multiple editors to see how each editor would grade the same report?

Intellishop does seem a bit random. I once got a 10 on a report where the comment was something like, "Thanks for your report. 1 point was deducted for (some detail gone awry). Otherwise this was a good report." This week they deducted 2 points for something that needed correcting on my photo. Wish they would have specified what it was because next time I'll probably take the same picture of the pizza.

I've received only one "6" since I began mystery shopping in December and it was from an editor at Intellishop. She contacted me twice, thus the two point deduction each time. My average shop is a "10." Go figure.
Intellishop is very picky. I usually have to re-submit more than once. It looks like this is their standard of operating. Another company that is picky and will always writes me back to say tell us more. It is truly invaluable to me; however this is part of our industry. The other picky company is BAI.
Just know that this is what Intelli-shop does.
Just received another 10 from them today maybe they are turning over a new leaf. But I am realistic so I am sure my next will be an 8 or 7 or that 9 as they did not have to contact me.

Why is it two points for contacting us? Oh is it because they have to contact us for 1 point and then go back into the report after we reply for 1 point. Well, it doesn't matter as long as they pay me. But what I really hate is your shop was excluded because you used the same address so we gave you a 1.
I had just over a dozen shops with Intellishop and all were 9 or 10 until I got a 7 for contacting me and multiple spelling and grammatical errors. I needed to update one question which honestly didn't need clarification. To try and learn from my mistakes I compared the report I submitted with the new edited one and didn't find a single spelling correction. The only "grammatical errors" that were corrected was "he" was changed to "Roscoe" several times (that's not the person's real name). It didn't look right, I would never use the person's name that much. I should have changed them all back!
I contacted them to find out and even mentioned all of that. I got this response--
Unfortunately, I do not have access to this information. We have proofreaders that work part-time from home that review the reports. I do not work with the reports until they have already been reviewed and requests are made. I’m sorry I can’t help you more. Please rest assured that you did not receive a bad score.

So you mess up the resubmission that they ask for and they ask you to correct that one?
