I find the opposite, I feel like in a dining shop you have a lot of time to process the information and slowly gather all the needed info. The reports are very straight forward just need to write detailed narrative and if you took good notes it is not that complex. Now that I have ShopIt app down it's been very helpful. Also, with fine dining most times you have a guest to help you remember details.
I did 4 quick shops this morning and that stressed me out more b/c most are in and out and trying to gather all the details in like 5-10 mins time for each shop is more work for me.

The reports and required narratives require that you be very detailed. The first evaluation I did for them a few years ago - restaurant/bar lounge, seemed like it took over 12 hours, over the course of two days, as I was just getting used to the writing style and format they require. Got an 18/20, and after that consistently scored 20/20. It took me a few years to finally get assigned a hotel shop. These shops are very involved with the narratives totalling over 31 saved pages in a Google or Word doc. I only apply for the high end shops - with reversable hotel charges averaging approximately $2500.00 per stay. I will be doing a five-star hotel evaluation this month with total reversible/reimbursable charges estimated to be $3,000.00. Definitely worth it to stay and dine at beautiful, high-end properties and evaluate their spa and concierge services, but take heed, as others have already pointed out, these assignments are not for the faint of heart. Expect to devote days to writing your narratives. Just the capturing and formatting of images, and then uploading and labeling them using their naming conventions can take up hours of your time.

Why do some reports take forever in Pending status? I have done a total of 3 shops for them, the first two reports got approved right away. I did one last Monday and it's still in the pending status, no contact from editors or anything?
They usually take about three days to be finalized, although I have found that shops done at the end of month tend to be editted quicker. Maybe the delay is the holiday weekend?
Linda, you prob already got the email as well, but I got a huge list of Coyle shops for my area via email this am. So you might want to log in and check.
