GAPbuster security problem?

I've tried to sign up with GAPbuster several times and I receive the following security message: "The security certificate presented by this website was issued for a different website address. Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept any data you send to the server." It tells me to close the site now! I guess I will forget this MSC.

There are a lot of companies which manage to forget to update their security certificates. If you are confidant that you typed in the correct URL, ignore the warned from your browser, or try a different browser. Not all browsers are created equal. I just navigated to this URL without any security warnings: [www.xec.gapbuster.com]

Hi Lorrie68,

I have reported the website security certificate error to our IT team and they have since resolved the issue. Please be assured that our website is secure and the error you encountered last week is a system glitch.

There should be no SSL alert at our shopper registration site now [http://www.gapcentral.gapbuster.com/mysteryshop/].

Alternatively, you can visit [https://www.xec.gapbuster.com/Login.aspx?culture=en-us] and click "Become a
Mystery Shopper now" to apply as a mystery shopper.

Should you have any concerns, feel free to PM me.

Looking forward to working with you!

Regards,
Dannie

Dannie,
I am no longer receiving the security message, but the site will still not allow me to register. Please advise.
Thanks.
Hi Lorrie68,

If you could send me a PM with your name and the email address you used to register with us, I can look into this for you.

Thanks,
Dannie

Did you ever find a solution that will allow you to sign up? I am trying to register as well and am having issues. When I get to the second page of the application where it says

"Contact Details (You must include your full address, including the street name and number)
To confirm correct address, please type your Street number and address within the search field and then choose your address from the dropdown list below"

Whenever I enter my address in the search field and hit the search button I get this message "System Error
Your request cannot be processed due to a system error occurred. Sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please try again later. "

I tried initially to register a few days ago and went back to it today to try again and am getting the exact same results.

I haven't tried to register today, but as of yesterday the site would still not allow me to register.
Hi Everyone,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

It appears there is a system glitch on our shopper registration site and it has now been fixed.

Appreciate if you could try again and let me know if you still face any issues.

We do apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Looking forward to working with you.

Regards,
Dannie

Sarah

I was able to register tonight too!
I signed up for Gapbuster several months ago and at that time they didn't have anything in my area. I recently started receiving emails from them to update my information and asking if I would be interested in FF shops. Last week, I received two phone calls from Malaysia which I did not answer, there was no voice message left. Then I receive an email saying that Gapbuster is located in Malaysia and that is what will show up if they need to contact. I realize a lot (understatement) of business is contracted out over seas but I would like to hear from someone who has been a long time forum member and long time shopper before I accept any assignments. I'm also wondering if the other major MSC is not doing them anymore. I have always done these shops for them and still see them on their job boards.
Thanks in advance.
I'm haven't been a long time shopper or forum member, but they have phoned me and I accepted a shop from them. They were a little picky on the photos, but little to no narrative. I expect my payment on the 27th of this month.
In the case of Gapbuster I don't consider it outsourcing as they are an international company with offices in several countries. I've definitely worked with their schedulers in Malaysia and Australia and it seems one time the contact was in Europe.

GAPBuster actually has headquarters in Melbourne, Australia with regional offices in Europe and throughout Asia. The only sense in which this is outsourcing is that the US clients have chosen a company based in Australia. I have not done shops for GAPBuster recently, but in the past I did not have any problems and my recollection is that the fee structure was reasonable.

I have worked with Gapbuster for about 6 months. Their website is tricky, but it can be figured out. Their shopper response is almost excellent. They seem to usually answer enquiries quickly, and take care of things promptly. They do not pay fast, but they pay about 60 days. You must check your payment area on their website, learn how to read the payments, and make sure everything is correct. Sometimes it hasn't been but they fixed it right away. You also, pretty much, have to do their shops perfectly. They talked me into a "shop from Hell", I did yesterday, but it was my own fault for screwing up and thinking it was 120 miles, when it turned out to be 198, through roads marked "crooked and steep-20 miles", and I could only drive 15 mph--not to mention it was also in a tornado WARNING area and then in a flash flood WARNING area--and if that wasn't a run on sentence then I don't know what is. But the drive was grueling, at times the rain was coming down in sheets and was blinding, and there is even more to tell in this odyssey, but suffice it to say, it was a great adventure that Gaps got done for REALLY CHEAP. LOL I not only like the company, but I blew my Samsung rep's mind when I had to answer a phone call from Malaysia, while he was teaching this old lady AGAIN how to find a widget on her phone..
