Your average rating is a 4. It doesn't matter your last shop was a 9, they are looking at the overall.

How many shops have you performed for this company? What were your other scores? It appears that you may have flaked on a previous assignment or received a very poor score.
I didnt flake Thank you for your report. A score of 9 has been given for typographical changes. Thanks.
so i get penalized because the EDITOR change something?, how do get higher rating could i just ask ?
While a few MSCs will not lower your score for minor mistakes, most do so it would have to be a perfect report to receive a 10.

You need to look into the reason your overall average is only a 4. The normal is for a starting average of 5. If you have completed 3 shops rated 9, 2 and 1 your average would be 4 if we add up the scores and divide by three. While that last high score will help raise your average, it won't erase previous mistakes. Normally a score of 1 or 2 would be shop for which you were not paid either because you flaked or because you failed to follow the guidelines rendering the shop unusable. The good news seems to be they are still giving you work so you have the opportunity to raise your average. In the scenario I presented another 9 on your 4th shop would change your rating to 5.

Equal rights for others does not mean fewer rights for you. It's not pie.

mrpanitz, the editor who edits your shop report must correct any spelling and grammar issues you make, in addition to re-writing your sentences if your sentence structure is poor. Those are mistakes that you made. You get graded off for those mistakes. Reading your post, above, your sentence structure is very poor. Your grammar is incorrect. Just in your short post, you have incomplete sentences, lack of capitalization, spelling errors, and incorrect punctuation. I would grade your post a 4.

You get a higher rating by doing it right.

Right, it's not your fault for turning in a shoddy report. It's their fault for expecting to get a good one.

If you do not write a report up to the standards of the mystery shopping company you are penalized. Where you are from has no bearing.

On this forum we have born and raised U.S. citizens whose first language is English. Some have also performed and written reports in other languages because it was a requirement of the MSC and their client. If they felt their spelling and grammar in Spanish or French was not the best they had two choices. Either let the shop go or do their best and accept a slightly lower grade because an editor had to work to make the report presentable to the client. I would not expect them to claim the MSC is penalizing them for being born here.

Since Intellishop is apparently giving you more chances, why not just take advantage and work to improve your writing skills?

You are NOT "being penalized." You are providing a poorly-written report that requires massive editing. It makes absolutely NO DIFFERENCE whether you are born the the USA or not. You are held to the same standards as everyone else. You get no special points because English is not your first language. No one owes it to you to accept poorly-written reports because you were born somewhere else. The reports submitted to the client companies must be written correctly. If they are not, an editor must correct your work and you will be given a poor grade on your report.

Talk about entitlement. You can't write a good report but you think you should be given good grades anyway, regardless of how bad the report is and how much time an editor has to spend correcting it? And instead of asking how you can do better on your report so you can get a better score, you whine "so if you are not born in usa you are penalized" [sic] ........ Mystery shopping may not be a good fit for you.

If you have gotten so many low scores on reports that your average is 4, I'm surprised you have not been deactivated. If I were an editor at Intellishop, I would not be willing to continue to accept substandard reports that had to be corrected. They are being pretty nice allowing you to continue shopping for them. Instead of thanking them, you are whining.

If they read on the forum and see you whining about not getting good scores for crappy reports, maybe they will deactivate you.

Are you completing the reports on a phone? If so, I find it very difficult to write clear, cogent paragraphs on a phone (the keyboard and display are so small, you can't read the whole thing at once and it's easy to hit the wrong key on the "keyboard" on my phone. Not to mention autocorrect). Do you maybe have a laptop or full size computer you could use to submit the report? If so, most modern browsers have good spellcheck and MS Word actually does a pretty good job with grammar checking in my experience. Maybe even a tablet or something larger than a phone would be helpful.

Ginger and Grammarly are two good grammar and spell checkers. Hmm! maybe not. Both would have let me submit goog instead of good. But for free its ok. But they did get the apostrophe that was missing. Ginger is for use in Firefox and Grammarly in Chrome. I don't use IE except for my "Real Job" and that mostly licking Radio buttons. Don't be like the guy that turned down help several times because he swore the lord would get him out of the pickle that he was in. When he finally met his lord he asked about why he wasn't delivered from his peril. His lord said who do you think sent the folks that tried to help? Hmm! Hmm! You maybe wanted to be saved by a better boat.
yes you get penalized if an editor has to fix typos....loosing 1 point does not indicate it was MASSIVE editing..that happens when only minor editing is needed..and sometimes the editor is wrong.

once I lost a point because I didn't use quotes.

my sentence was something like: The associate said that the store brand was just as good as the national brand.

It was not a direct quote--the report did not require a direct quote...yet I was penalized for not putting quotes in that sentence.

and writing on here is not always indicative of the care a person takes to write a formal report...i know I take short cuts here all the time because it is hard for me to type.

The reports for US shops require that you use good English no matter where you are from.

The OP is probably trying to land that two night stay with $2000 out of pocket that requires an 8 or better.

I don't see anyone taking that assignment in the six cities it's being offered.

That is quite an investment for a 16 part shop.

Then again pool, beach, spa, bar, and lounge sounds like a relaxing two days for the person who is the tag along and not the shopper. It looks like hell for the shopper.

One of these days I might actually be crazy enough to do that one.
