Monterey Car Shop advice

This will be my first car shop this Friday, I signed up with this MSC recently and this morning got a call from the scheduler. I told him that I have seen the shops but was a little bit hesitant on doing a car shop since I have not done one, and personally I think car salespeople are a little too pushy. He said it will be simple and it's bonused at $30 making it $60 and asked me if I wanted to do two of them, two different brands. I said fine and picked the dealer I was more interested in that was also closer. I will be shopping a luxury car brand.

I just looked at the shop guidelines, it seems simple enough. I have to make an objection other than price, what do you guys usually use as the excuse?? Now a days I feel like with computer systems the salesperson can always get whatever you ask from another dealer / location. I.e. I want a sunroof or I need a navigation system... they will locate that car for you. Any other advice?

Thanks in advance!

These are relatively easy shops. Good money for the time spent. I have never had any difficulty doing car shops. I do stay away from Intellishop car shops unless they are massively bonused because unless they pay me a bunch they are not worth the annoyance. Love Monterey. I agree with jack. You're still thinking it over or you want to go see another brand that you are also considering.
Thanks for the feedback, since the guidelines say: state an objection to see how salesperson overcome that and then it gave the example of lack of certain features I thought that's what I needed to use. It also said make sure your objection makes sense like don't say lack of trunk space if you are shopping a sports car or fuel efficiency for SUV etc...

I just had visions of the salesperson saying no problem we can find you a car with x features and color combination etc...

If I can easily say I'm still looking at other cars as an objection I will certainly use that!
Absolutely. Take it from a newbie. If offered a car shop with Monterey, take it. Surveys don't require too much narrative and they always pay on time. I have done 5 car shops for them. Though for me none of them were bonused as sweetly as yours. Good luck!

I have done a ton of shops with monterey. They are by far my favorite car shops. Easy and I always use I want to look at a few other brands first. Just a word of advice many dealerships own several brands so do a little research and state brands they don't own.

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.
These are the only car shops I will actually do. I say I need time to think about it and hope the salesperson will call back in the time frame they are supposed to. One time, the salesperson called back in three days instead of 48 hours and I felt really bad I couldn't give him credit. Take the shop- it's worth it, IMO.
Thanks for the advice, I guess I should have taken the 2nd shop he offered too, I said oh bum I have to do this alone b/c my SO would really enjoy that brand, we have been there before, he said I well ok you can bring your SO if you want. I ended up not taking the second shop, wanted to make sure I feel comfortable with it first. I guess in my area not a lot of shoppers picking up these shops.
Monterey has the best car shops! I have done several for them and they have reports that make sense and they pay well.

Silver certified for 11 years and happily shopping Arizona!
If it's a small or midsized sedan, it's back seat leg room. They will suggest that you look at the bigger model in their lineup. You decline and move on. If it's the biggest car or an suv, it's gas mileage. They will tell you about how much more efficient the current models are, and compare theirs to a competitor with lower efficiency.

I would love to do some of these. They sound like a no-brainer. As soon as my rotation for the negotiation shops is over I'm grabbing as many as I can.
