Has any MSC picked up the Firestone audits yet?

I used to do those too. I have not seen the audit picked up by a new MSC, but there is a slightly different version where you go have service done on your vehicle, then surprise them at the end with a "secret audit", and mark down what is not in compliance. I didn't like the sound of it, so I never picked one up. Sorry, I don't remember the MSC, and couldn't say if I did anyway smiling smiley
I did one of those. It wasn't bad at all. There were about 10 things you had to check with the manager after the interaction (floor room displays correct, bathroom clean, etc.). He asked if I needed to go out into the bay area (where the cars are serviced). When I said no, he said, "oh, they used to always have to go out there." They're used to these kinds of audits was the impression I got. The report was very easy: no narrative at all, I don't think. Your mileage may vary, but I'd do another of those if there were one available near me.

I've done one and enjoyed it. The guy was really nice. He said he'd received a lot of reports in the past, the after the fact type of comments, but this was the first time anyone had ever revealed that they were a shopper.
I did two of those in July and they were dead easy. Plus, I got an oil change for me and one for my friend.
Applied for four more starting today. Unfortunately, this is one shop you have to apply for and is not a self assign. Been waiting a week or more to hear back and I need wipers, a tire rotation, and an alignment! $35 puts a dent in those services!
I read that this MSC takes over 60 days to pay, but something in the bank then beats nothing in the bank.
How is Firestone? Is it one of those companies that work on commission that try to find something wrong with your car or try to break something so you definitely have something wrong? Since the shop says any service I was thinking of taking one to replace my windshield wipers. Thanks for replying!

That didn't happen at all on my shop. The guy didn't do many of the "upsell" type things so I don't know if that's usual or if I just had a lazy worker who didn't try to sell me anything.

OMG, I clicked on quote to send you a message nslowry and I got this reply box and superimposed on it was a picture of two people having sex....in living color and moving.
Anyway, I was trying to figure out if windshield wipers would work for this, They do sell them and evidently will install them for you but it sounds like more of a purchase than a service...Since you mentioned windshield wipers I was wondering if you checked if that would work for this shop. I need those wipers just in case it rains ever again in Southern Calif! Here the company is not Firestone, but Bridgestone. They are one in the same. The msc calls them Firestone but the stores are all Bridgestone.
Happened again, when I clicked save I got the sex page again!!!

sex pics are the best!

There are reasons that a body stays in motion
At the moment only demons come to mind
Wasn't me having the sex! Don't think anyone would be interested in a senior citizen doing this. Or maybe some would. Heck, I don't even let my cats see me in the buff, let alone having sex.
I would be interested in this shop too. I know we can't mention the company that does them but sometimes I wish we could. Example, there is a food shop that I wish I knew what msc did the shops for because every time we visit them our order is wrong! Even complaining on the phone with the manager is worthless. Sorry I am a bit off topic but I wanted an example.

A lot of people just don't like to share that information anyway. I recall asking about these wonderful apartment shops that several people do that pay well and no one has yet volunteered that information. I doubt they are offered in my area. I belong to a gazillion MSCs, half of which have nothing in my part of the world. I hear ya, though.
Orrymain, I did an apartment shop and it was fun. The targeted gal was so kind and I had her eating out of my hands before it was over. I actually felt bad that she thought she had a renter in six weeks from my visit. I had to make a route of shops to do it though. I had so much fun and ended the day with a decent restaurant meal. I got to relax and come home to submit my reports. Sure was a long night! I'd do it again if I could do more than one apartment shop.

Can't tell you the MSC, but I see the Firestone shops on the Sassie Board... I'm looking on the Presto Mobile site and see the shops there. Good luck!

Yeah, I've had a lot of fun with some of the apartment reps. They can be a kick to talk to and like you, sometimes I feel bad that I've taken up their time ... but it's been fun!
What's a Presto Mobile ... A website, MSC, or something else? Feeling ignorant again even at my age.

I guess it depends on the location. They didn't mention anything wrong with my car verbally. On the invoice it was noted that my "clutch feels worn" unfortunately I didn't even see it until I left, my clutch had 5000 miles on it (it's not worn at all). smells rotten to me. I was disappointed there was no narrative.

Anyone have their windshield wipers replaced on this shop and have it accepted as a service? Did they reimburse the cost of the wipers and the service to change them?
I was wondering about that too, Sandy, after someone else mentioned it. As I recall, the guidelines were pretty much do any service, but I've wondered if that is really worthy of being called a service. Unless someone has done it, and frankly, even if they had, I think I'd probably double check with the scheduler. Most of the shops in my area are taken now anyway, but if they pop up again, I'll probably ask via email and see what the response is.
I did 5 of these and got 10/10 on each one. The services were: 2 oil changes (one car borrowed), alignment, wipers, and air filter changes. Since I got 10s on all, I'm hoping that all services will be reimbursed. Takes a lo-o-o-o-ong time to get paid though and that was a lot of money out of pocket.
I had my windshield wipers replaced and didn't hear anything negative about the shop. I'm not expecting a problem with payment.

I checked on this quite a while ago. Pretty much anything is acceptable. What we purchase or have serviced is more the excuse for being there. It's the service process and the reveal that is the crucial part.
Yes, windshield wipers work. They have a brand that can be upsold, plus they can upsell a back wiper. If your vehicle doesn't have a back one, present with just one needing changed.

I went ahead and took photos of several things, even if they weren't required. I wish there were more open in my area. Simple, simple shop -- except I had to wait two hours for one, but I rarely get to read trashy magazines so it worked out.

Note: One shop did tell me that my tires would need replacing "soon" (they have fewer than 25k miles on them). The same shop said I ought to consider replacing my battery (2.5 years old). They didn't actually say they NEEDED to be replaced, so they covered their rear ends. The sad thing is that it was the location that I took my vehicle to the last time it needed $1000+ worth of service. Won't take it there again.
