They require a lot of work but are a good fit for many looking for family fun. Your family gets the fun while you write and write and write and write and...

Doing what I can to enhance the life of my family! I LOVE what I do smiling smiley
ShopSouthTexas ..... This is exactly why I have never bothered to try them. They even took me off their list. Hahaha oops! I do like to see what is going on sometimes, though. :/

Just be picky with what you choose. Many of their jobs allow you to do things with your family that you could not otherwise afford. Others are not worth it unless they're bonused. But they pay like clockwork and are very responsive.
Yes, read the threads about them. They are a niche company. Shoppers that work for them find that niche appropriate for them at the time.

Happily shopping Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and Connecticut
Watch the print about the parking if you accept.... some of them require 4-5 in/out of parking lot to access the attendants plus the inside..... But all that comes out of your profit..... They told me yes but you get a free ticket to the event. Sorry the event was free to the public and parking is not cheap. In the end it was a negative not a positive....
I did my first shop for them in July. It took awhile for my report to get edited. I only had to add a couple demos on associates and got paid extremely quickly...about a week after editing was complete.
I also just did my first shop for them 2 weekends ago. They still haven't touched my report. Btemps, how long did it take for them to get your report edited? Otherwise, I enjoyed the shop I did for them, and the report was not terribly difficult.
I did my first shop with them in April at a museum. The report does take time but found it easier to do than some other MSC that do restaurant shops for. I liked that they use a checklist with some narrative for each section. You only had to explain no answers in a separate part. It did not need to be repeated again in the narrative.
It took me less time to do the report than I thought it would.
I do not do the amusement or water parks because I do not have children. It can be a good deal for a family to get 5 free tickets. That is not a good deal for me.
The report is very lengthy and I spent far more time than it was worth for the free tickets instead of $ reimbursement.
I had a neutral opinion until I was deactivated because I didn't take any jobs within a year. No way I am going through the application work again to stay in their system for another year. The shops near me did not pay enough.
Love them but sometimes the "pay" is free tickets for a RETURN visit. Wouldn't be worth it if you don't live near the park.

Well after a little of a 2 week wait I got my report approved. The scheduler also said the payment is from the date the report was submitted, not when it was approved, so hopefully I'll get paid in the next few days. We'll see.

I'll make sure to apply only to the ones that pay and reimburse, not the ones for free tickets...

Just run away quickly!

Why? At least everyone is posting some reasoning behind why to do or not to do it...

By the way my payment came through really quick. I don't pick many of their shops if they're not near but I would definitely work with them again (for the reasons I mentioned above).
The only issues that I have had with Amusement Advantage are that the narratives are plenty and the jobs are in my area are few and far between.
Other than that, they pay on time and fairly ok if you like going to these types of venues.

I have done a couple of shops for them and they have been quickly approved and paid at the beginning of the following month. The ones I've done have paid a flat fee that covered my expenses for myself and my 2 teens with $20 or less left over. I was satisfied with that.

I'm not close enough to any of the places that pay in free tickets to make that worth my while.

We are all here on earth to help others....What on earth the others are here for I don't know.

I have done about eight shops for Amusement Advantage over two and a half years. They were one of the first companies I worked for. Yes, the narratives are long and the interactions are plenty for these types of locations (museums, water parks, etc.) I have never had a problem being paid. You don't really make a lot of money. However, water park tickets for a family of five with food and rentals can top well over $200. So for the once a year visit for the kids, it worked. The cheat sheets/check lists are helpful and necessary. There was a lot of reading for the assignments I completed. The instructions give a pretty close estimate of how long the reports will take. If you are new to mystery shopping, multiple interaction assignments, or new to Amusement Advantage, I would plan on adding an extra hour or two, depending on the assignment.
