Anyone done shops with NWLPC?

I have done shops with them in the past which involved apartment shops. I always completed my shops on time and done the reports accordingly. However, on a recent shop, my report was rejected because they stated my report was incomplete and that I did not include the details of the visit since the shop involved a phone call before visiting the site. I emailed back and explained that I did not receive the questions for the onsite visit and if it was incomplete, I would received a notice that my report was incomplete. There were no feedback from them regarding either re-doing the shop or resubmitting the report with the additional questions that should have been included for my report. Also, when you call the company directly, no one returns your calls and no responses by email.

I've worked with NWLPC since 2008 and had no dificulties. Doug Rector is the President of the company. You can reach him at doug@nwlpc.com. He usually responds very quickly when I have e-mailed him. His is also on the MSPA Board of Directors. Doug frequently reads here and sometimes posts, so you can also PM him and he usually responds quickly.

I'm not clear from your description exactly what was wrong. If you skipped a question completely, the Prophet form would have given you an incomplete notice. But if you completed all the questions on the form but just omitted details about a particular part of the visit, the form would have been complete even though the report might not contain all the required information. Just a thought. Try e-mailing or PMing Doug. I'm sure he'll respond quickly.
I had the same experience. No response to calls or email. And the shop details (what very, very little there are!) tend to contradict each other. Very frustrating. Proceed with caution!
I have shopped for them and called to ask if they rec'd my w-9 before I started. The phone was answered right away. My shops were on ISS platform so it won't let you submit unless everything is done.

In my experience, response from NW is timely, though not always specific or timely enough to my inquiry.

catgrannyof5, if you could provide specifics regarding:

Did the guidelines not state that a pre-visit phone call was required?
I've managed to reach Doug by phone a couple of times. He has not been very responsive to my emails, however. They tend to be unanswered. Even so, I have done a few shops in the past without any issues. Shops have been accepted and paid on time.
I mentioned this years ago on here but I never signed up for them because an experience that a friend had with them. They rejected her report at an establishment that treated her very poorly and rudely. Doug e-mailed her that he was not accepting the report based on trivial things. For example, the establishment offered a certain amenity to all customers that was not working at the time of her visit. Doug said that he was declining her report because she wanted to access that amenity. In her reply, she said that the guidelines did not say that she couldn't use such an amenity and that the basis on her shop required her to be at the establishment for over an hour, so she wanted use the amenity to pass time and that she mentioned that it wasn't working in her report since she thought it was an issue that corporate would want to know about. She told him that she could remove the line if it made the report better. She was accurate in the timings that the report required, but she also added some extra ones. For example, she asked for something and it took them over 10 minutes to get it for her even though she was one of a small number of customers there. Doug asked her why she was mentioning this timing in the report.

But guess what? She e-mailed him a few times and he didn't reply. It wasn't until she said she'd contact corporate to tell them about her bad experience that he e-mailed her back. She asked him why it took that specific e-mail for him to get back to her and he disappeared again.

But Karma has a weird way of working itself out and that client no longer use his company. I will leave it at that smiling smiley

I've done two shops with NWLPC and I had similar issues. I assigned the shop through Isecretshop and received guidelines that did not mention the method of payment (it was a parking shop). The shop was rejected because I did not pay cash. When I reached out to Doug to mention that there was no mention of cash payment on the report, he wouldn't read the guidelines and kept claiming I should have read them. I had to share the guidelines on this forum to get my point across.

Mistakes do happen, and I'm more than willing to accept that a company can make a mistake in their guidelines. But Doug was very rude and unprofessional in the way he reacted when I raised the issue. The shop itself was easy to perform otherwise.

I chose not to work with that company again, but that's a personal choice because of what happened on that shop. On another note, the guidelines and shop description on Isecretshop have now (miraculously!) been updated...
I did one or two airport parking shops with this company a couple of years ago. These were the only jobs in my market at the time and I had no problems with these jobs or getting paid. I stopped receiving job notices from them for about 6 months due to a glitch in my email program and wrote to the company to ask if they could send me job emails differently and never got a reply. Several months later I applied for a job thru the scheduling company and got it. A few days after that I heard from NWPLC that my job was removed. I asked why and was told it was because I flaked on a job several months before. I had not heard from the company nor worked for them for at least a year at the time. I told them I had not applied for any jobs for over a year as I was not getting any email notices from them and asked when the job was that I flaked. I never got an answer. I have never flaked on a job in all my years of mystery shopping and never applied for more than one or two jobs with this company that I did well and had no problems with. I just gave up as they do not have much in my area anyway, I have plenty of work and I can do without dealing with vagueness and nonsense.
