New shopper to Second to None

So I recently signed up with Second to None. I have read both very positive reviews and a few negatives. I was wondering what people can tell me about them in 2015 almost 2016. I was going to sign up for a Cable TV shop because I was stacking my shops that day, until I went to print out the instructions and it was 153 pages!!! I thought to myself... seriously for $13.00 dollars, I don't think so....!! Any opinions, I don't thin˚, they have many shops in my area which is Denver and beyond.

Shopping til' I drop, no joke here!

I've been doing shops for Second to None since 2008 and have never had any issues. I am not sure if the cable shops are the same ones I did last year in New England. If they are, it's an easy shop to report. I certainly don't recall any instructions from STN ever having that many pages.
April, is there at least one MSC that you are happy with? Your posts here are all complaints. They are riddled with insights about you leaning towards sever character flaws, including; not willing to read guidelines let alone follow them, applying for opportunities you have no interest in, not keeping basic records of your assignments.

Add in that apparently every MSC you have worked for appears to not pay you on time.

Sometimes your long and rambling posts are very well written, other times that are full of grammatical errors. Are there multiple people using your account?

second to none is a good company, and they pay faster than most msc's. don't sweat the cable shop, it's not hard, at least the one I always do isn't.
I can only give you my opinion so here it is, this MSC is on my A list. That is because they have shops that interest me at a reasonable pay rate. Their communications with me are fast and professional and they pay me when they say they will. Their reports are not bad as previously stated.
I really like this company and wish they had more diversified shops in my area. The guidelines are always understandable and the payment is always on time. I cannot remember ever having any issues with them.
aprilredbird, why would you feel the need to print out 153 pages of instructions? It is not necessary.

STN's fees are low. Reimbursements may be useful. They are responsive, and pay according to their stated terms. My opinion of STN is positive, for shops of benefit to me.
Never have I seen a 2nd to None shop with that many pages of guidelines! You sure about that?
STN is the second company that I signed up with and I'll go on my first assignment tomorrow. I hope everything goes well.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll be great!

I've done several shops for second to none and I've never printed out that many pages! The $13 fee is low which is why I wait for this shop to be bonused before taking it. I once ran into a snag at a location that had been moved. I emailed Bree DeCare and not only did she respond immediately, she paid me the full price for the closed location and the full price (both bonused) to complete it at the new location down the road. This cemented STN as one of my favorite MSCs to work for!
I have to chime in with the same as the majority. I've done many shops for STN. The schedulers are very responsive and helpful. The reports are spread out on too many screens in my opinion and it does slow down finishing the job, but I've done worse. I've never had guidelines or a report that is 153 pages. That doesn't sound like them, at least not for the shops I've done that revolve around cable. The pay is a tad low, too. Even so, I'm happy with the MSC. They pay on schedule, too.
Have not done many for S2N either have you?
Pages and pages are NOT uncommon.

@CANADAMOMMY, have you seen a job with 153 pages of guidelines? Pages and Pages are one thing, 153 pages is something else. Since the OP specifically provided a number (not 150, which might have been an estimate, but 153, which seems like it was an exact count), if you've got some specific information to add to the thread, I'd love to hear it. As is, it doesn't sound like you have seen the 153 page guideline shop, just that you think Second to None has shops with long guidelines. So far no one else on the thread has seen the mythical 153-page job so I'm trying to figure out if it actually exists or if the OP was mistaken or exaggerating.

Caligirl she's just following most of my posts and arguing with everything I have to say, and in some there is some borderline name calling. It's a little bit of cyberstalking and bullying but whatever. Surprised she hasn't started stalking and attacking you yet.

Canadamommy, I have been shopping for 14 years and have completed thousands of shops, but maybe only about 50 for STN. I don't shop for them often because they don't generally pay enough for me to bother.
I have personally done many (100s over the years) jobs for STN, and have never seen a shop with even 50 pages of instructions., None of the recent ones have even hit two dozen, most are a few pages. 153 is an exact count, and is more than I have ever personally seen from any MSC, even the infamous ones. That doesn't mean that it is impossible, but I wish I knew what client it was so that I could avoid them. If I happen to accept one with 153 pages of instructions, I think that I will take whatever hit comes with calling and cancelling the shop.

One page of information, queued on error, can ptint out hundreds of pages with a line or less of characters per page. Personal attack deleted by mod

I hate the "bully" word, but it looks like we've got a couple of posters who've had too much grinch-sauce. Name-calling is out of line. Chasing other posters around the forum to post disparaging remarks is unnecessary. And calling someone a troll is troll-like behavior. Knock it off.
I recently did a cable TV shop for STN, and there weren't anywhere near 153 pages of instructions! Although I was "in store" for quite awhile due to heavy customer load, the shop went well, the report was not very long and was very straightforward, and it was reviewed within 24 hours. There was one issue with the survey, but I e-mailed the scheduler about it, she responded right away, and it didn't affect the shop's acceptance. The scheduler was very responsive, both in responding to a question before I applied for the shop and about the location issue. And it had a bonus attached, so the fee was $17. Not the highest, but the shop was much less work than other shops I've been paid less for!

I wish they had more shops near me; I'd have no hesitation taking them.

Please take a moment and look at the OPs posting history. Nothing but complaints and negativity against MSC after MSC. If they aren't willing to look at themselves, then their purpose here is obvious.

Isaiah, I see the OP's posting history. I don't see as much negativity in her posts as you do, so we disagree. I see far more negativity in the posts of some others. And I see a lot of negativity in several of your recent posts.

In any case, Jacob has given us a guideline to how he wishes us to handle unproductive posts. If a poster perceives that another may be a troll, he should use the "report" feature and report it to a moderator and to Jacob rather than engaging and certainly rather than resorting to name-calling.

Commenting that someone else has severe character flaws or is eligible for "Troll of the Month" reveals negative things about the poster - - and I think it is troll-like behavior. If certain posts bother you, either report them or ignore them. Do not let your irritation turn you into a bully. I have enjoyed your posts in the last year since you joined the forum, but judgmental, bullying behavior is uncalled for.
To me STN is a B-/C+ kind of company. I've only done maybe half a dozen shops for them. Their donut client is ok but not worth it for the pay. Sometimes their cable company gets bonused pretty well. Communication isn't all that great. I have had several occasions where emails were never even replied to. In one instance the shop was only available for the next 3 days and I was available on the 4th. Sent an email asking if it could be done that day and got no reply. Was still on the board 2 days after I would have done it. Ended up eating lunch at the Chipotle next door. I've had a couple of other communications issues with them as well. Plus I've not been terribly impressed with how they deal with route shoppers. Sure I can make absolutely sure I'm at a certain new home shop on a certain day for $100 even if I have to backtrack, no I'm not doing it for a $10 lunch that we all know good and well can be done any day of the week.

I've done a few through them and they were OK, but I am not going to do the cable ones any more because I had problems on both of them because I tried to use non-customer scenarios that didn't work very well because that was the one magical day that cable company decided to actually be thorough lol. I don't want to state the problems here for fear of blowing my cover, but one was a phone shop that involved rescheduling, which they did do without any hassles, but was a bit annoying.

I've done others though that were fine and I feel that the people I was talking to were very nice and helpful even when I had the problems on the cable shops.

I love working for second to none and the cable shops here in Tennessee are pretty easy, they just want a lot of information and uploads can be difficult sometimes but the schedulers are good at having you email the pics and they upload them for you if you encounter problems. They do face to face meetings with insurance agents in regards to Medicare plans by private companies down here, particularly Cigna. The shop takes about an hour and requires about 30 minutes to input the survey and you get paid $30. They do direct deposit so you do not have to wait on paypal and they pay pretty quick compared to industry standard. Last year I made so much money with them that I got a 1099! I love the company but they do have high standards. Easy to work with!
Hi Monica, it's against forum rules to post client's names for MSCs, you need to edit your post, hun. I am really glad that you like them.
STN was the first MSC I signed up for when I began back in September 2014. Their website is often down for maintence at 11:30PM Central time, but I've never been dinged as late because of it. Their schedulers are easy to work with and reply quickly. They don't give out bonused shops all that often, but when they do, it's done fairly. I'd rate them the easiest and best, low-pressure company to work with. Never had an issue with payments.
I did many medicare gap insurance shops for STN. Pay is good, and the reports are a reasonable length. I also do lab shops for them - not too many shoppers seem to want to have their blood drawn.
