Gapbuster

Is it more difficult to get approved as a MSer for Gapbuster? It's the only company that has denied me and I was wondering what I can do to get approved, if anything.

I'm sorry. :/ I don't have experience with them, but I'm seeing a warning on their website that there is an imposter website. [www.gapbuster.com] A lot of MSCs seem to have encountered problems like this at one point or another. Are you sure it was this company that denied you, or do you think it might have been a scammer?
Looking through the application, yes, it does seem like they are one of the more selective mystery shopping groups. They ask you straight upfront for references and a work history, for one thing, which not all of the MSCs do. It may be that something in your history, some kind of mistake or inaccuracy on the application, or a personal demographic screened you out. If you are confused as to what it might be or if other companies have hired you in spite of something, you could always ask about the basis for the rejection to make sure there hasn't been some kind of a mistake. They may also have checked in with contacts from other companies or employees/schedulers who have worked for other shopping companies in the past, so if something unfortunate happened on one of those shops or you had a falling out with a company, that might have come back to haunt you. Here's hoping it is just a misunderstanding.

I wouldn't worry too much about a single denial, hous. There are a lot of other companies to work with. Think of it as a job application. In the world of employment, few job applicants are offered every job they submit an application for.

For ICs it is different, because the companies are not hiring us; they are merely putting us on their contractor list and will allow us to request or self-assign their available jobs. Because most MSC applications ask so little and are so quick and simple to fill out, it's clear that most care little - or not at all - about our background, abilities, and experience. We tend to fall into thinking that, by filling out a MSC application, acceptance is automatic, because usually it is. And we tend to believe that, if the company decides to deactivate us, it is unfair and they have no right to do that or the company should explain why.

Probably there are no shoppers needed in your area or something in your demographics did not match what they are looking for. If I were in your place, I would just move on and apply with other companies. My personal opinion is that not being signed by Gapbuster is not a big loss.
I did not get approved to shop for Gapbuster either. I figured, I must have failed the test they have, but I filled it out when I first started shopping. You don't think about waiting when you are trying to sign up for all the companies.
Can we contact you at work ? If you answered no it want be accepted ! Click yes, and im sure it will go thrue.
I have worked for them for 4 years and never had any problems. I can higly recomend Gapbuster to you all.
I live in Sweden by the way.
They have lost contract for a major client. I can't see any shops in my area anymore. There used to be over 100 each month. There are only a handful of shops available for 100's of shoppers in US this month.
I got rejected by Gapbuster too.. the only one that has rejected me so far (I think a couple haven't responded yet, but I assume they're waiting for clients in my area... yeah that's it. That must be it smiling smiley
Honestly, I figure it's their loss. I assume they might not have liked one of my answers. That's fine. Hopefully they'll find shoppers who are a better fit for them, and I'll find companies who are a better fit for me.
