AQ Services

I can't find a thread on AQ Services. They have a job posted on prestomaps and I tried to register. The registration form will not accept my birth date. The company states that they pay by PayPal; however, they require a bank account number. Is anyone familiar with this company and why would they require a bank account number? Thanks.

I'm not all that familiar with them, but for some reason want to say they are located in Europe or Asia. Did you try entering your birth date in a format other than MM/DD/YY?

They are a Sassie company. I am registered with them but have never done any of their shops. On the profile it says they pay via Paypal so I do not understand why they are asking for your bank account number. Make sure you are registering with them under Sassie to prevent any potential scam.

I entered my DOB all different ways. I really don't want to enter my bank account number, for I see no reason to. I think I will forget about this MSC!
That is weird unless the banking information is optional.

i just tried to sign up with AQ in the Sassie system as a new shopper. The form does not request a bank account. So make sure you are using their Sassie portal.

Hmmm - Perhaps the company was a scam site. At one point, my Norton anti-virus kicked in and stopped a virus attack.
I had been working for AQ for a while, i gave them my bank account no as they do direct transfer payment to my account rather than through Paypal. But their payment cycle is more than 3 months.
This sounds like a Scam to me! I'm not familiar with the company. Never give your banking account number, most companies use Pay Pal. If a company requires you to give a bank account number, open a Savings account and only use it for this purpose. Only do this on their web-site, not through an email.
PayPal may be the choice for some, but a lot of legitimate companies use direct depost. Bare, Reality Based Group, MarketForce, Trendsource, Stericycle, EPMS, Mintel, mVentix, Second to None and Service Evaluation Concepts. There are probably more. A couple of companies offer PayPal as an alternative to direct deposit, but if direct deposit is their preferred method of payment they will pass along the PayPal fee to the shopper.

Lisa I use Paypal all the time and have never been charged a fee.
I still suggest a direct deposit into a savings account set up for Mystery Shopping only, much safer. I don't want any companies getting my routing number off my personal checking account.
There are companies who prefer paying by direct deposit and will deduct the PayPal fee from the shopper payment. Second to None and Stericycle (formerly CORI) are two who come to mind. If their preferred payment method is less expensive why should they pay more to accommodate shoppers who prefer PayPal.

My choice is always the method that won't charge me. That said, on several occasions I have had companies who pay exclusively via PayPal pass along that fee to me. The price point of their shops determines if I continue with them.
