ShadowShopper

I am getting tons of emails from this website (shadowshopper.com)- they really want me to upgrade to a gold membership, promising it will allow me to "apply for unlimited jobs in my area". Does anyone have any experience with this company? Or paid for this gold membership? I don't really like the idea of paying any money for mystery shopping jobs...
Thanks!

I don't think I would pay for it. Heck I know I want pay for it. Do a search for Shadow Shopper. If they keep bugging you put them on your email black list. For more info go to this link [www.mysteryshopforum.com]

Just me personally, but I would never pay to join any special Shadow Shopper membership. Just take a look at the HUNDREDS of companies at the link at the end of this page!! You can apply to each and every one of them for free!
Just my 2 cents.

Hi, I am a new shopper also. Shadow Shopper at least lists jobs in my area, BUT.....when I email the listed jobs......I get told those were obsolete posts. .....several times from different companies.....So just go to the other companies directly,...........not much luck there either. THey seem to already have regular shoppers they give best assignments to. I have done lots of fast food shops , but the pay doesn't cover my gasoline !! And the FF puts on more pounds. HOW DO US NEW SHOPPERS FIND SOME PAYING JOBS????

You just need to have lots of MSC's and be quick to grab jobs. I have about 60 MSC's I use. Some don't use email notifications so I have to remember to look at their sites. The others email their jobs and I apply for all those in my area. I don't get selected for them all but the ones I get allow me to perform 5 - 7 shops per week which is all I really have time to do, Right now, I'm fully booked into mid April. AND, no it's not because they know me. About a third of the jobs scheduled for April are with two new MSC's I just added.

Try to add 1 - 2 new MSC's every week. Your list will grow quickly. I live in a very heavily populated MS area (Los Angeles county) but I am able to grab jobs quickly since my iphone is always with me. I average about $100 - $150 per week and am quite satisfied.

NO, I would never pay for it. Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free ;-) Hang in there and if you're really serious about MS'ing you might just need to change your strategy a little bit.

Shadow Shopper is only good for identifying MSCs who have jobs in your area. Sign up with those MSCs so you can check their job board, but do not expect to get an assignment from the obsolete stuff that is posted on Shadow Shopper.

Once you are signed up with companies, check their job boards regularly. Jobs go fast when they are posted and they go to - guess who! - the shoppers who repeatedly check their job boards looking for assignments.

New shoppers start slow and work up to better jobs and a higher volume of jobs. Take some of the hard-to-fill jobs. Do a great job and write a super report. Impress the editors and the schedulers. Yes, schedulers give their better jobs to shoppers with good track records who have performed excellent work for them in the past. That's a good thing. It means by doing good work, you can be recognized and rewarded. It means once you establish yourself as a good shopper, you can expect schedulers to recognize your ability as higher than a new shopper who signs up after you have been shopping a year, two years, or ten years.

When you are a mystery shopper, you are actually running your own small business. Building a business is hard work. Nobody gets huge contracts the day they start their business. And competition with a track record and more experience is hard to beat. Sign up with companies. Check the job boards more often. Work hard. Try not to get discouraged because it will be hard.
I am curious. What did you get for the $4.99 that you paid? Did you get anything that you could not have gotten here or by applying to the MSCs?
