It's always good to think in terms of other contractors and your own expectations for them. If you hired a plumber or a painter you would anticipate them doing the work on the agreed upon date. You would also expect them to contact you if something prevented them from following through. I'm guessing if they were a no call, no show, most of us would not give them a second chance.
