What's with all the surveys today?

Tonight the house phone rang. Caller ID showed it was from Ipsos so I picked it up. But instead of a scheduler asking about a mystery shopping job it was a market surveyor wanting to know if I'd answer his questions

What kind of bonus are you offering to answer your questions? LOL

Shopping Western NY, Northeast and Central PA, and parts of Ohio and West Virginia. Have car will travel anywhere if the monies right.

That's pretty funny.

The one thing about mystery shopping is that it's made me realize that my time, opinions and observations are valuable. I don't give them away for free of for a chance at a prize anymore (not that I did that often before I started MSing). But I would like to get a neilsen box if they even still do that. I think it would be fun to have that much power over the TV shows that get made, renewed, etc. And I could immediately turn off the TV when Donald Trump comes on to try to discourage news channels from covering him so much (although the horse may be out of the barn on that one).

Yes, they still do the Neilson box, my friend / neighbor is currently doing it, they get paid too! I wish they would pick me too! One of my favorite shows just got canceled so sad, clearly they didn't ask me!

Check your privacy settings if you have Hulu and Netflix. Unless you opt-out, they are gathering similar information as Neilsen and selling it.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
