Is anyone doing the $250 Maritz bank HELOC shops?

I'm just being nosy. I don't do any shop that requires my credit be checked . Apparently you go through the entire 4 part process of getting a HELOC and you can say you've changed your mind at the last second before you sign. Awkward!

Coffee, I don't use my social for shops either; not even opening bank accounts.

Good luck, indianyooper.

I understand Honny. Me too. But mostly I just don't allow credit checks because they would affect my spouse as well.
Let us know how it goes, indianyooper. I almost applied for one, but then balked at the idea. To only get paid if all four steps go right seems a little risky to me. I might be less hesitant if they offered $62.50 per step instead.
What credit score would be required to do these shops? Signed, Night Owl at 11:45 a.m.
I think it said over 680, but I might be thinking of a different shop.

You can pull the shop up on the board, and go through checking off the requirements to see if you qualify. You can always decline at the end.
$250 is not nearly enough for this.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
I always think shops like this are aimed at the person who is going to do the action anyway. If someone out there has the client bank and was going to apply for a HELOC anyway, then this shop totally makes sense. It's the same with another MSC's "Buy a new smartphone or switch carriers" shop.... If you were going to buy a new phone anyway, or were going to switch to that carrier, then taking the shop makes perfect sense. But if you weren't, then the bonus will have to get pretty high to make people consider it.

I assume that the MSCs post these kinds of shops at the rate they do hoping that it works out perfectly for someone who was going to do this anyway. Kind of like how MarketForce posts shops at fees that assume that the shoppers will be in the area anyway, or will maybe even be going to that Fast Food place or gas station, so why not take the shop for a couple of bucks?

If I were planning on taking out a HELOC anyway, I'd take Maritz's money to report on the experience. I'll be interested to hear @indianyooper's feedback after conducting the shop. I honestly have no idea how much might be enough to consider doing the shop and then "changing your mind" at the last minute if you're not really in the market for a HELOC.
