NSS

My #2 company, now has a waiting period between jobs of 6 months. I used to do them monthly, then every three 3 months, now 6 months, unless they can't get anyone to do them, I'll be called.....sad smiley

That's how it is with about 90% of the shops for A Closer Look. There is a local pizza place that has a waiting period of 6 months! There's several locations around town, the place is always packed with a line out the door, so how on earth would I appear to be a regular if I did the shop every couple months? None of the requirements scream "mystery shopper" either. Some clients are overly paranoid :/
This tells me that they have an abundance of shoppers. I'm losing everytime I turn around. This shop had no reimbursement and brought me a nice paycheck. NSS told me they now have 1 million shoppers including Canada. How can people live on this wage, unless your retired.

ACL has a group of restaurants, TexMex, burger, etc., that require 11 months between visits.
Yikes, I've been alsleep at the wheel, but do a very limited amount of work with select Companies. Thing is, above companies have probably been doing this for awhile, while this rule with NSS just imployied
this...I don't think it will last.

Many people do MS FT and make a decent living at it. I only do this PT but my PT income is equal to what some people make as their primary income for the year.

How many MSCs are you working for? I think I am registered with over 150 companies and I do work for 50+ companies on a regular basis. And I don't work for food.
I would imagine in a city as big as LA, along with metro areas, there is some steep competition. I also can imagine that traffic is a nightmare...never been there as an adult, but judging from how it was to drive in cities like Boston, Chicago, Houston, and Cleveland, I shudder to think...
Irene, are you doing their pizza shops? There is another MSC that has the same client and the same report requirements.

JAS, I used to live in West LA. Traffic was bad in certain area, at certain times, but it was manageable.

Your favorite shop does not consist of pepperoni pizza? smiling smiley I get that particular one every two weeks. I did not know they had a cap/waiting period on shops.
No, she wrote in her second post that it doesn't have reimbursement. Must not be the pizza shops. Which I love to do, not for the food, but for the bonuses. I won't do them otherwise, since ACL has some tasty local pizza chains that I shop where I actually work for food only because they are soooo goood!

I won't do them without a decent bonus either. That is my time I spent taking photos, making the calls, entering the report and I want to be paid for my time. smiling smiley

They have lowered the bonuses because they say shoppers are taking them. No matter to me, just pay me what I ask! tongue sticking out smiley
Yeah I was sad when they lowered the bonuses, though glad for the schedulers having to do so much less work. It really makes no sense to me sometimes that they won't give higher bonuses when they can't fill shops at the end of the month since they keep their employees later trying to fill the shops! Wouldn't it be cheaper to go ahead and pay a few extra dollars to get more shops done and not pay their employees more for staying late?

I would imagine part of the 6 mos rule might be to have a different shopper's point of view rather than having only one-3 shoppers who are quick at the draw picking up their favorite shop. This rule would mean 6 different shoppers are inputting data if the place is shopped monthly.
I know the pizza place I do for them I can do more frequently but that is because there evidently are not enough shoppers to fill the shop I do as often as they need it done.
Honny, no I don't do pizza shops, live alone and a whole pizza is too dangerous to me (you know what I mean).
They can never get them done. I do the upscale retail. I want to answer to the traffic problem in L.A. Beverly Hills where I get 4 shops within a block from each other (2 in each store) parking is free for 2 hours, and taking the canyon over cuts time and keeps me off the 405.
The new 6 month wait doesn't make sense, as, shoppers for these high end stores have regular customers that always return. they are in the system, and told about promotions when they come in. Paying customers don't shop in these stores once every 6 months. I am disappointed.

They called me every week to do the pizza shop. I think I'm only one of a few shoppers in my town. They don't start out with a shop fee but later in the cycle, they start offering a bonus. I like the pizza and after you get the hang of it, the pictures aren't too bad.
I got a call asking if I can go to Beverly Hills and do 3 of my old retail shops. He said he can't get qualified people, and is making an exception to get them done.....happy....smiling smiley

Trying to make mystery shopping FL income; I need it now.
I want to know how much is decent bonus? For some shops I am the only one because they keep me in the email chain and than I recieve call from them to get the shop assigned. Highest I have got 12 dollars bonus. Is this OK?
Stores are under 5 miles.

Shopping in SanFernando valley!
Love to travel; bring it on.
The size of the bonus depends on how many shoppers they have for the job. I'd say 12.00 bonus for 4 miles is fine. I was offered less, but, since I go right by the shop, I'll run in and do it. Doing more than one brings in more than you'd make refusing it.

Two days ago I received an email "You've Been Nomiated for a Shop With NSS". It is a shop I do regularly for them, with a repeat bonus attached. Email said the shops were on hold for me (and I checked, they were) until 8/6/16. So being out of state at the time, I figured I would confirm as soon as I got back in state. Well, today I went to confirm and they were no longer on hold for me with MY specified bonuses. They were no longer on hold for me at all. Well, it's after hours so I can't reach anyone of course to find out what happened. I did self confirm those two shops and am hoping they follow through on the originally agreed upon bonuses but this is ridiculous. This is the second time they've done this now, nominated me for shops...put said shops on hold...and then before the wait time was up took those shops OFF of hold. Last time they tried to convince me to do the shops without the originally offered bonuses and I declined. I'm hoping they have a bit more integrity this time and do the right thing.
I've done a particular pizza shop for NSS eight times since the beginning of the year. I negotiated a $10 bonus to do the shop the past two months. I must live in a neighborhood where I don't have competition. When they emailed a nomination last week I ignored it. When they telephoned I offered to do the shop for a $10 bonus (for the third month in a row). I did the shop this evening and stuck the pizza in the refrigerator. It may be lunch tomorrow.
I'm planning to request a larger bonus next month. I'm curious to see how high they'll go before they tell me to take a hike. I prefer my pizza to have more than two toppings. If I price myself out of the market I won't lose any sleep over it.
I ask and get a decent bonus. I've been doing 9 of the pizza shops every month for ages and they are a nice chunk of cash at the end of the month. I, too, have received the "nominated" email. Usually I ignore them but tonight I responded and upped the bonus figure by $6 as it requires a longer trek. We'll see how they respond. I love working for NSS. Their schedulers are responsive and on the ball.
I just got the nominated email. At first I did not notice the bonus. I did the shop just a couple of weeks ago with a smaller bonus and thought they had nominated me to do it for the regular fee which is a big fat 0. Then I noticed a nice bonus at the bottom of the email. Took the shop even though last time I swore to myself I would not do it again.
