Sentry editors?

Yes, I did contact David a while ago. I received a response that he was out of town and would look into later. This was weeks ago.

How disappointing. After posting on the forum and inviting you to contact him directly for answers to your questions, I would have thought you would get a quick response.

I believe that if one looks through previous threads, they will find that I typically respond to contact in a timely manner. In this case, I was on vacation when the initial contact was made. During my vacation, I received some news regarding a family matter which has consumed much of my time since I returned.

I have now responded to the forum member who contacted me.

This is not the type of inquiry that our editors would reply. While we would love to answer every inquiry that is submitted, it is simply not possible based on time.

GOOD LUCK on even getting a response from a Sentry editor! An editor gave me feedback that i need to "clip the excess around the receipt" (crop)- which I did!! If I cropped any more I would be cutting into the receipt! I asked for clarfiation over and over and over -- but the editors never responded. The schedulers are fine - but the editors do not bother to explain or answer questions.
Sorry, but you don't get to make rules and demand you that not be called at all. MSC can choose to honor that request or not. You are the independent contractor...you work for the MSC...if you don't like the way they do business, you are free to turn down the work. You need to be able to receive and return phone calls and emails.

and btw, I HAVE IN FACT GIVEN EXAMPLES OF THE NONSENSE EDITING....clearly errors on the editors part.

ie. There were 5 employees. I did in fact list all 5 and the interactions. Editor says I only have 4 listed. I resubmit with the exact same info, but am still admonished for not being thorough the 1st time. I would say things like that happen about 1/3rd of the time.

There have been times I have screwed up....i am not counting those times....

It wouldn't be so annoying when they make mistakes, but being admonished after pointing out the report was correct in the first place is frustrating. I had contacted the schedulers about it.....

I do not shop for Sentry anymore - after getting deactivated for pointing out blaring glimpses of the obvious about what goes on over there. My LARGE issue with Sentry is that the owner of the company seems to be the only person who can resolve issues with editing and payment and they have A LOT of issues with editing and payment. As he stated, while on vacation, something happened that is consuming his time and thus, he missed an email asking for resolution of an issue with an editor. If the issues are with the editors, get rid of the editors, retrain them, teach them to effectively resolve issues. An owner of an MSC should not be trolling our shop forum looking for fights, oh, I mean *issues* to solve. He is not the editors' mother, they are big boys and girls and they need to act like it. If it is proven that they are incompetent, they should be let go. I have a feeling that Sentry is paying peanuts to monkeys, as they say...
It's interesting that you accuse me of trolling the forum while you have the irresistible compulsion to comment on a company that you haven't shopped for since May 2014.

Your account was deactivated for the same reason your last post on this forum about Sentry was deleted. For those who don't remember, the post in question contained comments about me being overweight and overall, was a personal attack more than a comment about my company.

The rest of you post is rife with misinformation. Your assumptions about everything, from my interaction with the forum member in question to Sentry team compensation is off base. To be candid, you just don't know what you are talking about.

I've done many shops for them over the past year or so, in fact they tend to be one of my main companys I shop for. The last two months were rough on responses back from the editors. My ex, sister and I all noticed and commented to each other on that. Seemed out of the ordinary, like they were nitpicking and weren't going to let anything get by with a 100% good.

Most are reasonable, but yes, I noticed an increase lately.

Dave, I'd have to dig through emails, but I know my sister and I got the same response at least once. Something to the extent of "Good, thorough, well written, but you forgot a period at the end of a sentence. Please check grammar and punctuation better next time." It was just like...... Really? Months of no comments at all. Just good job for most part. Then all this sudden, many editors coming back with new requests/comments we've never seen before. Some we don't take as seriously as others.

I can tell (and appreciate) that several of the forms have been changed and updated overtime. I can tell there are certain things you/we are all getting a better hang of as the shops continue to be done. More refined.

Other would-be Sentry shoppers:

Below is feedback on a shop I did yesterday. I think a one-day response is remarkable as I often wait up to a week for a response from some MSCs. The point of sharing is to show that not all responses from Sentry are negative. BTW, I always scan my receipts on black poster paper and then use the crop/straighten tools to "frame" the receipt as well as make sure it is straight on the uploaded scan. I have nothing else to add to the string but I wouldn't want a casual reader to think that Sentry is rejecting every shop:

Feedback: Thank you for your report. There were minimal errors. Your answers were clear and detailed. Your meal descriptions were descriptive and objective. All negative answers were followed up on appropriately.

Thank you for your participation in this project. The Sentry Marketing Group

Shopping SoCal and Maui.
I guess I would have to review the feedback. In the example provided I didn't see anything out of line.

It's not that it's out of line, it's just after months of getting none to relatively little feedback, there seems to be a lot more lately. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but just noticeable.
I just started shopping for Sentry and so far I enjoy it. The approval process seems to be pretty quick. I've had a couple of pointers from the editors in my approval notes, but they were accepted nonetheless. So they aren't rejecting everything! The shops in Colorado Springs seem to be well worth the time so far.
Let me just say, I have been doing the fast food shop for about a year and a half. And ANYTIME I have had a question for the Sentry editor -- they have NEVER answered a question from me. I sent one question 4 times a couple of months ago, no answer. I gave up. Even the scheduler said she can't do anything if the editors don't answer email.
I would be happy to discuss this with you. Please contact me directly at dave@sentrymarketing.com.
