Intellishop: Is this a joke??

I know. That pay is totally ridiculous. Do like I do .. don't accept those - not worth your time.

Keep in mind that this only works if you pay the balance of the card off every month. If you have a balance that carries over, any rewards or perks you get from the Credit Card is likely going to be eaten up by fees and interest. So you need to be able to charge something now, pay it off in a couple of weeks and then be reimbursed potentially a few weeks after that. Like most things in our society, you have to have some extra money to take advantage of it. Not fair, I agree, but that's the way it is. Good luck!

This MSC doesn't always pay promptly. The fees I received were pretty high but I had to follow up with this MSC a few times to get paid for a simple car dealership shop when the sales rep did not make the follow-up call to me that the shop was designed to check.

Even though the vast majority of my mystery shops have gone well and I almost always got paid, there were a few where something went wrong and I made $0. There is always that risk. Putting $1000 on a credit card is too risky for me in a mystery shop.
I will not do a mystery shop for less than $12 - my bare minimum. I call this my 'respect margin' as my time is valuable. Most often, when I contact a scheduler directly, I get the 'bump'. I believe it's important for all of us to be considered 'professionals'

My first shop with them was a wire money to Mexico.

It took months for me to get my reimbursement, the editor wouldn't open the pictures I attached, and the scheduler was a non-communicative moron.

The only shops I do for them now are ones where I don't spend any money, either cash or on a credit card.

It depends upon how much you trust a particular MSC. Last month I put enough on a rewards credit card to earn me a free flight -- but it was a company I knew would take care of timely payment. There are companies I'm willing to front large amounts of money for and those that I'm not.

I hadn't even considered silverstein's comment about the exchange rate. These would need to pay a lot more and be handled by a different MSC for me to take a second look.

Also, if you have an interest bearing checking account, or a checking account with a credit union, your debit card probably offers cash back.

You are one of the very few shoppers who have been fortunate to have such a positive experience with Intellishop so consider yourself lucky for now as you may not always be treated so well in the future.
I got an email for that shop. I was like what the heck? Make reservations from outside the USA then try to cancel. Like getting a refund would be easy. That is such a crock of @#@#
intellishop is: without-a-doubt, indubitably, unquestionably one of the worst mscs to hitch your wagon to.

amirite?
They have some easy (and often bonused) cable-type shops. It's an easy form and decent money for about 15 minutes on-site and 15 minutes writing it up (plus a photo.) I have seen the car postings. No way would I ever give my real contact info to a car dealer unless I was really buying a car.

Shopping SoCal and Maui.

Yes, one of the worst. Bottom feeders, low bidders. Plus, they spam you with so many emails. Oh, they don't respond when you need them because they are too busy.
Intellishop Is indeed a joke, they tried to fraud me couple of times, I emailed to MSPA and company but no response. I blocked them . Beware of schedulers - Matt Fane and Stephanie

Hh.
I have done a lot of shop for them and got pay for all of them. I have no problem with this compancy.

Lucky you. That's quite a testimonial.
Yeah, I saw a shop today that required $1000 credit max. Maybe the stores are tricking people into making purchases. Ha ha & ha. But yeah, the one I looked paid a little more money but the one described here is another example of the lack of professionalism on the part of some of the companies. Honestly, if somebody was going to do all of that work and be happy with $10, I would think that they were...uh...odd.
SoCal Mama...your "tongue-in-cheek" is hilarious.....I gagged on my red wine just now!
Ha!

Hmmm...I am sure that there are many of us who have $1,000s available on our CCs. That's not why we are mystery shopping. At least me, anyway.

I don't even own a credit card... I have a local bank visa and it actually prohibits use outside the US without me first calling to activate the country... and even then could be an issue 0_o

clinen, I probably have 15 of them, some of which I rarely use. I never carry a balance other than on the 1 card I have with a 0% intro rate. It's really come in handy, especially with some of the high-end hotels and restaurant shops.
I have a car shop with them and pre internet inquiry.. I sent a message as the pre internet snap shot did not show the comments section. . (which did not populate as shop guidelines till after I did the submissions but were in another section!)( Very very confusing directions all over the place!)I followed the request guidelines for the pre shop Internet guidelines but snapshot did not show the questions I asked. So I cut and pasted them on my survey question. I have asked via email if this will be a problem? Hoping to hear back as the shop is tomorrow. You do get lots of emails from the car shop from the dealer. If I have to start this all over with pre submission request via Internet because the picture cut off the comments section, I probably will not do this shop. Lots of questions: more than most car shops.
Sounds like a scam to me. but knowing intellishops they do have guidelines that are unbelievable. On a vehicle shop you were to ask NO QUESTIONS or prompt the salesperson for more information or show interest in the pitch. After a few minutes the salesperson gets frustrated and gives you the Bum's rush out the door so they can get back in rotation. The shopper had to get a business card or the shop would be invalid. I was sure to get the card. If they offered me a brochure or scrap paper I told them I need a business card so I know who said what. when I write down the information.
I do have the credit available but I would never do such a shop because of the danger of being burned and not for ten dollars either. As far as a western union shop goes, I have used western union to send money many times and if a mistake is made you only get the amount back that you sent not the fee no matter who makes the error.
