seelevelhx, you're just killin' me.

i've done 100's of assignments with seelevelhx (and their other subsidiaries) over the years and all my assignments have been completed on time (or before if warranted) with virtually no need for any further clarification(s). i don't mind getting their "friendly reminders" starting 2 days before the scheduled assignment date, then the day before and then the morning of the assignment date but... today...

i'm driving and i get an incoming call. i have a new high-tech car (bluetooth enabled) with a screen that displayed a call from area code 404. i decided to answer the phone (hands free) and i get a nice-sounding southern-accented voice asking, "is this brian xxxxx".

i answer yep, it is. then i get, "how are you today?".

i answer that i'm doing just great. who is this, plz? then i get, "this is xxxx from seelevelhx".

i answer with a hello, what can i do for you?. then i get, "are you having a wonderful day?".

i answer with my day is just wonderful what is that you need from me? then i get, "this is just a friendly reminder that you have a shop that is due tomorrow".

now i'm trying to listen to my gps in the background and this person has been prattling (kinda/sorta like the out-of-the-country mf schedulers who go onandonandon confirming an assignment that you've done 100's of times but they insist on relating every aspect of the assignment = beyond frustrating) onandonandonandon wondering about the state/condition of my day and giving me, yet another, reminder of an assignment that is not past due although i have never, ever not completed one for them.

so i say to this nice-sounding (maritz-type woman) how about never, ever call me again to remind me about an assignment that is not past due and raising the fee structure for my assignments to make up for the savings in not having to place calls to me. that was met with anticipated silence (not even a chuckle) and i asked to please make a note to not make these calls going forward.

maybe, tho, seelevelhx is seeing more assignments not being completed on time and/or they have brought shoppers aboard that lack the skills necessary to complete assignments. if so, in either case, there just might be somewhat of a correlation with the fees being offered.

you get what you pay for?

no more accepting calls from area code 404 for me.

I dated a guy called...amirite.
I agree to a point, it is annoying, and if they cut the phone calls, maybe give shoppers a dollar more....
whoopee....they must be getting flakes, and yes, you get what you pay for. Calm down and listen to your
music...it'll all come out in the wash!!!!

Live consciously....
Well now, I'm going to stick up for the "Maritz-type woman" who, like us, is just trying to earn a living. Maybe she makes $.50 per call she makes? Regardless of how upset you are with the MSC and their tactics, everyone deserves to be treated with respect. I presume the OP's Maritz remark pertains to the caller's age. Given that, the caller is likely supplementing their social security in order to turn the heat on this winter. Have a heart!

Shopping up and down the Colorado Rocky Mountain front range.

Well, at least it wasn't like the MarketForce folks that call and talk a thousand miles per minute in monotone, non-understandable English (where is their call center?!) just to offer you a dollar more on a shop that has sat on the job board for weeks. I feel your pain...

Sometimes Atlanta, sometimes the Philippines.

^^^ This

We are really grateful that you do such a tremendous job for us. I would ask you to consider, would we pay people to spend the day on the phones calling shoppers to remind them about assignments if all shoppers did the job you do? Not a chance.

Unfortunately some solutions end up hitting the problem with a hammer, and you get the call because of the people who need the call.

Regarding how our scheduler addressed you, I'm happy to hear that he or she was so friendly and polite, and not sure what to say about that bothering you.

As you said, please feel free to ignore the 404 (hey, that's catchy) and thanks again for being as reliable as you are.

I just want them to PAY what they owe for the eyeglasses shops.....Until then, my advice is to stay away from SL....

We pay the 15th of the month for work successfully completed in the prior month. If something is wrong, please contact nicole.monturo@seelevelhx.com so we can look into it for you.

Our schedulers are employees and we try to compensate them fairly just like our shoppers.

Don't know what to say about the assumption on the scheduler's age - not sure where that idea comes from.

Thank you - been a long week. Ever thought of a job editing???

Been there and done that, thank you! I couldn't stay committed to the hours required. I was an editor for ACL back in 2004-2005 and with Ardent from 2010-2011. I like my freedom and can't be chained to my desk smiling smiley

Or maybe .01 per minute?
thanks, seriously, for replies from seelevelhx. seelevelhx is one of the few companies that is proactive and address issues head-on with explanations and mea culpa's (where/when warranted) rather than deflect.

if my somewhat rant about an unnecessary/unwarranted telephone call to me is my biggest gripe of the day or if it's seelevelhx's biggest issue to deal with of the day then both of us are in good shape.

have a wonderful/splendid weekend.

We're not perfect. I have a large team and I don't know what everyone is doing all the time. We'll make mistakes.

Know this though - I spent many years of my life not having two nickels to rub together. I drove around a borrowed Ford Escort that I had to enter on the passenger side because a rollover accident had crushed the door on the driver's side. It would stop running randomly and strand me in downtown Detroit several times a week.

I know what it's like to really NEED the pay I earned, and I assume that our shoppers NEED the pay they earn with us. If a shopper does a fair job for us, you can bet I'll make sure we treat them fairly.

I'll make an effort to check in with the forums more often. There is of course a lot of 'noise' but there is also valuable feedback. You don't just shop our clients, you shop us too.

I'm so impressed. There have been other MSC reps/owners in the forum who have not been so gracious and instead have been condescending, power-tripping and unkind. Thank you, Geoff, for being so cool.

We love people (yes, MSC reps are people too) who can accept responsibility for occasional slips and errors and not always have a finger pointed. There has been plenty of that going on in this forum, believe me sad smiley. It's nice to know that the people on the other side are human, too smiling smiley.
I requested a shop from Seelevelhx. The scheduler gave it to another mystery shopper. The shopper flaked. Then, they begged me to do the job. Nope, it's not on my route any longer.

They should keep a record of good shoppers.
We do, of course, keep ratings on our shoppers. Without knowing your specific situation I'm unable to comment - but obviously we want the best shopper for the job every time.

There are cases where a great shopper isn't the first choice through no fault of the shopper.

VP Operations, SeeLevel
I have done several shops for Seelevel and have to commend them for the fast payments on my shops. knock on wood lol I have had no problems with them and honestly keep a close eye on the job board because of this. Seeing them on this forum and actively staying connected to their shoppers re enforces my desire to stay shopping for them. Thanx for caring!

Most of the ones that call me show Oklahoma, Texas, or Florida. But it must be in a non-English speaking area.

Geoff - It is unlikely I will get a response from Nicole regarding the eyeglasses shops. This program has been so botched by SeeLevel that undoing the confusion will take several months. When SeeLevel sends emails advertising "FREE" eye glasses, when nothing of the sort happens, one has to wonder about your organization (or ethics). The best bet for most is to avoid SeeLevel until YOU can start answering calls and written communciation!

My offer stands. You've decided it won't help before trying it.

I'm not sure what confusion you're referring to, and I already addressed the fact that the eyeglasses are free up to $350 which is clearly stated in the survey.

This survey requires the following before submission:

"IMPORTANT:

By checking "I Accept" you are stating that you have read and understand all of the project specifications and materials provided for this project, that all of the above information is true, and that this report was completed to the best of your abilities."

At the top of the survey, which you stated you read and understood, it says (in bright red):

"Your glasses can cost up to $350. [It says this twice - there is a heading and text again below this heading]

If you are questioned as to why you don't want to use your insurance to pay for the glasses, you can explain that you wish to use the remaining allowance for another time/reason (i.e. a pair of prescription sunglasses, contact lenses)."

I've offered to help you and you've chosen to question our ethics and suggest other shoppers should avoid us. At this point it appears that you are determined not to be satisfied, and there isn't much we can do about that. We can help you with anything which you are owed and have not received, and I've offered you a path to get this help.

Thanks,

-Geoff

accusing a company for their lack of ethics (in these kinds of situations) is in the eye of the beholder and without getting into the specifics of your grievance (it could be misinterpretation of the guidelines and/or your failure to follow them or ??? and i personally don't have the time/interest in going back to research the situation) is egregious behavior and is unwarranted and uncalled for. and your calling for "most" to avoid SeeLevel must bring a smile/smirk to most of us cuz...it ain't gonna happen.

"just the facts"...with attribution to sgt. joe friday

just remembered something about you. aren't you the person who accused ipsos/summit scheduling of being dishonest because of some kind of weighing issue with their xxxx assignments? and they refused to pay you for 6-ish shops (as i remember) because you failed to follow directions/guidelines.

and that turned out to be a figment of your imagination.

i see a trend here (if i'm correct) and the only dishonest entity and the one lacking in ethics happens to be (get ready for it)......y o u !!!!!

while i happen to be a psychologist i won't attempt to do any armchair head-shrinking (without pay) but it's my feeling there might be some issues that you might want to address with a professional.

kick the person's ass who's responsible for your actions and you won't sit down for a week, whinemaker.

i keep editing this screed cuz i keep remembering something about this person and the continual misinformation and the blaming/shaming/finger-pointing (sounds like a politician that does the same thing, eh?).

JASFLALMT - I was thinking the same thing... About another MSC who answers complaints by picking fights and, in general, just being a complete a**hole...
Yeah, I figured anyone who has been around for awhile knows exactly which MSC rep/owner I was referring to without naming any names, LOL.
