More Coyle Nonsense (MCN)

Again...not unreasonable considering the client. I fit the required demographic and wouldn't eat at those places on my own dime!

Forgetting about age, you had to do a couple of those restaurants in order to get a good one. I did many and finally found out the reason I'm not getting what I want, .new age requirement (at least I know it was nothing I did). I agree the restaurants in Santa Monica don't twerk my taste buds, although some of the dinner houses are o.k. Since I prefer working in my town, I'm good.

Live consciously....
When I go to their higher end shops, I notice that the people there are usually celebrating a special occasion, so the husband and I would do the same. We just wouldn't be dining at these places on a random Thursday/Friday night, if we were not doing the shops smiling smiley

The first assignment I ever did with my GF was a fine dining shop where you have to say it's a birthday or anniversary, so we said it was our anniversary. It then become the theme of our mystery shopping experience and we say that at every restaurant and hotel we evaluate.

After traveling of a two-week binge of shopping hotels, we really liked the idea of having an anniversary every day. Now, instead of say, "Good morning," we say, "Happy anniversary!" to each other smiling smiley
I recently signed up with Coyle. I haven't done hotel shops before, and after I applied for a shop I got an email from Coyle saying that they assign their hotel shops to their more experienced shoppers. They suggested I do a few restaurant shops for them first. I can certainly understand that, but when I applied for a restaurant shop, I didn't get that either, which was frustrating. They don't have very many restaurant shops in my area, so I don't know when I will be able to apply for one again. And I did see a hotel shop that had been listed for a while and nobody had taken it yet, so I wondered if I should apply anyway and write them a note about why I would be right for it. Did you all have to do restaurants before they would assign you hotels?
No, Chelsea. My first shop for them was an upscale hotel. It was in a city nearby so the travel cost to the client was minimal (so was the pay.) I'm guessing that's why I didn't have to do a restaurant first. I understand that's not the norm, though.

Now scheduling travel shops for the day after Christmas through mid-January.
I had to spend some time doing restaurant and even call and email shops before I received a hotel shop for Coyle. It took a little while, but it was worth it. Coyle is my favorite company now. I also went out of my way to help schedulers out by doing the shops with upcoming due dates. Sometimes there are things going on behind the scenes with a client that cause the schedulers to delay scheduling a specific shop. It might not necessarily be that they don't think you're qualified.
