How soon is too soon to badger JM Ridgeway about payment?

I did a shop five weeks ago for JM Ridgeway that I thought was going to be rejected. Lo and behold, my shop log was updated with the reimbursement amount and the shop was marked "received." So I guess it was accepted.

That being said, I've heard that people sometimes have to contact them in order to be paid. I'm trying to round up as many of my payments as possible before the new year and I'm wondering-- would it be too soon to start pestering them for payment? Does anyone have a "rule of thumb" for when to ask for payment from an MSC that hasn't yet paid?

Back in 2011, I used to have to badger Ridgway for payment, so I limited working for them because I don't like to have to badger for payment. I never got paid until I emailed Ann and asked for the money. I noticed a big change a couple years later and so I started doing a lot more work for them.

I'm puzzled by the reports that shoppers are still having to ask for their money. I haven't had to do that in recent years. They seem to pay through PayPal between the 6th and the 15th of the month. I think they also pay by check and I'm not sure what the payment schedule on that is, I'm guessing it takes longer to receive the check than a PayPal deposit. I just got paid for shops done in October. If your shops were done in October and you haven't been paid, I would email them. If your shop was done in November, I would wait until January.
Okay, thanks for the advice! It was done in the beginning of November so I will wait until after the 15th January if I still haven't been paid by then.
I never usually ask for payment from any of my companies. There is rarely an instance where I need to. Follow the payment times in the sticky note and if you need to contact someone, then I would do so. smiling smiley
I have not had to ask for payment from JM Ridgeway in a few years. My spreadsheet shows I am paid between 35 and 54 days this year. That is based on about 2 dozen shops.
You will get a very rude reply if you ask prior to their self-imposed deadline, which I believe is 52 days. It's on their website at about 45 days with another week or so grace period.

You are not a truely seasoned mystery shopper until you've had to deal with Frank and survived.
