Market Force (Purple)

Well I am / was there biggest cheerleader on this site but you all knew it was just a matter of time. HOWEVER, it was 100% my own fault. My husband who has a great deal of health problems was in the hospital yet AGAIN. I did inform them that I was going to be more then 3 days late on a project and asked to be taken off. They said it would be ok if I did it on "____" day instead. I agreed. There were complications at the hospital and I was just not able to get the project done AT ALL. I knew I was doomed, I prepared myself for the removal from the site.
I will add here that I was sad, I LOVE the balloon jobs I did and I just in general liked the jobs I took from them. I gave them my 100% and most times even more (i.e worked way past there hour limits for the measly $8.00 because I took pride in what I did).
So because I deserved to be removed, I cant really complain about that. BUT here is my issue.
They also took off my husband AND my SON. Neither of them has ever done much work for them (my son none at all). So why on earth is there a need to be NASTY and punish them for MY issue?!?!
I did alot of work for this company and I will say I will truly miss it. It became part of my every single day.
So now here I am just another casualty of the purple/blue monster sad smiley

There are some several things that take priority over work whether you are an IC or an employee. Health of you or family members, transportation breakdowns, and unsafe weather. There is a reason these things are categorized as 'emergencies'. Certainly when an employee or an IC has what appears to be too many emergencies I can understand termination. I respect that you were attempting to work with them by rescheduling, too bad they don't respect that. What they, and some other companies, seem to fail to recognize is that there are many mystery shoppers who do this because their situation or the situation of family members does not allow them to reasonably take on a 9-5 job due to the number of days that would be missed for health related emergencies. Many of these folks, when they CAN work, work extra hard just because they know they need a little slack when they or a family member is ill.

I'm sorry that it didn't work out. You may want to contact them in 6 weeks or so and see if they will reinstate you. Obviously somebody got pissy and went out of their way to delete all of you.
Yes Flash, I got several voice mails that were very nasty all in a few hour span. My phone does not get called in the hospital so I wasn't able to answer when they called.
Not that it is there business but I would have been more then willing to fax them hubby's hospital records, or discharge info, I would bet they would not want to print it, it would take WAY to much paper.

I don't know if calling in 6 weeks is an option for me, this is sort of like mourning a loss in an odd way. But I am sure I will live, lol.
I disagree that you deserved to be removed. A family emergency trumps all other issues. The MSC should have had the decency to take that into account; especially if you always complete your shops on time and do not have a habit of canceling on them.

Good Luck.
I'm sure you will live as well. I have managed quite well without them! I only suggest attempting to reconnect because 1) you know the jobs so can handle them without issue; 2) you have enjoyed the jobs you did; 3) you evidently enjoyed the working relationship with the company. To a great extent the devil you know is better than the one you don't know.
I agree with computer_man. If it were me, I'd write a nice email to them, after your husband is home and doing well, and re-explain what occurred. Let them know how much you enjoy shopping for them and apologize again.

I hope that Market Force reinstates you, and most importantly, that your husband feels better soon.
God first, family second and work third or fourth. When a MSC removes you when you have family health concerns they do not deserve you. You are better off in the long run with out that MSCs shops.
I don't think that particularly applies to the Blue portal. They apparently ditch you when you have had enough issues over time to be a 'problem' or when apparently when you have accumulated enough shops that score outside of the statistically 'normal' range. I have been working with them for a number of years--since long before they were acquired by Market Force. While I may wake up some fine morning and find that I have been deactivated because I fell outside 'normal' range, until then there are nice direct deposits to my bank account like clockwork every month for work that pays reasonably well for how simple it is.
They should track separately, so you may have signed up for blue before. Go to [www.shopnchekshopper.com] and try to log in using your purple ID and password. See if it will let you in. If not, try the "Forgot your Shopper ID and/or Password" to see if that gets you anywhere. If all else fails, call them at 303-402-6916 and see if they can help you sort it out.
I would not seek to re-join or talk nicely to a MSC that had de-actived my entire family over health issues....hopefully, they will again need you more than you need them. I was de-actived and did one job for them here in L.A., I have no clue as to why...I later found out you can't work for them both in Vegas and L.A. They owe shopper the decency to email you before de-activation I needed to email before doing 1st.job,as I had 2 questions to ask, got paid for job and de-actived a week later. My reply to them, "Up yours".

Why can you not shop for them in both LA and Las Vegas? What is the reasoning?

Liz
Liz, I don't know why you can't work both in Vegas and L.A. I found out by accident when applying for a shop in L.A., and was then told, and had to stop working for them in Vegas before getting job in L.A. Had to go through hoops to change. I work for other MSC's in both Vegas and L.A., no one has this rule but MF. Reading Justme's post about her family's illness and de-activation without cause, I'm done and don't care.

May be a dumb question to some but, here goes. What is Market Force Purple and Blue?
The Blue side is for Mystery Shopping and the Purple side is for merchanising and/or audits. I have only done one job for the Purple side. The jobs I see over there don't pay enough IMHO.
Just beware the purple portal loves for you to do months of work for them and cancel you for no reason and not pay you for the last 60 days of work you do for them. Just beware.

And then the blue portal cancels your account for no reason because the purple one did it for no reason?
@JustMe615 You should contact a Supervisor at Marketforce and explain your issue.
They are fair and no doubt once all the facts are known will re-instate you.
I work for over 30 mystery shopping companies, rarely do I get calls from amy of them. 95% of the time I just work via e-mail. Not so with Purple Portal MF! I get sometimes as many as six phone calls a day in broken English from the Phillipeans. It is so obvious they are reading from a script. It always starts like.....

"Hi this is.... (fill in any American sounding first name) ie. Bubba, Billy Bob, Sally, Bil, David, Betty, etc.) from Market Force! May I speak with Ed? Hi Ed, how are you doing? (( Please consider for a moment how bizzare it is to be getting so many calls from 9,000 miles away from people I do not know who always want to know "How I am doing!))

Then they launch in, I have available assignment HST439 at location W348 can you do this? WHAT???? Give me a name or a City, not this crap!

As for me, I am getting these calls sometimes while on another mystery shop for another company or while driving up some mountain highway in the Blue Ridge or Great Smokey Mountains. Often this involves going up 14% grades or executing 360 turns on windy mountain road (when I have any cell phone coverage at all). It is not like you can call any of these Phillipeano people back if you miss their call.

One time I had three different MF Purple people calling me at the SAME TIME for different assignments.

Yesterday I had one of them calling me for a Blue Portal assignment, a simple drive through resturant that I have done hundreds of. This person was going to drag this out for 30 minutes, reading me all of the qualifying questions, etc.

Then they always end with the same monologue about MF's toll free help desk number and their website, as if I am not there every day anyway.

The cultural disconnect and wasted time dealing with these nutty calls is causing me to seriously consider cutting myself off from MarketForce totally, both Blue & expecially Purple Portal.

They also have a rather deranged supervisor (purple portal) at the Scheduling desk who deleted my annount when one shop was not done by deadline (I did have 16 other shops successfully completed that same week).

It took someone over there several hours to rekey in all of my permanent assignments, pending jobs, etc.

Is anyone else having these issues? Does anyone intelligent at Market Force realize just how out of step they are with the rest of this industry?
