Best mark

Hey gang:

Anyone notice anything odd going on over at Best Mark? I've had shops in for over 2 weeks now that are still saying "uploaded" and pending confirmation/verification. Plus it seems that by my records they are off a week by paying as they are saying checks are going out this Friday.

I emailed them about it and they said that they had a huge bunch of shops that would be paid tomorrow (this was earlier this week and tomorrow meant Friday) and more than likely mine would all be covered in it. But they still haven't been approved. I emailed them again today about the shops still being in limbo and asked what the deal was and have heard nothing. The schedulers are calling to fill jobs but now I'm hesitant to take any as I have some in from the 5th that are still not paid. Never had a problem with them before, always top notch.

Any thoughts? ideas? Gossip?

I have always been paid on time with them. I have two shops now that say verified and I expect payment around the 5th of June. Of course that is if all is well.
They told me today was which is why my radar is up:

Yea, I just checked. I don't have a check cutting for tomorrow, according to my records it should be next week. Haven't noticed anything weird with them. Are you emailing the shceduler directly?
They rarely ever respond to my emails as it is, so I can't help you with that matter =D
My records showed that it should have been cut last week which is why this is so odd. This is directly from someone in the payment department. Very odd. Very very odd.
My payments for May are on track. I've already received a check on shops done early in the month, and subsequent shops are slated to be processed May 27.
I really would not worry about Best Mark. These guys are great about paying. They show you when you are being paid. How much simpler can that be? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, but it is really simple.
I know its very simple which is why it concerned me when the shops I have submitted have not gone through verification and some go back to 5/5/11.

I've never had a problem with them either but if you read the email they sent me that they are behind I was curious to know if anyone else had an issue. Thats how simple it was.
If you are not getting paid every two weeks from BestMark, call them. They are great folks. They are there for you. (I get checks from them every 2 weeks.) Have I ever had a problem with them? Yes. My own stupidity, not theirs. I still shop for them.
I have no intention to stop shopping for them.....lets put it this way...."i want some baby back baby back baby back ribs"......

I've never had an issue with them until now but in this economy anything goes unfortunately. The only place I ever got screwed from was that Melissa Benson at DSS and thankfully that was less than 30 bucks. When the coffee place in the book stores were cancelled and my scheduler called me as they (book store) was closing she couldn't have been sweeter when she apologized and we both commiserated over the loss of that great store.
I have been doing shops for bestmark for about 1 year now and have had no problem what so ever.
I've gotten paid 3 weeks in a row - every Saturday a paycheck. Seems they had massive catch up to do for some reason but all is good now.
I love Bestmark, always have. My first company to shop for, so I have a soft spot for them in my heart. They always pay like clockwork.

Now come on.....what would America really be without BestMark! They have the sweetest editors in the business! They are ok in my book. Only screw ups were on my part.
for some reason they are sending me a check weekly now = and I am not complaining. Their editors aren't just sweet - some of them are outright hillarious.

I did a car service shop for them once and it was an absolute nightmare. I had put in my report when they asked about the waiting room that it made the DMV waiting room look like Buckingham Palace, it was THAT GROSS. When the editor called me to confirm one detail about why these geniuses could not figure out what an air filter was she told me that they have a board that they put up shoppers' "best comments" of the week on. I won that week.
Be careful doing their insurance telephone shops. I had been doing them because they are quick and easy and did not require you to give a lot of information to the company in an attempt to get a quote. They just changed the instructions and now require youto give your driver's license number. I did not think that was too bad until the agent on my last call disclosed that the company uses that information to pull your credit. They call it a "Soft Hit." I think Bestmark should be disclosing that information in the instructions (but they don't). The agent told me they don't need your ssn that the company has a way around it with your address, DL number and date of birth, all of which Bestmark tells you to give. I think it's wrong of them not to disclose to shoppers that their credit will take a hit for a $7 call. BEWARE!

That kind of inquiry on your credit report has no impact on your credit rating.
