Well here's another - last payment was Dec - for Oct 2012!!! I have e-mailed SEVERAL times with no response. Always have to chase down for payments. Apparently he doesn't care what people say on the forum. If you see this TOM - BE PROFESSIONAL about this and correspond!!!!

BEWARE!!! Again, this Tom Callaghan is not paying people for the work they do. This is a job I applied to on ShadowShopper.com...
I have done $275 worth of work and am not seeing a cent of that. I'm wondering what course of action I can take, I will give a lot of effort and energy into seeing that I get paid fairly. Please share any methods or tactics which you folks have used in order to receive money that you're owed from this guy! At the moment, I am trying to contact any and all mystery shopping organizations in order to make it difficult for this person to operate, since I'm sure that he gets away with as much nefarious business as possible. I have all the proof and saved records of my work and will not hesitate to go to the proper authorities if and when necessary.

Hi. We have easy telephone shops available to be conducted from your home. Short yes/no questionnaire with short narrative to be completed after each of the calls. The calls with take approximately 3 - 5 minutes and another five minutes to complete the questionnaire.

You will be calling local car rental agencies to measure how well they perform. The calls need to be conducted in French and the questionnaire needs to be completed in English.

Why not file legal charges against Tom via a police report for theft? That will get his attention.
Using mystery shoppers money to float his own company?? No thanks - 10 foot pole. I hope once the shoppers finally get paid they will not do anymore work for this company. Do you get interest on the funds that he is holding from you - NO. Just as we have to honor our contracts they need to honor theirs also. Ninety days means that, 91 days and you are late. We do not have the option of submitting our reports "when we get around to it" so why are they holding our money - to float their company. No thanks - that is such poor business practice not to mention how unprofessional it is to have your shoppers have to "hunt you down" to get paid.
These posts are most important for shoppers....always report to us when MSC fails to pay, and thanks for the tip.

Not paying a contractor is not theft and the police won't be interested. It's a civil matter and you would need to sue him. (Unless things are different in Canada. But jurisdiction might be an issue if you made the phone calls from the United States into Canada, depending on where Tom actually lives or has an office.)

I actually received payment after my last e-mail to Tom Callaghan saying that I would go to the proper authorities with contact info found on the ssishops.com (owned by Tom Callaghan) whois search results. I am sorry that some others have not been so lucky. I have yet to receive my final invoice, however.
The police will file a police report though, which then you have a valid police report number. Include this on your communication to him and let him know your next letter will be sent in XX amount of days from a law firm (provide a specific name).
Have you contacted Shadow Shopper about this? If he's running ads there, and not paying, that is reflecting on the reliability of SS as a job source.

Goodwin of today is not the Goodwin of old. They always pay on time, respond to issues and are (now) a joy to work with. I know all about the past but now is now and you should work with that and do not slam them for long prior issues. Everyone deserves a second chance.
doclloyd, that is great that you're getting paid and have a good relationship with whomever you're working for. The issue being discussed is about Tom Callaghan of ssishops.com, not "Goodwin". Not everyone is so fortunate. My last invoice is being completely ignored although I've sent regular reminders. Beware and do not work for this person.

While my work relationship with Mr. C & SSI has been strained I have been paid as promise every 3rd month after Shopping. Which a few MS companies do also (I will not name them).

The challenge for me came this morning when an e-mail sent to both Mr.C and his associate came back as undeliverable.
I just would like to know if anyone else has this situation in contacting Mr. C.
