What do you mean weird? Weird can be good, bad or indifferent. In fact most of the companies I work with are weird one way or another :-)
In the last 2 months I have did 4 shops for them, no issues. won't take anymore though because they are small hits to my credit report.
Hi, Christie, welcome to the forum. Go to the New Mystery Shopper area and read everything there. This is really not a job, it's more of a free-lance contractor. You register with many companies and you will then be able to check their Job Boards and take one job at a time. The jobs typically pay anywhere from $5 to $20, depending on the company and on the requirements of the shop itself. Payment usually comes in a month or so, again depending on the company. Some companies pay fast and others pay slower. I suggest signing up with a lot of companies.
A bunch of young kids are working at DSG! They have no idea what they are doing. Assignments are NOT clear. I called them, but they can’t explain even on a phone what needs to be done. My recommendation – stay away from this company!
There are many good mystery shopping companies in the Internet.
Ann - I had questions about handling the contract requirements on my first job and called the company. I wasn't finding out what I needed to know, and continued to ask questions about the contract. The representative eventually said, "If this is too difficult for you, I can take it off the schedule." Well, downhill from there. I'm not proud of the conversation that followed, but I'm proud I cut that line before I got tangled up in it. Move on, Ann, and work for people who appreciate you.

I did not know they affect your credit report. Are you sure?
I do not agree with this. I have NEVER had any problems with this company. If I had a question, it was answered without a problem. I have had any problems.
I was actually informed by the insurance company that they run a credit check that is not a "full" one and it's. Soft hit. I was old 4-5 soft ones equal a big one. When you take the ins. shop the agent should tell you this.
The company has changed...very difficult to now get a job from the scheduling people. You sign up and no one calls back, seems to be a waste of time at this point. They only offer Ins. here, and I don't want to gamble on the "soft verus hard" credit hits, way too risky.

Live consciously....
I agree, this is a company that you should stay away from! I did the auto quote assessment as I see others have completed. I was promised a payment of $65.00 for EACH Insurance company that I received a quote from (I was assigned four ins. co. and submitted paper work for all four companies. On Time!!!

Long story short, I received $65.00 and was told that I most have missed understood my scheduler. Not so! Before taking on the assignment I ask the Scheduler would the sum of my payment be $260.00 he confirmed.
They are not worth the headache!
WEIRD? No, not truthful...

I don't know what it is with them! I signed up with DSGA, but they won't accept my email address (it's @mypersonaldomain.com). I can say I lucked out there!

They have completely messed up my husband's shopping experience! He had been staying in City#1. So when he signed up with them, he used City#1 address. However, he would come home on weekends, so he also said he could shop here at City#2 on weekends.

They sent him an email, asking: "Are you INTERESTED in any of these shops?" He replied to the email and indicated which ones he was INTERESTED in.

Like this:
I am interested in performing some of these shops, please let me know if they are available!
I can perform shops in *this-city* Monday nights, Tues, Wed, Thurs.
I can perform shops in *this-city* Friday nights, Sat & Sun.

Several weeks later, he starts getting phone calls, "We need your reports!" "Your reports are due!" No emails, nothing! He's like, "WTH?" Why are they calling me? I don't have any assignments with them!

I told DH I was glad I couldn't get signed up with them from all of the confusion! How could they just automatically assign a job you said you were only INTERESTED in?

I did 2 auto insurance shops for DSG last month, and the pre-survey, report, and post-survey was actually designed very thoroughly and professionally. My scheduler was also very thorough and detail-oriented and even worked around my schedule when it came time for me to reschedule those assignments due to a family emergency.

I see absolutely nothing weird with DSG at all. I look forward in shopping with them again.
I LOVE working with DSG! The only problem I have is when they send out an assignment they've asked if I want "reserved" and it has a date that does not work for me. I usually have to call them but they'll reschedule it with no problem. They've always paid on-time, even if I've forgotten to send in my receipt, which I just remembered I need to do for a shop I just completed...lol SMH! But I've always had good repoire with them from day one and I've been with them for a long time! :-)

Wanted to share. I have been signed up a few months. About a month ago a very nice person called and offed me several shops in my area. We discussed available dates, and all kinds of stuff. She was very nice, informative and knowledgeable, (she sounded young too, lol). We settled on two dates I could complete the shops. For some reason, I did not get the expected emails, (one of those weird things) So I called, no problem. Emailed again, the person, (male this time) even waited till I checked and searched my email for the needed info. Got it. Looking forward to completing my first shop for them.
For me, I accepted the jobs over the phone, but did not get the email. So I called and sure enough the jobs were mine but no email. I had to request they resend, they did and I got all the info I needed. But prior to that, I would have assumed I DID NOT have the assignments, but for the fact that I did speak to someone on the phone and agreed to specific dates.

I have done exit interviews and got paid perfecty. I have done other shops for them and now am working with them again. I have NEVER had any problems whatsever!! I love DGS.
This always amazes me...how some folks hate an MSC (Like I hate StN) and others love it). It seems very few companies get the same rep/rap from all shoppers. Reading this info, I am thinking of signing up with DSG and taking my chances. I will be careful to get shops confirmed by email, etc. I need to build up a really solid base of MSCs' the ones I love are running out of shops in my area...or I have already shopped my limit.

Happy Shopping. Jersey
When I worked for them I was working in a much larger city and had a rather flexable job. If needed I could run do the shop and go back to work. When I retired there was not enought jobs in my small town to be worth it and they pay was not enough to travel very far.

I had no problem working with them except at the end of the month they rang my phone all the time. They were easy to get along with until I said something about getting 7 calls in about a 90 minute time frame. They got sorta touchy and I got sorta touchy. I decided to put some space between us after they refused to pay for a shop that was bad from the start. I didn't botch it the site botched it. I just didn't ever get around to going back to them.

All you can do is try it and see what happens.
