wierd marketforce problem

a friend of mine registered with marketforce last week. lives in toronto/ontario/canada.

when he looks for shops NOTHING appears in Canada - even when search radius is 200 miles.

He does find stuff in USA when he searches there.

Anyone ever have something like this. he has emailed helpdesk numerous times but no reply.

That is odd. A US friend used to talk about seeing Canadian jobs when she was looking for US stuff. They may have segmented their work to handle cross border issues of various sorts (including currency exchange and taxes). There was recent mention of Shop 'N Chek Canada. Perhaps your Canadian friend would do better checking with that entity.
They may just need to take the training/certification for their fast food client. Then they should see the jobs.

Right now I did a search and there are no jobs right in Toronto, but there are fast food places in the farther cities (e.g. Newcastle). There is a retail shop in Vaughan as well.

Shop'n'chek Canada is a completely different company and not related to Marketforce at all anymore. They use the same job/reporting program, and when I first started 7 years ago (back when Marketforce was called "Shop'n'chek.com", they must have been connected in some way because my shopper number and password is the same for both websites. But now, neither company claims to know anything about the other. They are completely separate. (But same corporate attitude towards shoppers).
This seemed to happen right around when I wound up getting the ax from them. All of my jobs disappeared from being selected unless I did a large radius search. Then, it picked up some obscure jobs. But I was fully cut shortly thereafter.
I have had odd problems with them too. I know I was registered with them from 07-09, but I took a break. Tried to log on and it says I dont exist in their system, tried to register and it says I am already a user! Both cant be true!

Writing SPAM on every single thread is also SPAM. Can we just report this person and stop making every thread appear to have more than it does?

By marking "SPAM" we make it easy for our administrator to do a quick search and delete the spam - it also saves other posters the time of reading the annoying spam in the interim. If you'll notice, within a short time, everything marked SPAM is quickly gone.
Well, I have a question about them as well.... I am still relatively new (3-4 months) and have worked with Marketforce (blue and purple) and found I enjoy the jobs, they are a quick payer....

But, recently when I search, I find fewer and fewer jobs that are available. Is this their MO, to just reduce the jobs and then get rid of shoppers altogether?

Does anyone have any history as a shopper with them who could offer any insight?

I know I have to expand my list of companies I am listed with so I'm not doing so much work of for just a couple, but I just haven't done so yet!!
I have worked with the blue portal for a long time--back into those days before they were purchased by Market Force. Clients come and clients go. There have been some really plum clients they had in the past who are not currently being shopped. One at least that I know of has gone into bankruptcy and not emerged, so obviously they will not return. Other clients have drifted off to other companies while clients have drifted in from other MSPs. One client seems to only be shopped in one small market anymore. Because Market Force is one of the better known and more discussed companies, it is one of the first that many shoppers sign up with. So from time to time the competition becomes almost frenzied for the jobs. Like almost any MSP, Market Force offers jobs you will find worthwhile and jobs you find are not. Unless you have declined particular clients or types of shops, you should be seeing about the same you saw 6 or 8 months ago except for the seasonal banking shops and clients in your particular area that may have fallen by the wayside. If you are not seeing them, the chances are that someone in your area is beating you to the job board.
well, that's good to know! I guess I get sort of paranoid sometimes. As I do this longer and longer, I'll start to get a handle on the cycles, which will help.
I just started mystery shopping recently, having only done 2 shops. I live in a small town, so not a lot of places to shop.I want to apply to at least 1 more mystery shopping site, which one would is another good one?
Not knowing where you are, let me suggest that the companies with nationwide clients are Bare, MarketForce (blue portal) and Maritz. There may be others, but these 3 currently are sure to have at least one client in your area anywhere in the US. They aren't the best paying companies, but will have work near you.
I really don't think that anyone knows how Marketforce works and frankly I don't care. They provide plenty of shops in my area and I do not find them wierd.

They, like everyone else, including yourself, have guidelines for shops.

Their is nothing wierd about Market Force.

If they stop you or don't start you, it's their needs that are important, not yours.
